The REGENCY Rear Flued Room Sealed
Freestanding Gas Stove must be installed in ac-
cordance AG601 and NZS 5261 and with these
instructions. Carefully read all the instructions in
this manual rst. Consult the building authority
having jurisdiction to determine the need for a
permit prior to starting the installation.
Note: Failure to follow the instructions
could cause a malfunction of the
heater which could result in death,
serious bodily injury, and/or property

Fuels: FG37-NG is approved for use with
NG.
FG37-LPG is approved for use with
liqueed petroleum gases (LPG).
Electrical: 240 V A.C. system.
Circulation Fan: Two Speed

Axial (6-5/8" (168mm) outer / 4"

BEFORE YOU START
Safe installation and operation of this appliance
requires common sense, however, please be
aware of the following:
1) Provide adequate clearances for servicing,
proper operation and around the air open-
ings into the combustion chamber.
2) The appliance must be installed on a at,
solid, continuous surface (e.g. wood, metal,
concrete). This may be the oor, or it can be
raised up on a platform to enhance its visual
impact. The appliance may be installed on
carpeting, tile, wood ooring or other com-
bustible material, because the appliance's
metal pedestal base extends the full width
and depth of the appliance. The REGENCY
Rear Flued Room Sealed Freestanding Gas
Stove can be installed in a wide variety of
ways and will t nearly any room layout.
It may be installed in a recessed position,
framed out into the room, or across a corner.
INSTALLATION
3) The REGENCY Rear Flued Room Sealed
Freestanding Gas Stove is approved for
manufactured home installations, see pages
6 to 9 for the required ue arrangements. If
installed into a manufactured home the unit
must be bolted down to the oor.
4) We recommend that you plan your instal-
lation on paper using exact measurements
for clearances and oor protection before
actually installing this appliance. Have an
authorized building inspector review your
plans before installation.
GENERAL SAFETY IN-
FORMATION
1) The appliance shall be installed in accord-
ance with the manufacturer's installation
instructions, local gas tting regulations,
municipal building codes, water supply
regulations, electrical wiring regulations,
with AS5601-2004 (AGA gas installation
code) NZS 5261 (New Zealand)
2) Installation and repair should be done
ONLY by an authorised person.
3) DO NOT CONNECT TO MASONARY
FLUE.
4) This appliance must be connected to
the specied ue and termination cap
to the outside of the building envelope.
Never ue to another room or inside a
building. Make sure that the ue is tted
as per Flueing instructions.
5) Inspect the ueing system annually for
blockage and any signs of deterioration.
6) Flueing terminals shall not be recessed into
a wall or siding.
7) Any safety glass removed for servicing must
be replaced prior to operating the appliance.
8) To prevent injury, do not allow anyone who
is unfamiliar with the operation to use the
replace.
9) Wear gloves and safety glasses for protec-
tion while doing required maintenance.
10) Be aware of electrical wiring locations in
walls and ceilings when cutting holes for
termination.
11) Under no circumstances should this ap-
pliance be modied. Parts that have to be
removed for servicing should be replaced
prior to operating this appliance.
12) Installation and any repairs to this appliance
should be done by an authorised service
person.An authorised service person should
be called to inspect this appliance annually.
Make it a practice to have all of your gas
appliances checked annually.
13) Do not slam shut or strike the glass door.

