Readandfollowall instructions,warnings,andnotesinthismanual beforeattemptingtooperateyourpowerchair forthe
firsttime. In addition,your safetydepends uponyou, as wellas your provider, caretaker,or healthcare professionalin

reduce the risk of leakage or explosive conditions.
EMI-RFI - This product has been tested and passed at an immunity level of 20 V/m.
Read and follow the information in the owner’s manual.
Maximum seating weight.
Left freewheel lever operation
Place unit on level ground and stand behind or to one side when changing from
drive mode to freewheel mode or freewheel mode to drive mode.

Battery Configuration:
+ = Positive Battery Terminal
– = Negative Battery Terminal
Connect Red wire to positive (+) battery terminal
Connect Black wire negative (–) battery terminal
Do not use a cell phone, walkie/talkie, laptop, or other radio transmitter while
operating.
Avoid exposure to rain, snow, ice, salt, or standing water whenever possible.
Maintain and store in a clean and dry condition.
Removal of grounding prong can create electrical hazard. If necessary, properly
install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged
plug access. Failure to heed could result in personal injury and/or property
damage.
Prevent personal injury and equipment damage. Do not connect an extension
cord to the AC/DC converter or the battery charger.
Disposal and Recycling - Contact your authorized Pride Provider for information
on proper disposal and recycling of your Pride product and its packaging.
Prevent personal injury! Be aware that loose fitting clothing can become caught
in drive tires.

MANDATORY! Do not operate your new power chair for the first time without completely reading
and understanding this owner’s manual.
Your powerchairis astate-of-the-artlife-enhancementdevicedesigned to increasemobility.Prideprovidesan extensive
varietyof products to best fit the individual needs of the power chair user. Please be awarethat the final selection and
purchasing decision regarding the type of power chair to be used is the responsibility of the power chair user, who is
capableofmaking suchadecision, andhis/herhealthcare professional(i.e.,medical doctor,physicaltherapist, etc.).
Thecontentsof thismanualarebased ontheexpectation thatamobility deviceexperthasproperly fittedthepower chair
totheuserand hasassistedthe prescribinghealthcareprofessionaland/or theauthorizedPride Providerintheinstruction
processfor the use of theproduct.
Therearecertainsituations,includingsomemedicalconditions,wherethepowerchairuserwillneedtopracticeoperating
the power chair in the presence of a trained attendant.Atrained attendant can be defined as a family member or care
professionalspeciallytrainedinassistingapowerchairuserinvariousdailylivingactivities.
Asyoubeginusingyourpowerchairduringdailyactivities,youwillprobablyencountersituationsinwhichyouwillneed
somepractice. Simplytake yourtime andyou willsoon bein fulland confidentcontrol asyou maneuverthrough door-
ways,on and offof elevators,up and downramps, and overmoderate terrain.
Belowaresomeprecautions,tips, andothersafetyconsiderations thatwillhelptheuser becomeaccustomedtooperating
thepowerchair safely.
Modifications
Pridehasdesignedandengineeredyourpowerchairtoprovidemaximummobilityandutility.Awiderangeofaccessories
isavailable fromyour authorized PrideProvider to furthercustomize yourpower chair tobetter suit yourneeds and/or
preferences.However,under nocircumstances should youmodify, add,remove,or disableany feature,part,or function
ofyour powerchair.
WARNING! Do not modify your power chair in any way not authorized by Pride. Unauthorized
modifications may result in personal injury and/or damage to your power chair.
Pre-Ride Safety Check
Getto knowthe feelof yourpower chair andits capabilities.Pride recommendsthat youperform a safetycheck before
eachuse tomake sure yourpower chairoperates smoothly andsafely.SeeVIII. “Careand Maintenance.”
Performthefollowinginspectionspriortousingyourpowerchair:
!Checkforproper tireinflation. Maintain 35psi(2.4bar)ineachtire (ifequippedwith pneumatictires).
!Checkall electricalconnections. Makesure theyare tightand notcorroded.
!Checkall controllerconnections tothe electronicstray.Make surethey aresecured properly.
!Checkthe brakes. See VIII.“Care and Maintenance.”
!Checkbattery charge.See VI.“Batteries andCharging.”

