FILLING THE WATER AND DETERGENT TANKS
• Fill the water tank (I) with ordinary tap water.
• Use the funnel (23) to fill the detergent tank (J) with ap-
propriately diluted detergent.
CAUTION: never fill the water tank with detergent solution
or vice versa, and never switch the positions of the two
tanks on the appliance. It is important to fill the water tank (I)
with water only, NEVER with detergent. Putting detergent
into the water tank could seriously damage the appliance.
• Place the tanks in their positions on the appliance, as
shown in fig.1.
• Proceed to make connections, inserting the probe tubes
in the connectors on the tanks (fig.2).
• Close the tanks by screwing on the cap (S) and inserting
the self-primer tube (R) in the hole on the cap (fig.3).
PREPARATION OF THE DIRT CONTAINER
• Release the two levers locking the dirt container (K) in
place and slide the container (L) out of the appliance
(fig.4).
• Open the dirt container lid using the handle (fig.5).
• Fill the container (L) with 1 litre of ordinary tap water.
• Add a dose (one cap) of antifoam (28) to the water in the
container (L).
• Put the container back into the appliance, performing the
procedure described above in reverse order.

• Open the door on the unit socket (N); plug in the unit plug
(6) all the way, without pressing the button, until you hear
the mechanism click into place, then check that it is con-
nected properly (fig. 6).
• To disconnect the unit plug (6) from the appliance, press
button (7) and pull the unit plug away from the appliance.
• Plug in the appliance into a suitable electrical outlet.
STEAM FUNCTION
• Press the main switch (A) and the light will come on.
• Press the boiler switch (B). The steam ready indicator
light (E) will start flashing and then stay on (after about
5-10 minutes), indicating that the appliance is ready to
dispense steam.
• Press the steam/detergent button (3) on the handle to di-
spense steam.
Note: The handle (2) has a safety button (4) which prevents
accidental dispensing of steam by children or people unfa-

the hose temporarily unattended while the appliance is on,
lock the safety button (4). Put it back in its original position
to start dispensing steam again.
The first time you use the appliance, a few drops of water
may leak out because the inside of the hose is not yet per-
fectly thermally stable. It is advisable to direct the first jet of
steam onto a rag, until the jet is uniform.
• To turn off the steam function, press the switch (B). The
indicator light (E) will go out.
VACUUM FUNCTION
• Press the main switch (A) and the light will come on.
• Hold button (5) on the handle (2) down for a few seconds,
and the appliance will begin vacuuming.
CAUTION: Use the vacuum function to pick up
liquid/damp dirt only, not to pick up dry dirt.
• To stop vacuuming, hold the button (5) on the handle (2)
down for a few seconds.
DETERGENT FUNCTION
• Press the main switch (A) and the light will come on.
• Press the detergent switch (C). The detergent indicator
light (G) will come on.
• Press the steam/detergent button (3) on the handle to di-
spense detergent.
Note: The handle (2) has a safety button (4) which prevents
accidental dispensing of steam by children or people unfa-
miliar with operation of the appliance. If you need to leave
the hose temporarily unattended while the appliance is on,
lock the safety button (4). Put it back in its original position
to start dispensing steam again.
• To turn off the detergent function, press the switch (C).
The indicator light (G) will go out.

When the water in the dirt container (L) is very dirty, replace
it as described in the section on “Emptying and cleaning the
dirt container”. When dirt in the dirt container (L) reaches
the maximum permitted level, vacuuming will be automati-
cally shut down by the safety float (P) (you will hear the mo-
tor running faster).
CAUTION: turn off the appliance and do not start it up again
until you have put water in the container as described in the
section on “Emptying and cleaning the dirt container”. If you
attempt to turn on the appliance before this, you could da-
mage the filter on the air outlet (Q).
To resume cleaning, proceed as described in the section on

Before steam-treating leather, special fabrics and wooden
surfaces, refer to the manufacturer’s care instructions and
always test by applying steam to a hidden corner or sample
of the material. Let the steam-treated part dry and then
check it for colour changes or deformation.
DO NOT USE STEAM ON DRAYLON, VELVET OR SIMI-
LAR SENSITIVE SURFACES.
Be very careful when cleaning wooden surfaces (furniture,
doors, etc.) and brick floors, as excessively prolonged use
of steam could damage the wax, polish or colour of the sur-
faces.
Apply steam to surfaces of this kind only for brief intervals,
or clean them with a cloth to which you have applied steam.
On particularly delicate surfaces (such as synthetic mate-
rials, lacquered surfaces, etc.) use only the minimum steam
setting. When cleaning glass in cold weather, preheat the
glass by starting to spray from about 50 cm away. Spray
plants from at least 50 cm away.
