1.2. System andmodeldescription
Honline seriesisan uninterruptiblepowersupplyincorporating double-conversiontechnology. Itprovides
perfect protection specificallyforcomputerequipmentcommunication systemstocomputerized instruments.
Itstrue online double-conversion design eliminatesallmainspowerdisturbances.Arectifierconvertsthe
alternating currentfromthe utilitypowertodirectcurrent. Thisdirectcurrentchargesthe batteriesand
powersthe inverter.Onthe basisofthisDC voltage,the invertergeneratesapuresinusoidalACvoltage,
whichisconstantlypowering the loads.

1).When unpacking the UPS,pleasepayattention tothe packing mode and theannexinwhichincludes
user-manual, warrantycard, input powercable, output wiring socket. Thereshouldalsohavean external
battery connection cableifthe model of yourequipmentisoflong backup type.
2). Inspect yourmachine tosee whetherit'sdamaged in the transportation.If damaged orsomeparts
missing, pleasedon't start up yourUPS.
3). Checkifthe equipmentisjustwhat you wanted topurchase. You canaffirmthrough inspecting the model
numberon backpanelof the equipment.
2.2. Safetynotes
1). Keep good aircirculation around UPS and farawayfromwater,flammablegasand corrosive.
2). Don't placeUPSon the slope and thereshouldkeep good aircirculation between in-vent on front panel
bottomand fan outventon back panel.
3). The environmenttemperaturearound UPSshouldkeep inarange of 0℃~40℃.
4).Therewillbe phenomena ofcondensing iftheequipmentisdismantled orinstalled underlowtemperature.
The equipmentcan't be installed unless itisfulldryatinternaland externalof the equipment,otherwise,
therewillbe dangerof electric.

The batteriescan't be moreorless connected, otherwiseUPS will work abnormal orbe damaged.Battery

2). One end of externalbattery cableisconnected toUPS;the otherend isopen styletwocablesused to
connect tobattery pack.The process ofconnecting battery isveryimportant.Operatormust obeythe
instructions.

Long backup externalbattery connection
A.Firstconnect battery group inseriesand ensurecorrect batteryvoltage.
B.Extended batterycablemustbe connectedtobatteryfirst(do notconnecttoUPSfirst;otherwisetherewill
be dangerof(electricshock). Red cableconnect withbattery anode “+”and black cableconnectwith

3. Operation andoperating mode
3.1.Operation
3.1.1.Turnon the UPSwithutilitypowersupplied (inlinemode/ACmode)
Pleasefirstlyuseofinternal batterymodels.
A.Whenyou operatefirsttime,pleaseopen thebattery breakercoverplateand turnonthebattery
breaker.Then closethe batterybreakercoverplate.
B.Afteryou makesurethatthepowersupplyconnectioniscorrect,setthe inputbreakerinthe “ON”
position first.Atthistimethe fan rotatesand the UPS suppliespowertothe load viathe bypass.The UPS
operatesinbypassmode.
C.Topoweron the UPS bysimplypressing the “ON”button continuouslyformorethan 1second.
D.When being powered on,the UPS will performself-diagnosis,withthe load/battery levelLEDsturned
on and then offone afteranotherinascending order.Afewsecondslater,the INVLEDisturned on,the UPS
isalreadyrunninginutilitypowermode. If theutilitypowerisabnormal,theUPSwill operateinbatterymode
without outputinterruption of the UPS.

3.1.2.Turnon the UPSwithno utilitypowersupplied (in battery mode)
A. Press the “ON”button continuouslyformorethan 1second topoweron the UPSForlong backup time
model(“S”model), pleasemakesurethatthe battery breakerisin “ON”position.
B.During the courseofstarting up,the UPS hasthe sameaction asifitisconnected toutilitypower
exceptthatthe utilitypowerLEDisnot turned on and the battery LEDisturned on instead.
3.1.3.Turnoffthe UPS withutilitypowersupplied (inlinemode/ACmode)
A.Press the “OFF”button continuouslyformorethan 1second toturnoffthe inverterofthe UPS
immediately.
B.When beingpowered off, the UPSwill performself-diagnosis, the load/batterylevelLEDswillbeturned
on and then offone afteranotherinascending order,then the INVLEDwillbe turned offand bypassLEDwill
be turned on.The UPSisworking inbypass mode.
C. Upon completion ofthe abovetoturnit off, output ofelectriccurrent ofthe UPS isstillpresent. Inorder
tocutoffthe outputfromthe UPS,simplycutoffthe utilitypowersupplyand the UPS willperform
self-diagnosis,finallynotanydisplayisshownon the displaypaneland no voltage outputisavailablefrom
the UPS output.
3.1.4.Turnoffthe UPS withno utilitypowersupplied (inbattery mode)
A. Press the “OFF”button continuouslyformorethan 1second topowerofftheUPS.
B.When beingpowered off, the UPSwill performself-diagnosis, the load/batterylevelLEDswillbeturned
on and then offone afteranotherinascending order.Finallynotanydisplayisshownonthe displaypanel
and on voltage isavailableformthe UPS output.
Suggestions:pleaseturnoffthe connected loadsbeforeturningon theUPS andturnonthe loadsone by
one afterthe UPSisworking inINVmode.Turnoff allof the connected loadsbeforeturning off the UPS.
3.2.Operatingmode
3.2.1. Utilitypowermode
The displaypanelinutilitypowermode isshowninthefollowing diagram,the utilitypowerLEDand the
INVLEDareturned on,the load levelLEDswill beturned on inaccordancewiththe load capacity
connected.
A.Ifthe battery LEDisturned onand the utilitypowerLEDflashes, itindicatesthe voltage orfrequency of
the utilitypowerhasexceeded the normal range, the UPS operatesinbattery mode.

