Battery replacement
Whenthebatterybecomesweak,theoperatingdistanceoftheremotecontrolisgreatlyreducedandyouwillneedto
replace it.
Note: If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the battery to avoid damage caused by
batteryleakagecorrosion.
Warning:
• Donotdisposeofbatteryinre;batterymayexplodeorleak.
• Batteryshallnotbeexposedtoexcessiveheatsuchassunshine,reorthelike.
• Dangerofexplosionifbatteryisincorrectlyreplaced.Replaceonlywiththesameorequivalenttype.
Caution:
Whendiscardingbattery,environmentalproblemsmustbeconsideredandlocalrulesorlawsgoverningthedisposal
of these battery must be strictly followed.
Using the remote control correctly
• PointtheremotecontrolattheREMOTESENSOR
located on front of the unit.
• Whenthereisastrongambientlightsource,the
performanceoftheinfraredREMOTESENSORmay
be degraded, causing unreliable operation.
• The recommended eective range for remote
operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).

Inserting your iPod / iPhone / iPad
1. InsertyouriPod/iPhoneintotheconnectorinthedock.
2. Put your iPad on the stand (landscape or portrait orientation of iPad is available). Insert the connector cord to the
iPad.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit. Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoiPod/iPhoneoriPadmode.
Note:whenyouselecttheiPod/iPhonemode,thesourceindicatorwillturnred.SelecttheiPadmode,thesource
indicatorwillturnorange.EnsureyoudoNOThaveadevicepluggedintotheLINEINjack.
Note:
• TheiPod/iPhone/iPadwillchargeautomatically(untilfullycharged)onceitisdockedinthecradle(exceptifthe
unitisinRadiomode).iPodClassic(1Gand2G)willnotcharge.
• NotethatnotallfunctionsofsomeiPod/iPhone/iPadmodelscanbecontrolledviatheremotecontrolofthisunit.
Ifnecessary,operateyouriPod/iPhone/iPaddirectlybyusingitsscreen.

Using the AC Adapter
Using an AC adapter other than the one supplied with
the unit may damage the unit.
CAUTIONS:
• Beforeuse, ensurethe ratedvoltageof theadapter
matches your local voltage.
• TheincludedACadapterisforusewiththisunitonly.
Do not use it with other equipment.
• Ifyouarenot goingtousetheunitforalongtime,
disconnecttheACadapterfromthewalloutlet.
• Wheneverthe AC adapteris plugged into awall
outlet, electricity is running through the unit, even
when the power switch is turned o.
FM ANTENNA
Do not connect the FM antenna to an outside antenna.

Press the MUTE button to turn o the sound (thepowerindicatorwillblink). Press the MUTE button again or

"Settings"menuonyouriPhoneoriPad).Thisoptionenablesyoutocontroltheunit’sAudioEQPresets(itdoesn’t
aectyouriPod’s/iPhone’s/iPad’sinternalEQPresets).TheEQPresetyouchosewillstayactiveontheunit–even
afteryouremoveyouriPod/iPhone/iPad.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
AUDIO EQ PRESETS
Connecting to LINE IN for other sound sources
YoucanconnectaudiodevicessuchasyourCDplayerorMP3playertotheunitviatheLINEINjack.Todothis,connect
an audiocablefromthelineoutorheadphoneoutjackoftheotheraudiodevicetotheLINEINjackontherearofunit.
Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoLINEINmode(thesource indicator should be o).
Note:
WhenconnectingtheLine-incabletotherearofunit.EnsuretheLINEINsourceisselected(thesource indicator should
be o). We recommend you unplug the device from the LINE IN jack when not in use.
LINE IN CONNECTION
1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on.
2. Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoFMRADIOmode(the source indicator will turn green).
3. Tap the button to tune down radio frequency or tap the button to tune up radio frequency.
4. Adjustthevolumelevel.
Search to Next / Previous Station
Press and hold the / button (or / buttononremotecontrol)for 2secondsto searchfornext/previous
available station.
Programming a Station to a Preset
• Usethe and buttons (or and buttons on remote control) to tune to a station.
• PressandholdtheSOURCE button on the remote control for 3 seconds to save it as a preset station.
Note: The unit can save up to ten stations as presets.
Selection of a Preset
Tap the / buttonontheremotecontroltoselectthenext/previousstationpreset.Youcanalsopressandholdthe
SOURCEbuttonontheunitfor1-2secondstorecalllast-usedpresetorincrementtonextpreset.
For Better Reception
Fullyunwindtheantennawire.Extendtheantennawireandplaceitinthepositionthatsoundsbest.
Note:
• DonotconnecttheFMantennatoanoutsideantenna.
• Ifyouwishtoresetyourunittoitsoriginalfactorysettings,pleasesimultaneouslypressandholdtheVOL- button
and SOURCE button for ve seconds in FM mode - the unit will reset and switch to standby mode.

