protocolenablespassinganyinformationfromthecontrolpaneltothedetectorandinversely.Apart
fromtransmittinganevaluationoffirefactorsandtendencyoftheirchangetendency,thedetector
passestothecontrolpanel,onitsrequest,acurrentanaloguevalue.
Thedetectoroperationcontrollingmicroprocessormonitorscorrectnessofitsbasiccircuits
operationand,incaseanirregularityisfound,reportsrelevantinformationtothecontrolpanel.The
DUR‐4046isananaloguedetectorwithanautomaticsensitivityself‐regulationdigitalmechanism
thatisitmaintainsaconstantsensitivitylevelduringprogressingdirtbuild‐upinthemeasuring
chamber.
Afterexceedingapre‐setthresholdoftechnicalalarm,thedetectortransmitsasignaltothePOLON
4000systemcontrolpaneldenotingthemeasuringchamberpartialcontamination.Thesignalis
generatedinordertoinformtheservicingpersonnelthatthedetectorparametersshallnotremain
atthedeclaredlevelincasethedirtbuild‐uptendencyismaintainedandappropriatemeasuresare
nottaken.Itmustbestressedthatthedetectorshallbefullyefficientwithinca.1/3ofthetime
periodthatpassedsincethelatestmaintenanceworks.
Thedetectorisequippedwithaninternalshort‐circuitisolatorthatcutsoffanefficientpartofa
detectionlinefromtheadjacentshortedsectionwhatenablesfurtherundisturbeddetector
operation.Thedetectoralarmmodeissignalledwithaflashingredlightoftheilluminatingdiode.A
faultmode,technicalalarmandanactuationofashort‐circuitisolatoraresignalledwithyellow
flashesofthediode.Thedetectorsensitivitylevelisadjustable.Itssensitivityissettledfromthe
controlpanellevelchoosingoneofavailablesensitivitylevels:1stoperationmode–normal
sensitivity,2ndoperationmode–increasedsensitivity,3rdoperationmode–decreasedsensitivity.
Thedetectoroperationmodes(besidesthecontrolpanelalarmvariants)entailsthattheuserisable
toadapt,inthebestway,itsoperationcharacteristicstooperationinthedeterminedenvironment.
6OPERATIONANDSERVICINGCONDITIONS
Duringthedetectorsoperationitisobligatorytoavoidcreationofdeworrimeonthedetector
surfaceaswellastoprotectagainstexcessivecontaminationwithdust.
Fortheperiodofrepairworks,thedetectorshouldbetakenout(consideringp.3.1.
provisions)orprotectedwithappropriateforthispurposecover.Suchacovercanbe
obtainedfromaninstallerorpurchasedfromthemanufacturer.Incasethedetectoris
takenout,itsbaseshouldbeprotectedagainstbeingpaintedutilisingapaintingtape.
Detectorswhicharedamagedduringpaintingandrenovationworksduetoafaultofthe
personsexecutingsuchworks(e.g.painteddetectorcasing,stuck‐with‐paintnet,etc.)are
notsubjecttowarrantyrepairs.
Duringtheoperationlife,theDUR‐4046detectorshouldbesubjectedtoperiodicalinspection
accordingtoPKN‐CEN/TS54‐14:2006standard,whichisexecutedinordertoconfirmthedetector
properoperationanditsappropriateinteroperationwiththecontrolpanel.Theinspectionshouldbe
carriedoutatleastoncein6months.
Thedetectoroperationistestedwithasmokesimulatororsmokegenerator.
TheDUR‐4046opticalsmokedetectorlong‐lastingoperationmayresultindustaccumulationinside
itsinternalopticalchamber.Afterexceedingtheself‐regulationrangeduetothechamber
contaminationprogress,thedetectortriggersatechnicalalarmmodesendingexcessive
