•To avoid prejudicing the safety of the ap-

•Do not put any detergent or chemical sub-
stance in the boiler. Water by its nature con-
tains magnesium, mineral salts and other
deposits which in hard water areas can con-
tribute to limescale build up in the boiler. To
avoid these problems, it is necessary to swill
out with tapwater and empty the boiler after
every 3 or 4 uses.In very hard water areas
we recommend the use of our KALSTOP, a
special natural-base decalcifier which inhi-
bits and breaks down limescale, making it
easy to remove just by swilling out the tank
with a little tapwater. This is a preventive
against scale build-up and protects the metal
walls of the steam generator tank. KAL-
STOP is available from Polti dealers or by
mail-order from your Polti Service Centre.
•We recommend you use original Polti
products only, as products of other
brands may not be suitable for use in

•Press the ON/OFF switch (B).
•Wait for the steam ready indicator lamp
(C) to go out. The device is now ready to
be used.
•Wear Steam & Walk like a normal rucksack.
Adjust the front buckles and fasten them to
ensure suitable comfort.
•Before using the cloth supplied, steam the
surface to be treated with the brush for 15-
20 seconds in order to stabilise the ap-
pliance operating temperature.
•The jet of steam is activated by gently pres-
sing the brush on the surface to be treated.
•Apply the cloth to the brush using the Velcro
on it (fig.4).
Cloth (O) is suitable for cleaning smooth sur-

Cloth (P) is instead suitable for cleaning
rough surfaces, such as terracotta, and
cleans more thoroughly.
•You can begin use according to the advice

•Please pay careful attention when cleaning
wooden surfaces and treated terracotta floo-
ring as prolonged use of steam may damage
the wax, polish or colour of the surfaces to
be cleaned. We therefore recommend only
steaming these surfaces for short periods of
time, or cleaning using a previously steamed
cloth.
•To clean efficiently, start from the corners of
the rooms, moving backwards to clean the
surface.
•Always supply steam when pushing the
brush forwards, then pick up the dirt, pulling
the brush backwards (without supplying
steam).
•For a more efficient collection, pull the brush
towards you in an “S” shape (fig. 5).

•To clean the vertical surfaces, lock the brush
in order that the joint remains fixed.
To do so, simply lower the lock as shown in
figure6.
•To release the joint, restore the lock to its ori-

It is also useful to lock the joint when resting
