Before rst use
When you use the appliance for the rst time, we advise you to let it complete one sterilization
process with empty baskets.
Note: Heating up takes approx. 4 minutes and sterilizing takes approx. 6 minutes.

5Putthepluginanelectricaloutlet.
6 Pressthepower-onbuttontoturnontheappliance.(Fig.6)
Note: If you plug the appliance into the electrical outlet after you have pressed the power-on button, the
sterilizer starts to heat up immediately.

Note: The appliance does not work for 10 minutes after a sterilizing cycle. It needs to cool down rst.

Preparing for sterilizing
Before you put the items to be sterilized in the sterilizer, clean them thoroughly in the dishwasher or
clean them by hand with hot water and some liquid soap.
Using the dishwasher basket (SCF288/SCF287/SCF286 only)
Use the dishwasher basket to preclean the items you want to sterilize.
1 Openthetwosectionsofthelidofthedishwasherbasketandplacethebottlesand
accessoriesinthebasket(Fig.7).
Note: Make sure that the bottles are placed upside down.
2 Closethetwosectionsofthelidofthedishwasherbasket(Fig.8).
3 Placethebasketinthedishwasher.
4 Switchonthedishwasherandletitcompletethedishwashingcycle.
5Whenthedishwasherisnished,takeoutthedishwasherbasketandmakesurethatthe
dishwasherbasketandallitemstobesterilized,areclean.Ifnot,cleanthembyhand.
6 Placethedishwasherbasketcompletelyintothelargebasketofthesterilizer.
Note: You can leave the dishwasher basket inside the large basket with the two sections of the lid opened.
