5) Inspectthefluesystemannuallyforblockageandanysigns
ofdeterioration.
6) Anysafetyglassremovedforservicingmustbereplaced
priortooperatingtheappliance.
7) Topreventinjury,donotallowanyonewhoisunfamiliarwith
theoperationtousethefireplace.
Before leaving this unit with the customer, the installer must
ensurethattheapplianceisfiringcorrectlyandoperationfully
explained to customer.

PEDESTAL ASSEMBLY
1) Foreasierassembly,tipthestoveonitsback(preferably
ontoasoftsurfacetopreventscratching).
2) Unscrewthe4boltsintheundersideofthestove.Alignthe
holesinthecornersofthepedestaltopwiththecorrespond-
ingholesinthebaseofthestove. Usewasherswhichare
suppliedwiththepedestalasshownindiagram.Reinstall
bolts.
3) PushtheRegencylogointothetwoholesinthefrontbottom
leftcornerofthepedestalcoverplate.
Note: Any paint touch up should be done prior to placing
logo on pedestal.
4) Seewiringinstructionsbelow.

INSTALLATION
This includes:
1) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correct firing rate
(rate noted on label) after burning appliance for 15 min-
utes.
2) Ifrequired,adjustingtheprimaryairtoensurethattheflame
doesnotcarbon.Firstallowtheunittoburnfor15-20min.
tostabilize.
3) Checkforproperdraft.
CAUTION:Anyalterationtotheproductthatcausessootingor
carboningthatresultsindamageisnottheresponsibilityofthe
manufacturer.
CLEARANCESTOCOMBUSTIBLES
TheclearanceslistedbelowareMINIMUMdistances. Measure
theclearancetoboththeapplianceandthechimneyconnector.
The farthest distance is correct if the two clearances do not
coincide.Forexample,iftheapplianceissetasindicatedinone
ofthediagramsbutthebackwallistooclose,movethestoveuntil
thecorrectclearancetotheconnectorisobtained.
This appliance may be installed only with the clearances as
showninthesituationspictured. Donotcombineclearances
from one type of installation with another in order to achieve
closerclearances.Usetheminimumclearancesshowninthe
diagrams.

INSTALLATION
Pedestal & Leg/Bottom Shield
Wiring Instructions
1) Disconnectthefanharnessplug.
2) Disconnectthe240Vpowercordfromtheterminalblock
3) Disconnect the three wires from the 3-way fan switch.
4) Install the 3-way fan switch into the Bottom Shield or
Pedestal. Note: remove dummy switch first.
5) Installthepowercordthroughthesmallholeintherearofthe
BottomShieldorPedestal
6) Re-connectthepowercordtotheterminalblock.
7) Ground the power cord and mount the terminal block if
required.
8) Re-connectthe3wiresbacktothe3-wayfanswitch(the
white wire is the middle connection).
9) Connectthe yellowwirefromthegas valvetotheBurner
2-wayswitchsuppliedwiththeBottomShieldorPedestal.
10) Connect the orange wire from the spill switch to the
Burner ON/OFF switch.
11) Re-connectthefanharnessplug.
12) Securethepowercordwiththesuppliedgrommetatthe
backoftheBottomShieldorPedestal.

LEG AND BOTTOM SHIELD
ASSEMBLY
Theseinstructionsapplytothesteelleg,paintedcastlegandthe
goldplatedcastleg.Itwillbeeasiertoattachthelegstothestove
ifitistippedonitsback(preferablyonasoftsurfacetoprevent
scratching).
1) Remove the 4 bolts in the underside of the base and
discard.
2) Putthebottomshieldupagainstthebottomofthestoveand
looselyinstallthefoursuppliedboltsandwashersintothe
threadedholesinthefourcornersofthebottomtheunit.
Oncetheboltsarestarted,slipthelegunderthewasherand
tightenthebolts.
3) Hook up wires to Burner ON/OFF switch and valve as-
semblyasperwiringinstructionsabove.SeeDiagram1.
4) Levelthestovebyadjustingthelevellingboltsinthebottom
ofeachleg.