14) Under no circumstances should any solid
fuels (wood, paper, cardboard, coal, etc.)
be used in this appliance.
15) The appliance area must be kept clear and
free of combustible materials, (gases and
other ammable vapours and liquids).
INSTALLATION
CHECKLIST
1) Check Clearances to Combustibles (page 6),
location of unit (page 6) and uing require-
ments (pages 6-9).
2) Install uing: Check all uing requirements,
pages 8-12.
3) Make gas connections, page 12. Test the
pilot. Must be as per diagram, pages 15 &
22.
4) If necessary, convert from NG to LPG (page
13).
5) Install log set, page 15.
6) Install Front Door Front, page 16.
7) Test Gas Pressure, page 17.
8) Install Louvres, page 17.
9) Install optional Remote Control, page 18.
10) Final check, page 18.
Before leaving this unit with the customer, the
installer must ensure that the appliance is r-
ing correctly and operation fully explained
to customer.
This includes:
1) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correct
ring rate (rate noted on label) after burning
appliance for 15 minutes.
2) If required, adjusting the primary air to ensure
that the ame does not carbon. First allow
the unit to burn for 15-20 min. to stabilize.
CAUTION: Any alteration to the product that
causes sooting or carboning that results
in damage is not the responsibility of the
manufacturer.
LOCATING YOUR
REGENCY GAS STOVE
When selecting a location for your stove, ensure
that the clearances listed above are met as well
as ensuring that there is adequate accessibility
for servicing and proper operation.
For Flu Termination requirements, see page 7.
This appliance is Listed for bedroom installations
when used with a Listed Millivolt Thermostat.
Some areas may have further requirements,
check local codes before installation.
This appliance is Listed for Alcove installations,
maintain minimum Alcove clearances as follows,
minimum ceiling height of 1.7m, minimum width
of 1.0m and a maximum depth of 0.9m.

The clearances listed are MINIMUM distances.
Measure the clearance to both the appliance and
the chimney connector. The farthest distance is
correct if the two clearances do not coincide.
For example, if the appliance is set as indicated
in one of the diagrams but the connector is too
close, move the stove until the correct clearance
to the connector is obtained.
This appliance may be installed only with the
clearances as shown in the situations pictured.
Do not combine clearances from one type of
installation with another in order to achieve
closer clearances.
This unit can be installed on a solid combustible
surface like a wood oor. This unit can also be
installed directly on carpeting or vinyl when the
bottom pedestal cover plate (provided with unit)
is installed.

COMBUSTION AND

PLANNING YOUR FLUING INSTALLATION

FLUING
(946-110) and the Vertical Termination with the
Co-linear Flex System in combination with the
REGENCY Room Sealed-Rear Freestanding
Gas Stoves (FG37-NG and FG37-LPG) have
been approved and listed as Room Sealed
heater systems by Australian Gas Association.
The Horiz. Termination Kit (946-110) includes
everything required for a straight through the
wall installation, or add a 45oelbow for a corner
installation.
IMPORTANT
Read all instructions carefully before starting the
installation. Failure to follow these instructions
may create a re or other safety hazard, and will
void the warranty. Be sure to check the uing
and clearance to combustible requirements on
pages 6 to 9. Consult your local building codes
before beginning installation.
The location of the termination cap must conform
to the requirements in the Exterior Flue Terminal
Locations diagram on page 7.
FLUING
INSTALLATION
PRECAUTIONS
The Regency Room Sealed System and the
Vertical Termination with the Co-linear Flex
System are engineered products that have
been designed and tested for use with the
FG37-NG, and FG37-LPG. The Regency war-
ranty will be voided and serious re, health or
other safety hazards may result from any of the
following actions:
1) Installation of any damaged Room Sealed
component
2) Unauthorized modication of the Room
Sealed System
3) Installation of any component part not
manufactured or approved by Regency
Industries Ltd.
4) Installation other than as instructed by
Regency Industries Ltd.
Warning: Always maintain required
clearances (air spaces) to nearby
combustibles to prevent a fire
hazard. Do not ll air spaces with
insulation.
The minimum clearance requirements between
the outer wall of the ue pipe and nearby com-
bustible surfaces is 30mm. Be sure to check
the ue termination clearance requirements
from decks, windows, so󰀩ts, gas regulators,
air supply inlets and public walkways as speci-
ed on page 7 and in your local building codes.
The gas appliance and ue system
must be ued directly to the out-
side of the building, and never be
attached to a chimney serving a
separate solid fuel or gas-burning
appliance.
Each Room Sealed gas appliance must use
its own separate ue system. Common ue
systems are prohibited.
SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS FOR
THE INSTALLER
1) Wear gloves and safety glasses for protec-
tion.
2) Exercise extreme caution when using lad-
ders or on roof tops.
3) Be aware of electrical wiring locations in
walls and ceilings.
See page 7 for Exterior Flue Termination
requirements.
When planning your installation, it will be nec-
essary to select the proper length of ue pipe
for your particular requirements. Determine the
minimum clearance to combustibles from the
rear of the unit to the wall. It is also important to
note the wall thickness. Before cutting the ue
hole through the wall ensure that ALL ue and
termination clearances (see page 7) will be met.
*If this is an outside corner, the minimum distance
between the ue and the outside corner is 12" (30cm). See "F" on the diagram on page 7.
NOTE: Ensure compliance with the outside ue terminal location before cutting hole as
both dimensions must be met.
For corner installation, Restrictor must
be set at 1-1/4" (32mm) open.
For straight rear installation, Restrictor
must be set at 1-1/8" (29mm) open.

