This operator manual is intended for the operator of this
converter.
iThis operator manual belongs with the
converter. A copy should be kept with
the converter at all times.
In the event of the converter being transferred, all
documentation must be transferred with the converter.

The manufacturer and its authorized distributor are not
liable for any accidents or damages resulting from the failure
to comply with warnings or instructions depicted on this
converter or contained in this operator manual, including:
- Improper use or maintenance
- Use for applications or under conditions other than those
outlined in this operator manual
- Use of unauthorized parts
- Repairs or modications made without the permission of
the manufacturer
- Unauthorized alterations to the converter such as:
a) Alterations to the control system

SAFETY
This converter has been designed for safe use in conformance
with the application, conditions and rules described in this
operator manual. Anyone that works with or on this converter
must read the operator manual and follow the instructions
carefully.
Operators
Only those who read and understand the Sections “Safety”
and “Operator Instructions” should operate the converter.
Special training is not required.
Operator tasks include:
• Loading and feeding the paper rolls
• Operating the converter
• Weekly maintenance (see section 3.8)
◦Remove paper scraps
◦Remove excessive paper dust
Service technicians
Only service technicians employed by Ranpak or a Ranpak
distributor who are in possession of a certicate issued by
Ranpak service department are permitted to conduct service
on the converter. For these individuals, a separate service
manual is available.
Rules of Safety
• Safety devices are not allowed to be switched off or
removed
• Do not remove or cover warning labels
• Do not reach inside the converter
• Keep the working area clean and free of obstacles
• Unplug converter and gather all loose cords before
moving the converter
• Pay attention when using hand tools such as knives,
scissors etc, due to the risk of cutting
• Ensure that:
◦cords cannot be damaged
◦the converter is acclimatised when taken from a cold
to a warm area.
◦ the working area is sufciently lit
◦ the working area is sufciently ventilated
• Do not use cable reels. When using an extension cable,
note that the diameter must be at least 1,5 mm2 (14AWG)
with a maximum length of 10 m (33 ft).
• Plug the converter always into a grounding-type wall
socket
• Pay attention to ergonomic factors such as lifting,
bending, reaching, etc. during work on the converter
Improper Use
The following applications or acts are not suitable for the
converter, and constitute improper use of the converter:
• Use of materials other than those produced by Ranpak
and intended for use in the converter
• Use outside or in a humid area
• Use in areas subject to an explosion hazard
• Washing or cleaning the converter with excessive
quantities of water
• Standing on the converter
• Placing objects against or on top of the converter
• Moving the converter while it is functioning or connected
to the AC power supply.
Work Area
In order to operate the converter, you need a 1 meter (3 foot)
wide, open work area in front of the converter. From this
space, all operating actions can be carried out.
Converter Warnings
The warnings attached to the converter must remain visible
and legible at all times. Ask your distributor to replace them
when necessary. Do not block or cover any of the warnings.

Dangerous Substances for Humans and
the Environment
Emission during Operation
The converter does not produce any harmful exhaust
fumes during operation. The converter does not contain
any substances that may yield dangerous emissions. The
converter can produce paper dust during operation, ensure
sufciently ventilation
Protection of the Environment
The environment can be endangered by:
• Oil in the speed reducer of the drive system
• Oil or grease in the bearings of the converter
• Grease used when mounting screws and bolts in
aluminium parts
These substances must be treated as chemical waste for
which the regulations of the local law apply. Although it is not
permitted to work on the converter yourself, under certain
circumstances, it may be necessary to remove or replace
one of the substances mentioned above. To these, the local
regulations apply. When replacing these substances, use
the recommended or supplied type from the manufacturer,
Ranpak.
Calamities
There are no special regulations for calamities. In case of
re, use a normal extinguishing agent. When extinguishing
with water, ensure the power voltage is turned off.
Moving the Converter
• Switch the converter off
• Remove the power plug from the wall socket
• Collect any loose cords
• Move the converter to the required location
Warning!
Be careful:
The converter weighs ± 31 kg (68 lbs.).
Warning!
Ensure that the cords cannot be
damaged. Pay special attention to areas
where people work with vehicles (such as
forklift trucks).
In general
Before performing maintenance on the converter, the
electrical supply must be turned off by pulling the power plug
from the wall socket.