DRAFTHOOD
The heater has a draft hood built into its back. It must not be
alteredorobstructed,andtheunitmustbeinstalledsothatthe
drafthoodisinthesameatmosphericpressurezoneasthe
combustionairinlettotheburner.
FLUING
Thisheaterisaventedapplianceandmustbeconnectedtoa
chimney/flueinaccordancewithinstallationcodes.
Foryoursafetythisheaterisequipped withafluesafetyswitch.
Thisthermallyactuatedswitchislocatedwithinthedrafthood
INSTALLATION
andwilldetecteitherablockedchimneyorbackdraftcondition
wherethechimneyflowhasreversedandwillreactbyshutting
offthegassupply.
Note: The spill switch is manually resettable and comes
fromthe factoryin theopen position.Before trying
tostartuptheunit,makesuretheredbuttononthe
spill switch is pushed in.
FLUINGREQUIREMENTS
100mmdiameterflueisrequiredinaccordancewithAG601,
NZS5261oranyrelevant localbuildingcodes. Foraltitudes
above610m.werecommendthataminimumflueheightof3.6m
isused.
WIRING

WARNING: Electrical Grounding
Instructions
Thisapplianceisequippedwithathree
pronged(grounding) plugforyour pro-
tection against shock hazard and
shouldbe plugged directlyinto a prop-
erlygroundedthree-prongreceptacle.
Do not cut or remove the grounding
prong from this plug.
Noelectricalpowersupplyisrequiredfor
the gas control to operate. However, a
240VA.C.powersupplyisneededforthe
fan/blower operation.
Caution: Ensure that the wires do not
touch any hot surfaces and are away

GASPIPEPRESSURETESTING
The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping
systembyclosingitsindividualmanualshut-offvalveduringany
pressuretestingofthegassupplypipingsystemattestpres-
suresequaltoorlessthan3.45kPa. Disconnectpipingfrom
valveatpressuresover 3.45kPa.
Themanifoldpressureiscontrolledbyaregulatorbuiltintothe
gascontrol,andshouldbecheckedatthepressuretestpoint.
Note: To properly check gas pressure, both inlet and
manifold pressures should be checked using the
valvepressureportsonthevalve.
1) Makesurethevalveisinthe"OFF"position.
2) Loosen the "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure tap(s), turning
counterclockwisewitha1/8"wideflatscrewdriver.
3) Attach manometer to "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure tap(s)
usinga5/16"IDhose.
GAS CONNECTION
The gas connection is a 1/2 inch BSP Male thread. The gas
line can be rigid copper pipe. Pipe size to ensure correct
operating pressure. For minimum and maximum supply
pressure see the System Data table below.
Note: During any pressure testing of the gas supply
pipingsystemthat exceedstestpressuresof3.45
kPa,thisapplianceanditsindividualshut-offvalve
must be disconnected from the piping system. If
test pressures equal to or less than 3.45 kPa are
used then this appliance can be isolated from the
piping system by closing its individual manual
shut-off valve, if fitted, during the testing.
INSTALLATION IS TO BE CARRIED OUT
ONLY BY AN AUTHORISED PERSON
4) Lightthepilotandturnthevalveto"ON"position.
5) The pressure check should be carried out with the unit
burningandthesettingshouldbewithinthelimitsspecified
onthesafetylabel.
6) Whenfinishedreadingmanometer,turnoffthegasvalve,
disconnectthehoseandtightenthescrew(clockwise)with
a1/8"flatscrewdriver.Screwshouldbesnug,butdonotover
tighten.

LOGANDEMBERINSTALLATION
WARNING: Dangerous operating conditions may occur if
these logs are not positioned in their approved locations.
Read the instructions below carefully and refer to the
diagrams. If logs are broken do not use the unit until they
are replaced. Broken logs can interfere with the pilot and
burner operation.
Thegaslogkitcontainsthefollowing:
a) FrontLog
b) RearLog
c) SmallCrossLogs(2)
d) Bagofembers
e) Bagofrockwool
1) Removethelogsfromtheboxandcarefullyunwrapthem.
Thelogsarefragile,handlewithcare. Donotforceinto
position.
2) Placethereardeflectorontherearlogsupportpinsinthe
backoftheunit.
3) Placethe rearlog intotherearofthefirebox,aligningthe
holesontheundersideofthelogwiththerearlogsupport
pins and carefully pushthelogdownontothepins.See
diagrams1and2.
4) Ensurethefrontdeflectorisoverfrontlogpins. Seediagram
1.
5) Placethefrontloginthefrontoftheunit,aligningtheholes
ontheundersideofthelogwiththelogsupportpinsinthe
frontoftheunit. Carefullypushthelogdownontothepins.