System does not turn on.
I can't hear any sound.

properly or does not install properly.
iPod / iPhone / iPad
• Make sure AC adapter is secure in the outlet, and oulet has the Power
Indicator should be on.
• PresstheVOL + repeatedly to ensure volume level is appropriate.
• If listening to iPod / iPhone / iPad, please ensure the LINE IN jack does
NOT have a plug in it, please ensure that the source indicator is orange
(if listening to iPad) or red (if listening to iPhone or iPod) - press SOURCE
button to select the desired source.
• RemoveyouriPod/iPhone/iPadfromthedockandcheckforobstructionon
theconnectorinthedockandonyouriPod/iPhone/iPad.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
I like using the Dock-Mate App to
tune the unit to an FM station, but I
don’talwayshavemyiPod/iPhone
/iPadavailable.
• WehighlyrecommendyouuseDock-Matetotunetheunittoyourfavorite
station,thenfollowthestepsonPage5(under“ListeningToTheRadio)to
store this station as one of your unit’s internal presets. Repeat this process
forallyourfavoritestations.FormoreFAQsandtipsonusingDock-Mate,
please visit www.RCAav.com/dockmate.
The unit’s source indicator is
blinking. • If you’ve set an alarm in the unit using the Dock-Mate App, and have subsequently lost power to the unit (and thus the unit’s internal clock is
incorrect),thesourceindicatorwillashtoalertyou–don’tworry,thealarm
won’t go o in this state.
• Youcanre-sync/correcttheunit’sclocksimplybydockingyouriPod/iPhone
/iPadandopening Dock-Mate(ensureyouhave“TimeAutoSync”setting
turnedto“ON”).
• Ifyoudon’thaveyouriPod/iPhone/iPadavailable,youcanalsopermanently
disablethealarm(andthusstopthesourceindicatorashing)bypressing
andholdingtheVOL-buttonandtheSOURCE button for at least 5 seconds
while in FM Radio mode.

AVC MULTIMEDIA (“AVC”) makesthefollowinglimitedwarranty.Thislimitedwarrantyextendtotheoriginalconsumer
purchaser and is limited to non-commercial use of the product.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
AVCproductspurchasedintheUnitedStatesarewarrantedtobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanshipfor
a period of one year from the date of their original retail purchase. If the unit fails to conform to this warranty, we will
service the product using new or refurbished parts and products, at AVC’s sole discretion.
During a period of one year from the eective warranty date, AVC will provide, when needed, service labor to repair a
manufacturing defect at its designated Service Center.
New or remanufactured replacements for defective parts or products will be used for repairs by AVC at its designated
Service Center for one year from the eective warranty date. Such replacement parts or products are warranted for an
additional one year from the date of repair or replacement. The Customer will be required to ship the unit to the Service
CenterindicatedatthetimeCustomerSupportiscontactedtomakethenecessaryrepairs.Thecustomerisresponsible
for all transportation charges to the service facility.
Packaging and Shipping Instruction
WhenyousendtheproducttotheAVCservicefacilityyoumustusetheoriginalcartonboxandpackingmaterialoran
equivalent as designated by AVC.
LIMITED WARRANTY

(1) You must retain the original sale receipt to provide proof of purchase.
(2)ThesewarrantiesareeectiveonlyiftheproductispurchasedandoperatedintheU.S.A.orCanada.

the warranty or under any statute, or law of the United States or any state thereof, is hereby limited to one year from the