1. TRANSPORT / STORAGE /
INSTALLATION
1.1 Transport
• Switch the converter off
• Remove the power plug from the wall socket
• Collect any loose cords
• Move the converter to the required location
Warning!
Be careful:
The converter weighs ± 31 kg (68 lbs.)
Warning!
Ensure that the cords cannot be
damaged. Pay special attention to areas
where people work with vehicles (such as
forklift trucks).
For transport over longer distances strap the converter onto
the enclosed pallet. Then the converter can be lifted with a
forklift truck.
1.2 Storage
• The storage room must be dry
• The converter must not be set up or stored in a place
where it is subject to moisture or water
• Before using the converter after a long storage period, it
must be inspected by a trained service technician
Warning!
If the converter is taken from a cold to a
warm area, temporary condensation can
form on the converter (both internally
and externally). Turning the converter on
right away may damage the converter and
create danger for the operator. Let the
converter reach room temperature before
turning it on.
1.3 Installation
1.3.1 Mechanical
Warning!
Warning: the assembled converter is
heavy. Be careful!
The converter can be easily placed in the desired position.
The paper outlet should be placed above the packing station.
1.3.2 Electrical
The electrical connection regulations are mentioned in
paragraph 2.2 “Electrical Connections”. In addition, all local
connection regulations must be followed.
• Connect the foot switch.
• Plug the power cable in the converter.
• Insert the power plug into the wall socket with ground
contact.
• Do not use cable reels. When using an extension cable,
note that the diameter must be at least 1,5 mm2(14AWG)
with a maximum length of 10 m (33 ft.)

2. INTRODUCTION
2.1 Geami WrapPak HV
2.1.1 Goal and purpose of the converter
Geami WrapPak is a protective packaging solution that is
composed of two layers of paper. One layer is a tissue paper
interleaf and the other layer is a die-cut kraft paper. When the
die-cut kraft paper is pulled, the paper narrows creating a 3D
honeycomb web of angled cells. The combination of the die-
cut and tissue paper papers provides a protective packaging
solution. The Geami WrapPak paper is used in conjunction
with the Geami WrapPak HV converter, which is an electrical
driven converter.

2.2.2 Product Processing
The product to be processed is composed of two layers of
paper. One layer is a tissue paper interleaf and the other
layer is a die-cut kraft paper. The weight of a roll of Interleaf
paper is approx. 5 kg (11 lbs) and a roll of die-cut Kraft paper
is approx. 10 kg (22 lbs).
2.2.3 Consumer Goods
Never x the plies together as this will seriously damage the
converter.
2.2.4 Applied Directives and Standards
CE-marking applies to this converter. This means that the
converter meets the applicable European safety and health
directives and standards. The declaration of conformity
indicates which directives and standards apply.

3. OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS
Warning!
Before operating the converter, the
information from Section “Safety” must
be read and understood.
3.1 Construction and Control
• 1 foot switch
• 1 On/Off power switch (backside)
• 1 On/Off main switch (front)
• 1 line power fuses
3.2 Turning the Converter On
First, check that the following conditions are met:
• The power cable is plugged into the converter.
• The power switch next to the power cable is set to “I”
• The foot switch is plugged in
• All covers are closed
• Hands are free from the converter exit chute
Then follow these steps:
• Plug the power plug into the wall socket with ground
contact
• Set the main switch to “I”
The converter is now ready for use.
3.3 Loading the Paper
Warning!
Pay attention when using hand tools
such as knives, scissors etc, due to the
risk of cutting!
Warning!
Pay attention to ergonomic factors such
as lifting, bending, reaching, etc.!
To load paper rolls in the converter, complete the following
steps:
1.
Turn the speed control down to a slow speed.
2.
Place a roll of die-cut paper on the top back paper
support bracket so that the bottom of the roll unwinds
towards the machine. Caution: Mind your hands, risk to
pinch,
3.
Fold each corner down towards the centre, forming an
arrow
4. Insert the paper into the rear slot
5.
Press the foot switch until the paper comes through the
front rollers.
6.
Manually pull die-cut paper towards you untill it expands
to its maximum.
7.
Place a roll of interleaf paper on the top front paper
support bracket so that the bottom of the roll unwinds
towards the machine. Caution: Mind your hands, risk to
pinch,

Insert the interleaf into the top front slot

Press the foot switch until the paper comes through the
front rollers.
10.
Turn the speed control to the required speed.
3.4 Usage of the Operator Devices