is required.

The shaded area in the diagram shows the allowable vertical
terminations installed in a masonry chimney. All vertical ue instal-
lations require the Flue Restrictor to be set to 32mm open. All Vertical
Flue Terminals must be Simpson Dura Vent (Abey Australia) DV 980
MAS (Australian Modied.)
using Dura-Vent Fluing System
The shaded areas in the two diagrams below show all allowable com-
binations of straight vertical and o󰀨set to vertical runs with vertical
terminations. Maximum one 90oelbow. All vertical and o󰀨set to vertical
ue installations require Flue Restrictor to be set to 32mm open. If the ue
is ENCLOSED in a chase (min. size 229mm x 229mm) maintain a 32mm
clearance to combustibles. All Vertical Flue Terminals must be Simpson
Dura Vent (Abey Australia) DV 980 MAS (Australian Modied.)

You will require the following components with your new Regency Rear Flued Room Sealed Freestanding Gas Stove. Please review your product
to make sure you have everything you need. In the event that you are missing any part, contact your dealer.
Note: These are the minimum pieces required.
Other parts may be required for your particular installation.

screws. Locate the screws at the bottom
of the pipe so that the screw heads are
hidden on the nal installation. Apply
sealant "Mill-Pac" to inner pipe and high
temp silicone sealant or "Mill-Pac" to
outer pipe on every joint.
Hint: Apply sealant to female end.
c) Before connecting the ue pipe to the
ue termination, slide the black decora-
tive wall thimble cover over the ue pipe,
then slide the Wall Penetration Heat
Shield (Part # 946-202) over the ue
pipe. Dia. 3.
d) Slide the appliance and ue assembly
towards the wall carefully inserting the
ue pipe into the riser vent terminal as-
sembly. It is important that the ue pipe
extends into the Riser Vent Backing Plate
a su󰀩cient distance so as to result in a
minimum pipe overlap of
1-1/4 inches (32mm). Secure the con-
nection between the ue pipe and the
ue cap by attaching the two sheet
metal strips extending from the Riser
Vent Backing Plate into the outer wall of
the ue pipe. Use two aluminum screws
provided to connect the strips to the pipe
section. Bend any remaining portion of
the sheet metal strip back towards the
ue cap and cut o󰀨 any excess, it will be
concealed by the decorative wall thimble
cover. See diagram 5.
8) Slide the decorative wall thimble up to the
wall surface being careful not to scratch the
paint. See diagram 5.
9) Back outside: Apply sealant to the 4"
(102mm) inner ue and slide the Riser Vent
Front into the Backing Plate and fasten with
8 screws.
IMPORTANT:
When connecting the pipe to the Riser
Vent, apply Mill-Pac to the inner pipe on
the Riser Vent Terminal, around the bead.
Ensure that the ue pipe is pushed past
the bead for a secure t.
10) Seal around the outer edge of the Riser Vent
Backing Plate.

