Installing Batteries
You will need...
Four AA batteries for the car
One 9V battery for the transmitter
Phillips screwdriver
Put AA Batteries in the School Bus
• Slide the L/OFF/H switch on the bottom
of the School Bus to OFF.
• Loosen the screw on the battery compart-
ment with a Phillipsscrewdriver and turn
the latch on the side of the battery compartment clockwise to unlock it.
• Remove the battery compartment box from battery compartment.
• Insert four AA batteries and match the + and - signs with the product.
• Replace the box and turn the latch counterclockwise to lock it in place.
Then, secure it with a screw.
Put 9V Battery in Transmitter
• Remove the scew on the battery com-
partment cover with a Phillips screw-
driverandslidethecoverofftoremove
it.
• Insert one 9V battery and match the +
and - signs with the product.
• Replace the cover and secure with the
screw.
Driving the School Bus
• Slide the L/OFF/H switch on the back of
the School Bus to L(Low)or H(High)to
select the volume level for the melody.
• Press the upright arrow on your transmitter
to drive forward.
• Press the circle arrow to drive the School
Bus backward and in a circle.
• Release the buttons to stop the School
Bus.
When the School Bus is moving forward, the passengers move
from side to side while listening to the melody that plays. No
melody is heard when moving backward.

Your School Bus might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating
properly. To determine whether your School Bus is causing the interference, turn
off your School Bus. If the interference goes away, your School Bus is causing it.
Try to eliminate the interference by:
• moving your School Bus away from the receiver
• contacting your local RadioShack store for help
If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that you stop using your
School Bus.

• Running your School Bus for long periods of
time can generate a high heat level, which
results in wear and tear on the motor. When
the battery power dies in your School Bus,
let the vehicle cool down for 10 minutes
before installing new batteries.
• Ifthemotorruns,butdoesnotrespondtothe
transmitter, move the transmitter closer to
the School Bus and try again.
• If someone is using a CB nearby, this may
cause interference. Move your School Bus
away from the CB.
• You cannot operate your School Bus near
devices with transmitters that use the same
frequency (27 MHz).
• The School Bus is not suitable for children under three years of age.
• Never play with the School Bus in thestreet.
• Handle the SchoolBus gentlyand carefully. Do not drop it.
• Keep the School Bus away from dustand dirt.
• Wipe the School Bus and transmitter with a damp cloth occasionally to
keep them looking new. Do not immerse them in water.
• Keepthis owner’s manual for future use.
• Modifying or tampering with the School Bus’ internalcomponents can
cause a malfunction and invalidate its warranty, as well as void your
FCC authorization to use it. If your School Bus is not performing as it
should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
• Any batteries purchasedfor use in this toy may pose a hazard to children.
• If your School Bus moves slowly, or not at all, replacethe batteries with
alkaline batteries from RadioShack.
• If the School Bus moves slowly after installing fresh batteries, check the
wheels for lint, thread, hair, and/or dust.
• When the transmitter’s range decreases, replace your batteries.
• Never leave dead or weak batteries in the School Bus or transmitter.
• Use fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type only.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Never mix alkaline batteries with other types of batteries.
• If youdonot plan to use theSchoolBus for several days,remove all bat-
teries from the transmitter and the School Bus. Batteries can leak chemi-
cals that may destroy electronic parts.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them.