3.5 Operating the converter
After completing all required actions as stipulated in section
3.2 “Turning the Converter On” the Geami WrapPak material
can be produced:
• Turn the speed control to the required speed.
• Press the foot switch to initiate a feed;
• While feeding the paper pull the paper tight and
simultaneously wrap your product on the packstation.
• Release the foot switch as soon as the desired length is
reached.
•
Pull the paper tight and tilt the wrapped product so that
the die-cut paper together with the interleaf can be torn
using a at hand.
3.6 Turning the Converter Off
After use, the converter can be turned off by setting the main
switch to the “Off” or “0” position.
3.7 Cleaning
Any personnel can clean the exterior of the converter.
Prior to cleaning, remove the power plug from the wall socket.
The converter can be cleaned with:
• A damp cloth
• Vacuum-cleaner.
The converter must not be cleaned with:
• Detergents
• Excessive amounts of water.
If the converter is cleaned by someone other than the
operator of the converter (e.g. a cleaning department or
external cleaning company), these persons must have the
correct instructions to safely carry out the cleaning activities

3.8 Maintenance
Before performing maintenance on the converter, the
electrical supply must be turned off by pulling the power plug
from the wall socket.
Warning!
Pay attention to sharp edges and corners
of the converter due to the risk of cutting.
Warning!
Do not operate the converter when
the safety devices are switched off or
removed.
Cleaning of the converter should be performed at least once
a week:
• Remove paper scraps.
• Wipe with a dry, damp cloth to remove excess paper dust.
At least once a year the converter needs to be inspected by
a qualied person.
The following points need to be checked:
• Various converter adjustments
• Operation of the safety provisions
• Legibility of the warning stickers
• Wear and tear of parts
• Clean cutting area
• Quality of the Geami WrapPak end product.
3.8.1 Repair / Replacing Parts
Repairs can only be carried out by a qualied service
technician.
• Only Ranpak supplied parts are permitted for use as
replacement parts.
• Parts can be ordered by a Ranpak distributor.
• Deviating from the instructions above can affect the
safety of the converter. The manufacturer cannot accept
liability for such deviations

The legend plate is applied to the converter and contain the

on the converter. If any of these labels are illegible they
must be replaced. Upon request, your distributor can send
you new labels. It is not permitted to remove or cover safety
labels.

VEILIGHEID

Operators
Alleen degenen die de inhoud van de hoofdstukken
“Veiligheid” en “Bedieningsvoorschriften” uit deze
handleiding leest en begrijpt mogen de machine bedienen.
Een speciale opleiding is niet vereist.
De taken van de operator zijn:
• Laden en invoeren van de rollen papier.
• Het bedienen van de machine.
• Wekelijks onderhoud (zie 3.8)
◦Verwijderen van papier snippers
◦Verwijderen van papierstof
Servicepersoneel
Alleen servicepersoneel in dienst van Ranpak of de
distributeur die in bezit zijn van een certicaat, afgegeven
door Ranpak service-afdeling is toegestaan onderhoud
aan de machine uit te voeren. Voor deze personen is een
aparte handleiding verkrijgbaar.
Veiligheidsregels
• Veiligheidsvoorzieningen mogen niet verwijderd of
buiten werking gesteld worden.
• Het is niet toegestaan om waarschuwings labels te
verwijderen of af te dekken.
• Reik niet in de machine.
• Houd de werkplek schoon en vrij van obstakels.
• Trek de stekker uit de wandcontact doos en verzamel
alle losse kabels alvorens de machine te verplaatsen.
• Let op voor snij gevaar bij gebruik van hulpmiddelen
zoals messen, scharen enz.
• Zorg dat:
◦de snoeren niet beschadigd kunnen raken.
◦de machine eerst op omgevingstemperatuur kan
komen nadat de machine vanuit een koude in een
warme ruimte gebracht wordt.
◦er voldoende omgevingsverlichting is.
◦er voldoende ventilatie is.
• Gebruik geen kabelhaspels. Bij een verlengsnoer moet
de aderdoorsnede tenminste 1,5 mm2bedragen bij een
maximale lengte van 10 meter.
• Gebruik bij aansluiten van de machine altijd een
wandcontactdoos voorzien van randaarde.
• Let op voor ergonomische omstandigheden zoals tillen,
bukken, reiken enz. tijdens werkzaamheden aan de
machine
Niet toegestaan gebruik
De machine is niet geschikt voor de volgende toepassingen
of handelingen, deze zijn daarom verboden:
• Andere materialen of papiersoorten dan het door
Ranpak gemaakte papier.
• Gebruik in open lucht of natte ruimte.
• Gebruik in explosiegevaarlijke omgevingen.
• De machine afwassen of schoonmaken met overbodig
veel water.
• Op de machine staan.
• Voorwerpen tegen of op de machine leggen.
• De machine verplaatsen terwijl deze werkt of op het
netspanning aangesloten is.
Werkplek
Voor de bediening is een ruimte van 1 meter breed langs
de gehele voorzijde van de machine vereist. Van hieruit
kunnen alle bedieningshandelingen verricht worden.