HORIZONTAL INSTALLA-
TIONS
1) Set the unit in its desired location. Check to
determine if wall studs are in the way when the
uing system is attached. If this is the case, you
may want to adjust the location of the unit.
2) Assemble the desired combination of pipe and
elbow to the appliance adapter with pipe seams
oriented down. O󰀨set the pipe seams as double
seams in one place will cause the outer pipe to
take an oval shape. Kit comes complete with
18" (457mm) of straight ue - 6-5/8" (168mm)
dia. black outer pipe and 4" (102mm) dia. inner
NOTE: For Snorkel terminations in ABOVE
grade installations, follow national or
local code requirements.

3) With the pipe attached to the stove, slide the
stove into its correct location, and mark the
wall for a 9-1/2" (241mm) (inside dimensions)
round hole. The center of the round hole should
line up with the centerline of the horizontal pipe,
as shown in diagram 1. Cut and frame the
9-1/2 (241mm) round hole in the exterior wall
where the ue will be terminated. If the
wall being penetrated is constructed of
non-combustible material, i.e. masonry
block or concrete, a 7" (178mm) diam-
eter hole is acceptable.
Note:
a) The horizontal run of ue should
have a 1/4 inch (6mm) rise for every
1 foot (305mm) of run towards the
termination. Never allow the ue to
run downward. This could cause
high temperatures and may present
the possibility of a re.
b) The location of the horizontal ue
termination on an exterior wall must
meet all local and national building
codes, and must not be blocked
or obstructed. For External Flue
Terminal Locations, see diagram
on page 7.
c) Snorkel Terminations:
For installations requiring a vertical
rise on the exterior of the building,
Astro Riser Vent Terminations as
shown in Dia. 2 is available. Follow
the same installation procedures
as used for standard Horizontal
Termination.
NEVER install the Astro Riser vent
upside down.
Below Grade Snorkel Installation
If the Snorkel Termination must be
installed below grade, i.e. basement
application, proper drainage must
be provided to prevent water from
entering the Snorkel Termination.
Refer to Dura-Vent Installation in-
structions for details.. Do not attempt
to enclose the Snorkel within the
wall, or any other type of enclosure.
4) Install wall penetration heat shield in
the center of the 9-1/2" (241mm) round
hole and attach with wood screws. The
four wood screws provided should be
replaced with appropriate fasteners for
stucco, brick, concrete, or other types
of sidings. Dia. 3.
5) If installing termination on a siding
covered wall, a vinyl siding stando󰀨 or fur-
ring strips must be used to ensure that the
termination is not recessed into the siding.

GAS CONNECTION
The gas connection is a 1/2" (13mm) NPT Male
Thread. Copper can be used or other connec-
tions approved by AG 604.
When using copper or ex connectors use only
approved ttings. Always provide a union so
that gas lines can be easily disconnected for
burner and/or valve servicing. Flare nuts for
copper lines are usually considered to meet
this requirement.
Important: Always check for gas leaks with
a soap and water solution or gas leak detec-
tor. Do not use open ame for leak testing.
Note: Prior to any pressure testing of
the gas supply piping system
that exceeds test pressures of
3.45 kPa, this appliance must
be disconnected from the piping
system. If test pressures equal
to or less than 3.45 kPa are used
then this appliance must be
isolated from the piping system

AERATION

This appliance is designed to be attached to two 3" (76mm) co-linear aluminium ex running

Masonry chimneys may take various contours which the exible liner will accommodate. However,
keep the exible liner as straight as possible, avoid unnecessary bending.

1) Shut o󰀨 the gas supply and unplug the power
cord.
2) Open the front door and carefully remove
the logs and lava rock.
3) Remove burner.
4) Remove burner orice with a 1/2" (13mm)
wrench and discard. Use a wrench to hold
on to the elbow behind the orice.
5) Reinstall new burner orice LPG stamped
#52 and tighten.
18) Stick the conversion label "This unit has
been converted to LPG" on the control box
cover.
19) Reverse steps 16, 15 & 12.

