Battery replacement
Whenthebatterybecomesweak,theoperatingdistanceoftheremotecontrolisgreatlyreducedandyouwillneedto
replace it.
Note: If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the battery to avoid damage caused by
batteryleakagecorrosion.

• Donotdisposeofbatteryinre;batterymayexplodeorleak.
• Batteryshallnotbeexposedtoexcessiveheatsuchassunshine,reorthelike.
• Dangerofexplosionifbatteryisincorrectlyreplaced.Replaceonlywiththesameorequivalenttype.
Caution:
Whendiscardingbattery,environmentalproblemsmustbeconsideredandlocalrulesorlawsgoverningthedisposal
of these battery must be strictly followed.
Using the remote control correctly
• PointtheremotecontrolattheREMOTESENSOR
located on front of the unit.
• Whenthereisastrongambientlightsource,the
performanceoftheinfraredREMOTESENSORmay
be degraded, causing unreliable operation.
• The recommended eective range for remote
operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).

Inserting your iPod / iPhone / iPad
1. InsertyouriPod/iPhoneintotheconnectorinthedock.
2. Put your iPad on the stand (landscape or portrait orientation of iPad is available). Insert the connector cord to the
iPad.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the unit. Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoiPod/iPhoneoriPadmode.
Note:whenyouselecttheiPod/iPhonemode,thesourceindicatorwillturnred.SelecttheiPadmode,thesource
indicatorwillturnorange.EnsureyoudoNOThaveadevicepluggedintotheLINEINjack.
Note:
• TheiPod/iPhone/iPadwillchargeautomatically(untilfullycharged)onceitisdockedinthecradle(exceptifthe
unitisinRadiomode).iPodClassic(1Gand2G)willnotcharge.
• NotethatnotallfunctionsofsomeiPod/iPhone/iPadmodelscanbecontrolledviatheremotecontrolofthisunit.
Ifnecessary,operateyouriPod/iPhone/iPaddirectlybyusingitsscreen.
• WhenplayingiPod/iPhone/iPad,youcanusetheMENU, , or SELECT button on the remote control to enter the
menuofiPod/iPhone/iPadtoselect.
• DisconnecttheLine-incablewhenplayingiPod/iPhone/iPad.
Pausing playback
• Pressthe button.

Skipping to another track
• Presseitherthe or button according to the desired direction.

Locating a particular point on a track

Using the AC Adapter
Using an AC adapter other than the one supplied with
the unit may damage the unit.
CAUTIONS:
• Beforeuse, ensurethe ratedvoltageof theadapter
matches your local voltage.
• TheincludedACadapterisforusewiththisunitonly.
Do not use it with other equipment.
• Ifyouarenot goingtousetheunitforalongtime,
disconnecttheACadapterfromthewalloutlet.
• Wheneverthe AC adapteris plugged into awall
outlet, electricity is running through the unit, even
when the power switch is turned o.
FM ANTENNA
Do not connect the FM antenna to an outside antenna.

Note:
Press the MUTE button to turn o the sound (thepowerindicatorwillblink). Press the MUTE button again or
press the VOL+ / - buttons to unmute.
DockingyouriPod/iPhone/iPadwillenablea"Speakers"optiononyouriPod/iPhone/iPad(you’llnditunderthe
"Settings"menuonyouriPhoneoriPad).Thisoptionenablesyoutocontroltheunit’sAudioEQPresets(itdoesn’t
aectyouriPod’s/iPhone’s/iPad’sinternalEQPresets).TheEQPresetyouchosewillstayactiveontheunit–even
afteryouremoveyouriPod/iPhone/iPad.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
AUDIO EQ PRESETS
Connecting to LINE IN for other sound sources
YoucanconnectaudiodevicessuchasyourCDplayerorMP3playertotheunitviatheLINEINjack.Todothis,connect
an audiocablefromthelineoutorheadphoneoutjackoftheotheraudiodevicetotheLINEINjackontherearofunit.
Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoLINEINmode(thesource indicator should be o).
Note:
WhenconnectingtheLine-incabletotherearofunit.EnsuretheLINEINsourceisselected(thesource indicator should
be o). We recommend you unplug the device from the LINE IN jack when not in use.
LINE IN CONNECTION
1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on.
2. Press the SOURCEbuttontoswitchtoFMRADIOmode(the source indicator will turn green).
3. Tap the button to tune down radio frequency or tap the button to tune up radio frequency.
4. Adjustthevolumelevel.
Search to Next / Previous Station
Press and hold the / button (or / buttononremotecontrol)for 2secondsto searchfornext/previous
available station.
Programming a Station to a Preset
• Usethe and buttons (or and buttons on remote control) to tune to a station.
• PressandholdtheSOURCE button on the remote control for 3 seconds to save it as a preset station.
Note: The unit can save up to ten stations as presets.
Selection of a Preset
Tap the / buttonontheremotecontroltoselectthenext/previousstationpreset.Youcanalsopressandholdthe
SOURCEbuttonontheunitfor1-2secondstorecalllast-usedpresetorincrementtonextpreset.
For Better Reception
Fullyunwindtheantennawire.Extendtheantennawireandplaceitinthepositionthatsoundsbest.
Note:
• DonotconnecttheFMantennatoanoutsideantenna.
• Ifyouwishtoresetyourunittoitsoriginalfactorysettings,pleasesimultaneouslypressandholdtheVOL- button
and SOURCE button for ve seconds in FM mode - the unit will reset and switch to standby mode.