Waarschuwingen op de machine
De op de machine aangebrachte waarschuwingen moeten
duidelijk zichtbaar en leesbaar blijven. Vraag aan uw
distributeur ze te vernieuwen.
Verdere informatie betreffende de locatie van de labels

Gevaarlijke stoffen voor mens en milieu
Emissie tijdens bedrijf
De machine produceert tijdens bedrijf geen schadelijke
uitlaatgassen. De machine bevat geen stoffen die
emissiegevaar kunnen opleveren. Tijdens bedrijf kan er
papierstof vrijkomen, zorg voor voldoende ventilatie.
Bescherming van het milieu
Gevaar voor het milieu is aanwezig in de vorm van:
• Olie in de reductors van beide aandrijvingen.
• olie of vet in de lagers in de machine.
• vet gebruikt bij het monteren van schroeven en bouten
in aluminium delen.
Deze stoffen dienen als chemisch afval behandeld te
worden. Hoewel het niet toegestaan is om zelf aan
de machine te werken, kan het in bepaalde gevallen
noodzakelijk zijn om een van bovenstaande stoffen te
verwijderen of vervangen. Hiervoor gelden de plaatselijke
wettelijke voorschriften. Gebruik bij vervanging alleen het
door de fabrikant Ranpak voorgeschreven of geleverde
type.
Calamiteiten
Er zijn geen bijzondere voorschriften voor calamiteiten.
In geval van brand kunnen de gebruikelijke blusmiddelen
toegepast worden. Bij het blussen met water dient de
netspanning uitgeschakeld te zijn!
Verplaatsen van de machine
• Schakel de machine uit.
• Neem de stekker uit de wandcontactdoos;
• Verzamel alle losse kabels.
• Verplaats de machine naar de gewenste locatie.

Voorzichtigheid is geboden!
De machine weegt ± 31 Kg.
Waarschuwing!
Zorg dat de snoeren niet
beschadigd kunnen raken. Let
vooral op plaatsen waar met
voertuigen (zoals heftrucks)
gewerkt wordt.
Algemeen
Alvorens werkzaamheden aan de machine uit te voeren
dient de elektrische voeding uitgeschakeld te worden door
de netstekker uit de wandcontactdoos te nemen.

1. TRANSPORT / OPSLAG /
INSTALLEREN
1.1 Transport
• Schakel de machine uit.
• Neem de stekker uit de wandcontactdoos;
• Verzamel alle losse kabels.
• Verplaats de machine naar de gewenste locatie.
Waarschuwing!
Voorzichtigheid is geboden!
De machine weegt ± 31 Kg.
Waarschuwing!
Zorg dat de snoeren niet
beschadigd kunnen raken. Let
vooral op plaatsen waar met
voertuigen (zoals heftrucks)
gewerkt wordt.
Voor transport over grotere afstanden dient de machine
vast op de meegeleverde pallet geplaatst te worden.
Vervolgens kan de machine met een heftruck opgetild
worden.
1.2 Opslag
• Opslagruimte dient droog te zijn.
• De machine mag niet opgesteld of gestald worden op
een plaats waar de machine aan vocht of water wordt
blootgesteld.
• Na een langdurige opslag dient de machine voor
ingebruikname door getraind servicepersoneel
geïnspecteerd te worden.
Waarschuwing!
Indien de machine vanuit een
koude in een warme ruimte
gebracht wordt, kan tijdelijk
condensatie optreden (ook
inwendig in electrische delen).
Direct inschakelen kan schade
aan de machine en gevaar
voor de bediener opleveren.
Laat de machine eerst op
omgevingstemperatuur komen!
1.3 Installeren
1.3.1 Mechanisch
Waarschuwing!
De machine is zwaar.
Voorzichtigheid is geboden!
De machine kan eenvoudig in de gewenste positie worden
geplaatst. Papieruitvoer dient boven de pakplaats te
worden geplaatst.
1.3.2 Elektrisch
De elektrische aansluitvoorschriften staan vermeld in
hoofdstuk 2.2 “Specicaties”. Tevens dienen de plaatselijke
aansluitvoorschriften steeds in acht genomen te worden.
• Sluit de voetpedaal aan.
• Steek de netstekker in een wandcontactdoos.
• Gebruik geen kabelhaspels. Bij een verlengsnoer moet
de aderdoorsnede tenminste 1,5 mm2bedragen bij een
maximale lengte van 10 meter.
