Clip - Allows user to attach to shirt pocket or
belt.
REC (Record indicator) - Lights when the
recorder is on.
PLAY/STOP - Used for playing messages,
scanning messages,and turning on the recorder.
Press again to stop playing messages. Press
during recording to display the total time
remaining.
SEARCH (>> forward) - Advances the
messages one at a time during playback.
Pressing and holding scans forward through the
messages during playback.During recording,
press SEARCH to advance to the next available
number for recording.
SEARCH (<< backward) - Moves backward
through the messages one at a time during
playback. Pressing and holding scans backward
through the messages during playback.
RECORD MODE/PAUSE - Used to turn on the
recorder and select the recording speed. Also
used to pause during playback or recording of
messages.
ERASE - Used to erase one or all messages
together with the REC/STOP button.
REC/STOP - Used for recording messages,
turning on the recorder, and erasing messages.
HOLD - Used to lock buttons to protect the
recorder from being turned on accidentally.
VOL (Volume) dial - Increases the audio.
PHONE (Earphone) jack - Monitor recordings
and messages and used as an output jack.
MIC jack - Used for an optional external
microphone and as an input jack.
Turning the Voice Recorder
ON/OFF
Pressing either the PLAY/STOP, REC MODE/
PAUSE, or REC/STOP button turns the voice
recorder on.The voice recorder turns off
automatically approximately two minutes after
no buttons have been pressed.
Features During Recording
• Pressing PAUSE during a recording pauses
for a maximum of 30 minutes.Pressing
PAUSE or REC resumes the recording.
• Each press of SEARCH Forward advances the
recorder to the next available message for
recording.This is useful when you want to
record back-to-back messages;you eliminate
pressing REC/STOP to stop and REC/STOP
to resume recording.
• When the maximum recording time is
reached or 199 messages are recorded,
recording additional messages is not
possible. Refer to the “Erasing Messages”
section to learn how to delete messages.
• Pressing PLAY/STOP during a recording
displays the total time remaining for
recording.
• You can monitor a recording by using the
earphone jack.
Installing the Batteries
1. Press and slide off the battery compartment
cover.
2. Insert 2 AAA-size alkaline batteries into the
battery compartment. Be sure the (+) cap
end of each battery is installed as shown on
the diagram in the battery compartment.
Installing the batteries incorrectly can
damage the unit.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover and
snap into place.
Note: Make sure the recorder is in the
STOP position when installing or
replacing batteries.
Checking the Battery Level
Press the PLAY/STOP or REC button to check
the battery level.

Note: If the display does not come on
after the batteries are replaced, check the
plus/minus polarities of the batteries to
make sure they are positioned correctly. If
the display still does not come on, remove
the batteries and contact your local dealer
for inspection or repair.
Recording From an
External Device
You can record information from an audio
source by following the instructions below.
Before recording,you may want to adjust the
volume control of the device from which you
will be recording.
From an External Audio Source
1. Make sure the voice recorder and the
external source are in the off positions
before connecting.
2. Connect the MIC INPUT jack on the voice
recorder to the MIC OUT, Earphone, or
AUDIO OUT jack on the audio source using
an audio cable.
3. Press the REC/STOP button on the voice
recorder to turn it on.
4. Press REC/STOP again to begin recording
and at the same time turn on the external
audio source. (Refer to the operating
instructions of the external source.)
5. When finished, press the REC/STOP and turn
off external source.
Notes:You may need to adjust the audio of
the external device to avoid sound
distortion.Also, you can use the earphone
to monitor the recording.
Playing Messages
Before you begin to play messages, you may
want to find a quite place to listen to the
messages because of the size of the speaker.
You can also use the earphone, instead, in
places where it is too loud to use the speaker.
1. Make sure the HOLD switch is in the off
position.
2. Press REC/STOP, PLAY/STOP, or REC MODE/
PAUSE to turn on the recorder.
3. Press PLAY/STOP to begin playback.
4. Adjust the VOL control.
5. Press PLAY/STOP to stop playback.
Note: The message number, recorder status,
and time appear in the display.
Features During Playback
• Pressing PAUSE during playback pauses for a
maximum of 30 minutes. Pressing REC
MODE/PAUSE or PLAY/STOP resumes
playback.
• Pressing and holding PLAY/STOP for
approximately two seconds scans through
each message one at a time allowing you to
listen to each message for approximately
five seconds. If you press the PLAY/STOP
button during SCAN, playback will resume
from the selected message number.
• Pressing SEARCH forward during playback
moves forward through the messages one by
one. Pressing and holding SEARCH forward
scans forward through all the messages.
Pressing SEARCH backward moves backward
through the messages one by one. Pressing
and holding SEARCH backward scans
backwards through the messages.
• Refer to the “Erasing Messages” section to
learn how to delete messages.
• You can listen to your messages by using the
earphone jack, especially useful for noisy
places.
Erasing Messages
Erasing messages is only possible in the STOP
position. You can either erase each message
one at a time or all the messages.
1. Make sure the HOLD switch is in the off
position.
2. Press REC/STOP, PLAY/STOP or REC MODE/
PAUSE to turn on the recorder.
3. Search for the message you want to erase by
using SEARCH backward or forward.
4. Press and hold ERASE until ERASE flashes in
the display and the message you want plays,
then release the button.
5. Press ERASE again to erase the message.The
message is erased and all the messages are
renumbered when the erasure is complete.
For example,if you erase message 2, the unit
shows the next message as message 2.
Note: To erase all of the messages, press
REC and ERASE at the same time for
approximately three seconds.