6) Placethecrosslogsontopofthelargerlogsaligningthe
holesontheundersideofthecrosslogwiththelogpinsin
the larger logs. See diagrams 1 & 2. Carefully push the
crosslogsontothepins.

INSTALLATION
TEST FOR FLUE SPILLAGE
Thisheatermustbeproperlyconnectedtoafluesystem.
WARNING:Operationofthisheaterwhennotconnectedto
aproperlyinstalledandmaintainedfluesystemortamper-
ingwiththefluesafetyshutoffsystemcanresultincarbon
monoxide (CO) poisoning and possible death.
A“spillage”testmustbemadebeforetheinstalledunitisleftwith
thecustomer. Followtheprocedurebelow:
1) Startallexhaustfansinthehomeandthenclosealldoors
andwindowsintheroom.
2) Lighttheunitandsetcontrolstomaximum.
3) After five minutes, test that there is a “pull” on the flue by
placingasmokematch,cigaretteorsimilardevicewhich
givesoffsmoke,ontheedgeofthedrafthood.SeeDiagram
below.
Thesmokeshouldbedrawnintothedrafthood.Ifthesmokeis
stillnotdrawnintothedrafthood,turntheunitoffandcheckfor
the causeofthelackofdraftandrectifybeforeproceeding.
Note:If theflue isblocked orhas astrong reverseflow, the
thermallyactuatedsafetyswitchmountedinthedrafthood
will automatically shut off the gas supply in less than 10
minutes. If the heater turns off because of this during the
spillage test, check for the cause of the lack of draft and
rectify before proceeding.
To reset the thermally actuated safety switch, let the unit
cool for 10 minutes, then press the red reset button on the
back of the switch. See Diagram.

Note: The door must be kept closed at all times, except
during maintenance. The unit must never be oper-
ated without the glass in the door, or with the door
open.
DOORHANDLE
Attach spring handle by rotating counter clockwise onto rod.
Ensurethatthespringfitsintotheentirelengthoftherod.
SAFETY LATCH
Secure door in the closed position using the door securing
bracket and the screw provided.
Note:Doorsecuringbracketisthere
for safety.

covertheburnerports. (Burnerportsarethelittleholeson
thetopoftheburnertube.) Pulloffembersizepiecesfrom
therockwool. Gentlyplacethepiecesontopoftheembers.

1) Run wire through the opening in the rear of the unit. Be
carefulnottodamagewire.
Note: We recommend a maximum of 4.5m of wire but if
youwishtogowithalongerrunusetheThermostat
WireTable.
2) Connectwiretowallswitchandinstallintoreceptaclebox.
Caution:
Donotwiremillivoltwallswitchforgasapplianceto
a240Vpowersupply.
OPTIONALREMOTECONTROL
INSTALLATION
UsetheOptionalRegencyRemoteControlKitapprovedforthis
unit.Useofothersystemsmayvoidyourwarranty.
Theremotecontrolkitcomeswithahandheldtransmitter,a
receiverandawallmountingplate.
1) Choose a convenient location on the wall to install the
receiverandthereceptaclebox(protectionfromextreme
heatisveryimportant).Runwiresfromthefireplacetothat
location.UseThermostatWireTable.
2) Connectthetwowirestothegasvalve.Seediagrambelow.
3) Installa9Valkalinebatteryinbothreceiverandthetransmit-
ter. Install the receiver and cover in the wall. The remote
controlisnowreadyforoperation.
OPTIONALWALL THERMOSTAT
INSTALLATION
Awallthermostatmaybeinstalledifdesired.
Note: Preferableifthethermostatisinstalledonaninteri-
or wall.

