A. ADAPTIVE FOOTPLATE ANGLE ADJUST ENT
If there is already an Adaptive Flip-back Footplate installed on the chair. You will simply
need to adjust the angle(A) of the footplate for the support and comfort of the user.
1. Setting the foot angle
a. Place your wheelchair on a table or flat work surface for best results.
b. Using a 2.5mm, and 4mm hex key, loosen the two set screws(B), and the clamp
screws(C) slightly, and adjust the footplate to the correct angle.
c. ake sure the clamp screws(C) are tight,ened to 55 in-lbs and tighten the set
screws(B) to a maximum of 40 in-lbs (do not over-tighten).
NOTE–The footplate should be able to move freely and flip-back if needed. The angle
adjustment depends on the location of the socket head screws (D) which
act as stops for the footplate to set the angle.
DO NOT overtighten the set screws! This can damage the footplate.
B. ADAPTIVE FLIP-BACK FOOTPLATE INSTALLATION
Here you will find the instructions necessary to install the Adaptive Flip-back Footplate kit
on your chair. After you are done, you will simply need to adjust the angle of the footplate
as shown above, for the support and comfort of the user.
1. Remove your existing Footplate/Footrest assembly.
a. Place your Wheelchair on a Table or Flat work surface for best installation results.
b. Using a 4mm Hex Key, Loosen the set screws(E) and remove the old footplate and
footrest tube assembly from the front frame of your chair.

c. Torque wrench and hex bits

2. Replacing or adding footrest Height Extension tubes.
a. If you ordered Footrest Height Extension tubes(F), remove the screws(H) and
bolts( I ) to insert the new height Extension tubes. Attach these with the hard-
ware (H and I ) and tighten to 60 in-lbs.
b. Using hardware provided, attach the footplate to the Footrest tube assembly.
Standard footplate (Fig. 4), and/or Carbon footplate (Fig. 5)
c. Finish installation by inserting the Footrest assembly into the front Frame and
tighten the set screws(E) and (G) to 55in-lbs with a 4mm hex key.
C. CHECKOUT
1. Double-check Orientation and Torque on all Hardware.
a. Check to make sure all hardware is tight and attached correctly (Figure 4)
b. Be sure to set the preferred Angle on the footplate as shown in Section A.
c. ake sure the footplate is at least 1.5” to 2.0” above the riding surface in order to
avoid obstacles that could lead to falls or Tip-overs.
d. Using a torque wrench and socket wrench check all hardware for the correct
torque.
