IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Whenusing electricalappliances,basic precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock, andinjuryto persons,including the
following:
1.Read all instructions before usingthis heater.
2.Thisappliance is hot when inuse. Toavoid
burns, donot come in contactwithheater. Keep
combustiblematerials,such as furniture,
pillows, bedding,papers, clothes, and curtains
at least 3feet (1m.)from thefront of the heater.
3.Extremecaution is necessarywhen any heater
is usedbyornearchildrenorinvalidsandwhen-
ever theheater isleft operating and unattended.
4.Always unplug heaterwhen notinuse.
5.Donot operateanyheaterwith a damagedcord
orplugorafter the heater malfunctions, has
beendroppedor damagedinanymanner.
6.Any repairs to this appliance should be carried
out byaqualified service person.
7.Under no circumstances shouldthiselectricfire-
placebemodified. Partshavingtoberemoved
for servicingmustbereplacedprior to operat-
ing this electric fireplace again.
8.Donotuseoutdoors.
9.This heaterisnot intendedfor useinbathrooms,
laundry areasor similar indoor locations.Never
usethis appliance nearabathtubor other wa-
ter container.
10.Do not run cord under carpeting.Do not cover
cord with throw rugs,runnersorsimilar
coverings.Arrangecord away fromtrafficareas
andwhereit willnot betripped over.
11.Todisconnect heater,turn controls to OFF,then
removeplug fromoutlet.
12.Connect to properly groundedoutlets only.
13.Do not insertorallowforeign objects to enterany
ventilationorexhaust openingasthismaycause
electric shock, fire ordamage to the heater.
14.Toprevent a possible fire,donotblock air intakes
or exhaust in anymanner. Donot use onsoft
surfaces,suchasabed, whereopeningsmay
become blocked.
15.This heater gets hot and itcontains internalparts
thatsparks and arcs.Do notuse it in areas where
gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or
stored.
16.Usethisheateronlyasdescribed inthis manual.
Other usesnot recommended by themanufac-
turer may cause fire,electric shock, or injury.
17.Avoid the useofanextensioncordbecause it may
overheat and cause arisk of fire.However ifyou
must usean extension cord, thecordshallbe No.
1.0mm2minimum size andratednot less than
1900watt. The extensioncordmust beathree
wire cord with grounding type plug andcord
connector.
18. This electricfireplaceheater should notbeused
asadrying rack forclothing.Also, donot hang
Christmas stockings or decorations onor near it.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
A10 AMP,220 Volt, 50Hz circuitwith aproperly grounded outlet
isrequired.Preferably, the fireplacewillbe onadedicated
circuit. Other appliancesonthe same circuit maycause the
circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is on
operation. The unitcomes standard with a6’(1828mm)long
three wire cordexiting from the rear ofthe fireplace.Plan the
installationtoavoid the useofanextensioncord. If anexten-
sion cord must be used, itmust be aminimum 1.0 mm2three
wire with groundingtype plugconnectorandrated no less
than 1900 Watts. The cord shall not be morethan 20 feet in
length.

LOCATING YOURELECTRIC FIREPLACE
Your new freestandingelectric fireplacemay beinstalledvir-
tually anywhere inyourhome. Howeverwhenchoosinga
locationfor yournew electric fireplace, ensure that the gen-
eralinstructions are followed. For besteffect results,install
the electric fireplace out of direct sunlight.

4.Insert thepinon log 6totherecessedholeon
log4, andplacelog6asfigureshows.(SeeFIG5).
Installing logs for SFE33RE Series:
FIG1 1.Placelog1,log2andlog3intothe correspond-
ing holeson grate. (SeeFIG 2).
2.Insert the pinon oneend oflog 4to the recessed
holeon log 1, with the otherend of log 4placed
where marked.(See FIG 3).
3.Insert the pinon oneend oflog 5to the recessed
holeon log 2, with the otherend of log 5placed
wheremarked. (See FIG 4).

MAINTENANCEOFMOTORS
The motors used onthe fan and flame genera-
tor assembly areprelubricated forextended
bearinglife andrequireno further lubrication.
However, periodiccleaning/vacuuming ofthe
fan/heater unit isrecommended.
WARNING: Make sure that the
poweris turnedoffbefore
proceeding.
GLASSINFORMATION
1.Underno circumstances shouldthisproduct be
operatedwith missing or brokenglass.
2.Do notstrikeor slam theglass.
3.Do not use abrasive cleaners toclean the glass.
4.Replacement glass is availablefromthemanu-
facturerandreplacementshouldbecarried out
by aqualified serviceperson.

SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Disconnect power before
attemptinganymaintenance or
cleaning toreducetheriskoffire,
electricalshock or personal injury.
REPLACING LIGHTBULBS
This fireplace usesclear220Volt,60Watt,E-14
socket base lightbulbs(small base,chandelier
candle type). The 60Watt bulbsarelocatedunder
the log set/ember bed.For convenience, if oneof
the bulbs burns out, it may beagoodidea tore-
placeall ofthe light bulbs.
1. Turnoff powerto the unitbyunplugging the power cord.
2. Letfireplace cool if it hasbeenoperating.
3. Removethe twoscrewsonthetop corner ofscreen. Pull
the screen upwardslightly, and then pullout.
4.Remove the four screwsthat securethelog set/em-
berbedinposition.
5. Removelogset/emberbedandgrateassembly.
6.Examine the bulb(s)to determine which bulbs need
to be replaced.
7. While holdingthesocket, unscrew defective bulb(s)
counterclockwise.
8.Installthe newlightbulb(s) by holding the socket and
screwingclockwise.
9.Reinstallthe log set/ember bed,grate assembly and
screen.Followthe aboveprocedure inreverse order.
WARNING: Donotexceed 60 Watts
per bulb. The useofhigher rated
bulbsmay result in afire causing
propertydamageandpersonal
injury.
Note: SFE23REuses three lights bulbs.
SFE33REuses fourlights bulbs.

Operating Instructions

Before programming your transmitter you
mustfirstinserttwo “AAA”batteries.
Make sure the main power on/off switch is
“ON”position.
1. The ON/OFF button:
*Note: When Fireplaceis first operated,
the defaultsetting willbe: brightest
flame,andfullheatingToturn onHeater,
press the “ON/OFF”button. To turn off
heater,pressthe “ON/OFF”button again.
2. Flamebrightness setting:
Thereare threesettings forflame
brightness: “1”,“2”and“3(OFF)”.
Press button todecrease the
flame brightness, andbutton to
increasetheflamebrightness.
3. Heatinglevel setting:
There are threesettingsfor heatinglevel:
“HI”, “LOW”,and “OFF”.Press button
to decrease the Heating level and
buttonto increase the Heatinglevel.
If set on “HI”, two heatingelements will
be approximately 90°F; set on “LOW”,
the set room temperature will be
approximately70°F.
Press “ON/OFF”button to turn on or off
the fireplace.
Press “HEATAdjust”button tocontrol
heater.
Press “FLAME ”button to control the
Flamebrightness.
