Confirm therapy cable is not connected to test plug before pressing
ON button.

Quick Guide for Basic Operation
Note: This Quick Guide for Basic Operation of the LIFEPAK 20e
defibrillator/monitor is an abridged reference for basic unit operation.
Refer to the LIFEPAK 20e Defibrillator/Monitor Operating Instructions
for complete directions for use, indications, contraindications, warnings,
precautions and potential adverse events.
For LIFEPAK 20e devices equipped with a CPR Metronome, and the
Metronome is set to ON in the setup options, the CPR Metronome icon
is displayed and the Metronome sounds automatically during CPR. You
cannot enable or disable the CPR Metronome while in AED mode.

•PressON.*
•ApplyQUIK-COMBO®
therapy electrodes, or hard
paddles and conductive gel.
•SelectENERGY
SELECT. Adjust
up or down as needed.
•PressCHARGE.
•Stand clear.
•PressSHOCK
button to discharge energy to
the patient.
•Toactivateordeactivatethe
CPR Metronome, use the
SPEEDDIALtoselecttheCPR
Metronome icon then select
thedesiredAge-Airwaysetting.
Defibrillation
Manual Operation
•PressON.
•AttachECGcableandapply
ECG electrodes (ensure adequate
spacing between ECG and
QUIK-COMBOelectrodes).
•ApplyQUIK-COMBO
therapy electrodes.
•PressPACER.
•PressRATE to adjust
up or down as needed.
•PressCURRENT
and increase until electrical
capture is achieved.
•Conrmmechanicalcapture.
•Asneeded,pressPAUSE
and hold to confirm
underlying rhythm.
•Tostoppacing,reducecurrent
to zero or press PACER.
Note: The CPR Metronome cannot be
activated during pacing.
Pacing Operation
•PressON.
•AttachECGcableand
apply ECG electrodes.
•ApplyQUIK-COMBOtherapy
electrodes or hard paddles
and conductive gel.
•SelectleadIIortheleadwiththe
greatestQRScomplexamplitude.
•PressSYNC. Confirm
placement of triangle sense
marker (
)appearsnearthemiddle
ofeachQRScomplex.
•PressENERGY SELECT.
Adjust up or down as needed.
•PressCHARGE.
•Stand clear.
•Pressandhold SHOCK
until energy is delivered.
Synchronized Cardioversion
* To change from AED operation to manual
operation press gray manual tab and open
door or press ENERGY SELECT. To change
from Manual mode back to AED mode,
press ANALYZE.