Information
• Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer
play. Carbon-zinc or nickel cadmium
rechargeable batteries can substantially reduce
play time.
• If you’re not going to use your unit for a
month or more, be sure to remove batteries
because they can leak and damage the unit.
• Dispose of batteries in the proper manner,
according to federal,state, and local
regulations.
• Any battery may leak electrolyte if mixed with
a different battery type, if inserted incorrectly,
if all batteries are not replaced at the same
time, if disposed of in fire, or if an attempt is
made to charge a battery not intended to be
recharged.
• Discard leaky batteries immediately. Leaking
batteries can cause skin burns or other
personal injury.

The display tells you the function and status of
the unit.
Recording Messages
With your new voice recorder, you can record
and store up to 199 messages.
1. Make sure the HOLD switch is in the off
position.
2. Press REC/STOP, PLAY/STOP or REC MODE/
PAUSE to turn on the recorder.
3. Press RECORD MODE to select the
recording speed.
4. Point the built-in microphone toward the
sound source and press the REC button.
5. Press REC again to stop recording.
Note: The message number, recorder
status, and time appear in the display.

LP (Long Play Mode) 238 minutes
Notes: A better sound can be obtained in
the SP mode, but only half as many
messages can be recorded. The speed can
only be selected when the recorder is in
the STOP position.

Para Encender/ Apagar
(ON/OFF) la Grabadora de
Voz
Al oprimir cualquiera de los botones “PLAY/
STOP”, “REC MODE/PAUSE”o “REC/STOP”la
grabadora se activa.La grabadora de voz se
apaga automaticamente después de que han
pasado aproximadamente dos minutos sin que
ningún botón se haya oprimido.
Para Grabar Mensajes
Con su nueva grabadora de voz, usted puede
grabar y almacenar hasta 199 mensajes.
1. Asegúrese de que el selector“HOLD”estéen

Para Instalar las Baterías
1. Oprima y deslice hacia afuera la cubierta del
compartimento de las baterías.
2. Introduzca 2 baterías alcalinas tamaño “AAA”
dentro del compartimento de las
baterías.Asegúrese de que el polo (+) de
cada batería sea instalado como se
muestra en el diagrama dentro del
compartimento de las baterías. El instalar las
baterías incorrectamente puede resultar en
daño al aparato.
3. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta del
compartimento en su lugar hasta que
escuche usted el chasquido indicando que
ha cerrado.

Para Borrar Mensajes
Borrar mensajes es posible unicamente en la
posición “STOP.”Usted puede borrar un
mensaje a la vez o todos los mensajes a la vez.
1. Asegúrese de que el selector de “HOLD”está
en la posición de apagado (off).
2. Oprima el botón “REC/STOP”,“PLAY/STOP”

Aparato Externo
Usted puede grabar información de una fuente
de audio, siguiendo los pasos a continuación.

Para Grabar de una Fuente
Externa de Audio
1. Asegúrese de que la grabadora de voz y la
fuente externa están en la posición de

marcado “MIC OUT”, el enchufe de