System does not turn on.
I can't hear any sound.

properly or does not install properly.

• Make sure AC adapter is secure in the outlet, and oulet has the Power
Indicator should be on.
• PresstheVOL + repeatedly to ensure volume level is appropriate.
• If listening to iPod / iPhone / iPad, please ensure the LINE IN jack does
NOT have a plug in it, please ensure that the source indicator is orange
(if listening to iPad) or red (if listening to iPhone or iPod) - press SOURCE
button to select the desired source.
• RemoveyouriPod/iPhone/iPadfromthedockandcheckforobstructionon
theconnectorinthedockandonyouriPod/iPhone/iPad.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
I like using the Dock-Mate App to
tune the unit to an FM station, but I
don’talwayshavemyiPod/iPhone
/iPadavailable.
• WehighlyrecommendyouuseDock-Matetotunetheunittoyourfavorite
station,thenfollowthestepsonPage5(under“ListeningToTheRadio)to
store this station as one of your unit’s internal presets. Repeat this process
forallyourfavoritestations.FormoreFAQsandtipsonusingDock-Mate,
please visit www.RCAav.com/dockmate.
The unit’s source indicator is
blinking. • If you’ve set an alarm in the unit using the Dock-Mate App, and have
subsequently lost power to the unit (and thus the unit’s internal clock is
incorrect),thesourceindicatorwillashtoalertyou–don’tworry,thealarm
won’t go o in this state.
• Youcanre-sync/correcttheunit’sclocksimplybydockingyouriPod/iPhone
/iPadandopening Dock-Mate(ensureyouhave“TimeAutoSync”setting
turnedto“ON”).
• Ifyoudon’thaveyouriPod/iPhone/iPadavailable,youcanalsopermanently
disablethealarm(andthusstopthesourceindicatorashing)bypressing
andholdingtheVOL-buttonandtheSOURCE button for at least 5 seconds
while in FM Radio mode.

AVC MULTIMEDIA (“AVC”) makesthefollowinglimitedwarranty.Thislimitedwarrantyextendtotheoriginalconsumer
purchaser and is limited to non-commercial use of the product.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
AVCproductspurchasedintheUnitedStatesarewarrantedtobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanshipfor
a period of one year from the date of their original retail purchase. If the unit fails to conform to this warranty, we will
service the product using new or refurbished parts and products, at AVC’s sole discretion.
During a period of one year from the eective warranty date, AVC will provide, when needed, service labor to repair a
manufacturing defect at its designated Service Center.
New or remanufactured replacements for defective parts or products will be used for repairs by AVC at its designated
Service Center for one year from the eective warranty date. Such replacement parts or products are warranted for an
additional one year from the date of repair or replacement. The Customer will be required to ship the unit to the Service
CenterindicatedatthetimeCustomerSupportiscontactedtomakethenecessaryrepairs.Thecustomerisresponsible
for all transportation charges to the service facility.
Packaging and Shipping Instruction
WhenyousendtheproducttotheAVCservicefacilityyoumustusetheoriginalcartonboxandpackingmaterialoran
equivalent as designated by AVC.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Responsibility
(1) You must retain the original sale receipt to provide proof of purchase.
(2)ThesewarrantiesareeectiveonlyiftheproductispurchasedandoperatedintheU.S.A.orCanada.
(3)Warrantiesextendonlytodefectsinmaterialorworkmanship,anddonotextendtoanyproductorpartswhichhave
been lost or discarded, or damage to product or parts caused by misuse, accident, improper operation or maintenance,

areexpresslylimitedtothedurationof thelimitedwarrantiessetforthabove.Withtheexceptionofanywarranties
impliedbystatelawasherebylimited,theforegoingwarrantyisexclusiveandinlieuofallotherwarranties,guarantees,
agreements and similar obligations of manufacturer or seller with respect to the repair or replacement of any parts. In
no event shall AVC be liable for consequential or incidental damages.
Noperson,agent,distributor,dealerorcompanyisauthorizedtochange,modifyorextendthetermsofthesewarranties
in any manner whatsoever. The time within action must be commenced to enforce any obligation of AVC arising under
the warranty or under any statute, or law of the United States or any state thereof, is hereby limited to one year from the
date of purchase. This limitation does not apply to implied warranties arising under state law.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and you may also have other rights, which may vary, from state to state. Some