Weight Limitations
Yourpowerchair isratedfor a maximumweightcapacity.Pleasereferto thespecificationstable forthislimit.
WARNING! Exceeding the weight capacity voids your warranty and may result in personal injury
and/or damage to your power chair. Pride will not be held responsible for injuries and/or property
damage resulting from failure to observe weight limitations.
WARNING! Do not carry passengers on your power chair. Carrying passengers on your power
chair may result in personal injury and/or property damage.
Tire Inflation
Ifyour power chairis equipped withpneumatic tires, youshould check orhave the airpressure checked atleast once a
week.Proper inflation pressureswill prolong thelife of yourtires andhelp ensure thesmooth operation ofyour power
chair.
WARNING! It is important that 35 psi (2.4 bar) tire pressure be maintained in pneumatic tires at
all times. Do not underinflate or overinflate your tires. Low pressure may result in loss of control,
and overinflated tires may burst. Failure to maintain 35 psi (2.4 bar) tire pressure in pneumatic
tires at all times may result in tire and/or wheel failure, causing serious personal injury and/or
damage to your power chair.
WARNING! Inflate your power chair drive tires from a regulated air source with an available pressure
gauge. Inflating your tires from an unregulated air source could overinflate them, resulting in a
burst tire and/or personal injury.
Incline Information
Moreandmorebuildingshaverampswithspecifieddegreesofinclination,designedforeasyandsafeaccess.Someramps
mayhaveturning switchbacks(180-degree turns)thatrequire youtohave goodcornering skillsonyour powerchair.
!Proceed with extreme caution as you approach the downgrade of a ramp or other incline.
!Take wide swings with your power chair’s front wheels around any tight corners. If you do that, the power chair’s rear
wheels will follow a wide arc, not cut the corner short, and not bump into or get hung up on any railing corners.
!When driving down a ramp, keep the power chair’s speed adjustment set to the slowest speed setting to ensure a safely
controlled descent. See VII. “Operation.”
!Avoid sudden stops and starts.
Whenclimbinganincline,trytokeepyourpowerchairmoving.Ifyoumuststop,startupagainslowlyandthenaccelerate
cautiously.When drivingdown anincline, setyour power chairto theslowest settingand drivein theforward direction
only. If your power chair starts to move down the incline faster than you anticipated or desired, allow it to come to a
completestopby releasingthejoystick, thenpushthe joystickforwardslightly toensurea safelycontrolleddescent.

WARNING! When climbing an incline, do not zigzag or drive at an angle up the face of the incline.
Drive your power chair straight up the incline. This greatly reduces the possibility of a tip or a
fall. Always exercise extreme caution when negotiating an incline.
WARNING! You should not travel up or down a potentially hazardous incline (i.e., areas covered
with snow, ice, cut grass, or wet leaves).
WARNING! When on any sort of an incline or decline, never place the power chair in freewheel
mode while seated on it or standing next to it. Doing so may result in personal injury and/or
damage to your power chair.
WARNING! Never travel down an incline backwards. This may result in personal injury.
Incompliancewith theAmericans withDisabilitiesAct of1990, allhandicap publicaccessramps arerequired tohavea
maximumslopeof 5°(8.7%). Therefore,Priderecommends thatthe maximumslope ofanincline youattempt tosafely
ascend or descend on your power chair does not exceed 5° (8.7%). See figure 1.
WARNING! Any attempt to climb or descend a slope steeper than 5° (8.7%) may put your power
chair in an unstable position and cause it to tip, resulting in personal injury.
Braking Information
Yourpower chairisequipped withtwopowerful brakesystems:
1. Regenerative —useselectricity torapidlyslow thevehiclewhen thejoystickreturns tothecenter/stopposition.
2. Disc ParkBrake —activatesmechanically afterregenerative brakingslows thevehicleto nearstop, orwhenpower
isremovedfrom thesystem foranyreason.
Cornering Information
Whileyourpower chairis equipped withrear casterwheelsand frontanti-tip wheels,excessivelyhigh corneringspeeds
canstill create the possibility of tipping.Factors which affect the possibility oftipping include, but are not limitedto:
corneringspeed,steeringangle(howsharplyyouare turning), uneven road surfaces, inclined road surfaces, riding froman
area of low traction to an area of high traction (such as passing from a grassy area to a paved area – especially at high
speedwhile turning),and abruptdirectional changes.High corneringspeeds arenot recommended.If you feelthat you
maytipoverinacorner,reduceyourspeedandsteering angle(i.e.,lessenthesharpnessofthe turn)topreventyourpower
chairfromtipping.
WARNING! When cornering sharply, reduce your speed. This greatly reduces the possibility of a
tip or fall. To avoid personal injury and/or property damage, always exercise common sense when
cornering.