SHUTDOWNPROCEDURE
1) UsetheON/OFFswitch,wallswitch,thermostatorremote
controltoturnofftheburner.
2) PushinthePILOTknobslightlyandturnclockwisetooff.Do
notforce.
3) Turnoffallelectricpowertotheapplianceifserviceistobe
performed.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
LIGHTINGPROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Gas cock knob cannot be turned from
"PILOT" to "OFF" unless it is partially depressed.
1) TurnburnerOFFusing"ON/OFF"switch.
2) Turngascontrolknobsoindicatorpointsto"OFF"position
andallow5minutesforanygasinthecombustionchamber
toescape.
3) Turngascontrolknobcounterclockwisesoindicatorpoints
tothe"PILOT"position.Depressthegascontrolknobfully.
Depresstheigniterbuttonseveraltimesuntilthepilotlights.
After approximately one minute, release the gas control
knob.Thepilotflameshouldcontinuetoburn.Ifthepilotdoes
notremainlit,repeatoperationallowingalongerperiod
beforereleasinggascontrolknob.
4) Whenthepilotstayslit,turnthegasknobfurthercounter-
clockwisetothe"ON"position.
5) UsetheON/OFFswitch,wallswitch,thermostatorremote
controltoturnontheunit.

1) The FIRST FIRE in your stove is part of the paint curing
process. To ensure that the paint is properly cured, it is
recommendedthatyouburnyourfireplaceforatleastfour
(4)hoursthefirsttimeyouuseitwiththefanon.Whenfirst
operated,theunitwillreleaseanodourcausedbythecuring
ofthepaintandtheburningoffofanyoilsremainingfrom
manufacturing.Smokedetectorsinthehousemaygooffat
thistime.Openafewwindowstoventilatetheroomfora
coupleofhours.Theglasspanelmayrequirecleaning.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE GLASS WHILE IT

MAINTENANCE
NORMALOPERATINGSOUNDSOF
GASAPPLIANCES
It is possible that you will hear some sounds from your gas
appliance.Thisisperfectlynormalduetothefactthatthereare
variousgaugesandtypesofsteelusedwithinyourappliance.
Listed below are some examples. All arenormaloperating
soundsandshouldnotbeconsideredasdefectsinyourappli-
ance.
Blower:
Regencygasappliancesusehightechblowerstopushheated
airfartherintotheroom.Itisnotunusualforthefantomakea
"whirring"soundwhenON.Thissoundwillincreaseordecrease
involumedependingonthesettingofyourfanswitch.
Burner Tray:
Theburnertrayispositioneddirectlyundertheburnertube(s)
andlogsandismadeofadifferentgaugematerialfromtherest
ofthe fireboxandbody. Therefore,thevarying thicknessesof
steelwillexpandandcontractatslightlydifferentrateswhichcan
cause"ticking"and"cracking"sounds.Youshouldalsobeaware
that as there are temperature changes within the unit these
soundswilllikelyre-occur.Again,thisisnormalforsteelfirebox-
es.
Blower Thermodisc:
When this thermally activated switch turns ON it will create a
small"clicking"sound.Thisistheswitchcontactsclosingandis
normal.
Pilot Flame:
Whilethepilot flame is onitcanmake a very slight"whisper"
sound.
Gas Control Valve:
AsthegascontrolvalveturnsONandOFF,adullclickingsound
maybeaudible,thisisnormaloperationofagasregulatoror
valve.
Unit Body/Firebox:
Differenttypesandthicknessesofsteelwillexpandandcontract
at different rates resulting in some "cracking" and "ticking"
soundswillbeheardthroughoutthecyclingprocess.
MAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONS
1) Alwaysturnoffthegasvalvebeforecleaning.Forrelighting,
refertolightinginstructions.Keeptheburnerandcontrol
compartmentclean bybrushingandvacuumingatleast
onceayear.
Whencleaningthelogs,useasoftcleanbrushasthelogs
arefragileandeasilydamaged.
2) Cleanapplianceanddoorwithadampcloth(neverwhen
unit is hot). Never use an abrasive cleaner. The glass
shouldbecleanedwithagasfireplaceglasscleaner(when
itstartstocloudup).
3) Theheaterisfinishedinaheatresistantpaintandshould
onlyberefinishedwithheatresistantpaint.Regencyuses
StoveBritePaint-MetallicBlack#6309.
4) Makea periodiccheckofburnerforproperpositionand
condition.Visuallychecktheflameoftheburnerperiodically,
makingsuretheflamesaresteady;notliftingorfloating.If
thereisaproblem,callanauthorisedserviceperson.
5) Theapplianceandfluingsystemmustbeinspectedbefore
use,andatleastannually,byanauthorisedfieldservice
person,toensurethattheflowofcombustionandventilation
airisnotobstructed.
Duringtheannualservicecall,theburnersshouldbere-
moved from the burner tray and cleaned. Replace the
embersandrockwool.
6) Eachtimetheapplianceislit,itmaycausecondensation
andfogtheglass. Thiscondensationisnormalandwill
disappearinafewminutesastheglassheatsup.
7) Caution:Labelallwirespriortodisconnectionwhenservic-
ingcontrols.Wiringerrorscancauseimproperanddanger-
ousoperation. Verifyproperoperationafterservicing.