B. If outputoverloaded,the load levelLEDswillbe turned on and alarmwillkeep twiceevery second. You
shouldget ridof someunnecessary loadsone byone todecreasethe loadsconnected totheUPSless than
90% of itsnominal powercapacity.
Note: pleasefollowthe following stepstoconnect the generator;
lActivatethegeneratorandwaituntil theoperation isstablebeforesupplyingpowerofthe generatorto
the UPS (be surethatthe UPS isinidlemode).Then turnon the UPS according tothe start-up
procedure.Afterthe UPSisturned on, then the loadscan be connected totheUPS one byone.
lThe powercapacityofthe ACgeneratorshouldbe atleast twiceoftheUPS capacity.
3.2.2Battery mode
The displaypanelinbattery mode isshowninthe following diagramFig3-2.The batteryLEDand the INV
LEDareturned on.The displayed numberof thebatterylevelLEDswillbeturned on inaccordancewiththe
battery capacity.Notethatthe load levelLEDsinutilitypowermode will indicatethe levelofthe battery
capacityinbattery mode instead.
A.When the UPS isrunning inbattery mode,the buzzerbeepsonceevery 4again,the buzzerwillstop
beeping (insilencemode).Press the “ON”button onceagainformorethan 1second toresumethe
alarmfunction.

B.Whenthe battery capacitydecreases,the numberofthe battery capacityLEDsturned on willbe reduced.
Ifthebatteryvoltage descendstothe alarmlevel,thebuzzerwill beep onceeverysecond toremind the
usersofinsufficientbattery capacityand the UPSissoon going toshutdownautomatically.Then the
load operationsshouldbe carried outpromptlyand the loadsshouldbe eliminated one byone.
3.2.3. Bypassmode
The displaypanelinbypass mode isshowninthe following diagramFig3-3.The utilitypowerLEDand the
bypass LEDarelit. The displayed numberofthe load LEDswillbe turned on inaccordancewiththe load
capacityconnected. The UPSwill beep onceevery2minutesinbypass mode.
lThe utilitypowerLEDflashes.Itshowsthatthe voltageorfrequency ofthe utilitypowerhasexceeded
the normal range ofthe UPS.

The backup timeofthe long backup timemodel isdependenton the externalbattery packcapacityand the
load levelaswell asotherfactors.

3.2.7. Batterymaintenance
ThisseriesUPSonlyrequiresminimalmaintenance.The batteryused forstandardmodelsarevalue
regulated sealed lead-acidmaintenancefree battery.Thesemodelsrequireminimalrepairs.Theonly
requirementistocharge the UPS regularlyinordertomaximizethe expected lifeof the battery.When being
connected tothe utilitypower,whetherthe UPSisturned on ornot,the UPS keepscharging the batteries
and alsooffersthe protectivefunction ofovercharging and over-discharging.
lThe UPS shouldbe charged onceevery4to6monthsif it hasnot been used foralong tine.
lInthe regionsofhotclimates,thebatteryshouldbecharged and discharged every2months.The
standardcharging timeshouldbe atleast 12 hours.
lUndernormal conditions,the battery lifelasts3to5years.Incaseifthe battery isfound notingood
condition,earlierreplacementshouldbe made.Batteryreplacementshouldbe performed byqualified
personnel.

4. Notes forbattery disposal andbattery replacement
●The battery of standardunitisofvalveregulated, maintenancefree.Itcan attainexpectantlifeonlyby
keeping frequent charging. Regardless ofUPS on oroff when UPS connectstoutilitypower, the battery is
charged allthe timeand UPSoffersprotection forover-charge and over-discharge.
●Normallythe battery lifeisthree tofiveyearsand the battery must bereplaced ahead oftimeoncethere
presentsanyabnormal status. The batteryreplacement must onlybe performed byqualified personnel.
●It isinadvisabletoreplaceasinglebattery.Operatorshouldobeythe instruction of battery distributor
whenreplacing allbatteries.
●The batteriesshouldbe charged and discharged onceeveryfourtosixmonths. AfterUPS discharged to
off,the batteriesshouldbe recharged. The charge timeofstandardunit must be morethan 12 hours.
●The battery must be charged and discharged onceeverytwomonthsinhigh-temperaturearea.The
charge timeofstandardunitsmust be morethan twelvehours.
1.Ifitisnecessary toreplaceanyconnection cables,pleasepurchasethe originalmaterialsfromthe
authorized distributorsorservicecenters, soastoavoid overheat orspark resulting infiredue toinsufficient
capacity.
2. Do not disposeofbatteriesorbatterypacksinafire,theymayexplode.
3.Do notopen ormutilatebatteries,released electrolyteishighlypoisonousand harmful tothe skinand
eyes.
4. Do not short the positiveand negativeof the battery electrode, otherwise, itmayresultinelectricshock
orfire.
5.Makesurethatthereisno voltage beforetouching the batteries. The batterycircuitisnotisolatedfrom
the inputpotential circuit. Theremaybe hazardousvoltage betweenthe battery terminalsand ground.
6. Even though the input breakerisdisconnected, the componentsinside the UPS arestillconnected with
the batteries,and therearepotentialhazardousvoltages.Therefore,beforeanymaintenanceand repairs
work iscarried out, switchoffthe breakerofthe battery pack ordisconnectthe jumperwireofconnecting
betweenthe batteries.

7. Batteriescontainhazardousvoltage and current. Battery maintenancesuchasthe battery replacement
must be carried outbyqualified personnelwho areknowledgeableabout batteries. No otherpersonsshould
handlethe batteries.