GENERAL FLUE MAINTENANCE
Conduct an inspection of the flue system at least annually.
Recommendedareastoinspectare:
1) CheckareasoftheFluingSystemwhichareexposedtothe
elementsforcorrosion.Thesewillappearasrustspotsor
streaks,andinextremecases,holes.Thesecomponents
shouldbereplacedimmediately.
2) Remove the Cap, and shine a flashlight down the Flue.
Removeanybirdsnests,orotherforeignmaterial.
3) Checkforevidenceof excessive condensation, suchas
waterdropletsformingintheliner,andsubsequentlydrip-
pingoutthejoints,Continuouscondensationcancause
corrosionof caps,pipe,andfittings.It maybecausedby
havingexcessivelateralruns,toomanyelbows,orexterior
portionsofthesystembeingexposedtocoldweather.
4) Inspectjoints,toverifythatnopipesectionsorfittingshave
beendisturbed,andconsequentlyloosened.Alsocheck
mechanicalsupportssuchasWallStrapsforrigidity.
LOGREPLACEMENT
Theunitshouldneverbeusedwithbrokenlogs.Turnoffthegas
valveandallowtheunittocoolbeforeopeningdoortocarefully
removethelogs.Thepilotlightgeneratesenoughheattoburn
someone.Ifforanyreasonalogshouldneedreplacement,use
onlyRegencyreplacementlogs.Thepositionoftheselogsmust
beasshowninthediagramunderLogInstallation.
NOTE: Improper positioning of logs may create
carbonbuild-upandwillaltertheunit’sperformance
which is not covered under warranty.
GOLD-PLATEDDOORS
The24caratgoldplatedfinishonthedoorrequireslittlemainte-
nance,andneedonlybecleanedwithadampcloth. DONOT
useabrasivematerialsorchemicalcleaners,astheymayharm
the finish and void the warranty. Clean any fingerprints off
before turning the unit on.
GLASSREPLACEMENT
Your F33-1 stove is supplied with high temperature, 5 mm
Neoceramsilicacoatedceramicglassthatwillwithstandthe
highest heat that your unit will produce. In the event that you
breakyourglassbyimpact,purchaseyourreplacementglass
fromanauthorizedRegencydealeronly,andfollowourstep-
by-step instructions for replacement.
1) Allowthestovetocoolbeforeremovingorreplacingglass.
2) To remove the door from the stove remove the securing
screwlocatedbetweentheashlipandthedoor,thenunfas-
tenthelatch.
3) Removegoldhingecapsfromdoor.
4) Liftdooroffhingeandlaydooronasoft,flatsurface.
5) Removethescrewsintheglassretainerclipsandremove
theglassretainer rod.Removeanyremaining piecesof
glassandensurethatthedoorisfreeofdebris.Usecaution
whenremovingbrokenglasstoavoidinjury.
6) Installthedoorscreen(Australiaonly).
7) Installthereplacementglass.Whenplacingthereplace-
mentglassinthedoor,makesurethattheglassgasketing
willproperlysealyourunit.
8) Putglassinplaceandthenpositionglassretainerrod.
Note: Donotuse substitute materials.Ifyour glass does
break, do not continue to use your unit until it has
beenreplaced.
9)Positiontheglassretainerclipsanddoorsecuringbracket.
Securetheglassretainingscrewsbutdonotovertightenas
thismaycausetheglasstobreakaftertheunitheatsup.
10) Tightenallscrewsevenly.Donotovertightenasthismay
causebreakage.
11) Slipdooroverhingepinsandputhingecapsbackontodoor.
Latch door securely using the handle and secure the
securitybracketwiththescrew.

MAINTENANCE
Incorrect flame pattern will have small, probably yellow
flames,notcomingintopropercontactwiththerearburner
or thermopile or thermocouple.