8) Remove the NG orice and replace it with

9) Install the pilot tube to the pilot assembly.

ing the 4 Philips screws.

serial number decal.
14) Replace the yellow "NG" label with the red
"LPG" label.
15) Carefully pull out the control box.
Note: The control box is held in place by
velcro.
16) Remove the control box cover by undoing
the 3 screws. Maneuver through antenna.

Installer Notice:
These instructions must be left
with the appliance.
Minimum pressure: Remove one of the
cables connected to the electric modulator.
Keeping the nut (B) blocked, screw in the
screw (C) to increase the pressure and screw
it out to decrease it. Use a screwdriver 6 x
1 blade.
NOTE: The outlet pressure must be set to
minimum 0.74 kPa.
After carrying out all adjustments, block the
setting screws with paint, taking care not to
obstruct the breather orice of the pressure.
Put back the modulator plastic cap.
WARNING: To ensure the correct operation
of the modulator it is necessary that the
plastic cap (A) is returned to its original
location.
23) At the end of all setting and adjustment
operations, check electrical insulation and
gas leaks.
24) Reverse step 20.
25) Check operation of fan and ame control.
26) Check for proper ame appearance and
glow on logs.

22) Adjusting the Outlet Pressure
All the adjustments must be carried out
in the following order:
Remove the modulator plastic cap (A) using
needle nose pliers.
Maximum pressure: Turn the unit ON to
its highest input rating. Screw in the nut (B)
to increase the outlet pressure and screw it
out to decrease it. Use a 10 mm wrench.
NOTE: The outlet pressure must be set to
maximum 2.65 kPa.
21) Turn on the gas supply and plug in the power
cord.

ADJUSTMENT
The burner aeration is factory set but may need
adjusting due to either the local gas supply, air
supply or altitude.
NG: 10mm open
LPG: 10mm open
The aeration adjustment gears are located on
the right side of the burner box and can be ac-
cessed from the side or from the front when the
louvres are removed.
To adjust the aeration: use the allen key to turn
the turning gear which will adjust the air shutter.
Open the air shutter for a blue ame or close it for
a yellower ame. This adjustment is performed
by an authorized installer. The factory setting
should be su󰀩cient for most installations.
Clockwise to open,
counter-clockwise to close.
Caution: Carbon will be produced if the air
shutter is closed too much.
Note: Any damage due to carboning result-
ing from improperly setting the aera-
tion controls is NOT covered under
warranty.

DOOR INSTALLATION
(Packaged Separately)
1) Open the two side panels.
2) Slide the door onto the two hinge pins
making sure the two pieces are ush
together. See diagram 1.
3) Close the door. The latch plate must be
centered around the alignment pin. See
diagram 2. If the latch plate interferes with
the corner of the stove you may want to
angle the plate slightly so the door closes
easier.
4) The latches should already be at the proper
setting. If they are too hard or too easy
to close, you may want to adjust them by
loosening the locking nut and turning the
latch catch. See diagram 3.

Attach the top & bottom louvres to the side stove
panel using 2 screws per side.
GAS PIPE PRESSURE
TESTING
The appliance must be isolated from the gas sup-
ply piping system by closing its individual manual
shut-o󰀨 valve during any pressure testing of the
gas supply piping system at test pressures equal
to or less than 1/2 psig. (3.45 kPa). Disconnect
piping from valve at pressures over 3.45 kPa.
The manifold pressure is controlled by a regulator
built into the gas control, and should be checked
at the pressure test point.
Note: To properly check gas pressure, both
inlet and manifold pressures should
be checked using the valve pressure
ports on the valve.
1) Make sure the valve is in the "OFF" position.
2) Loosen the "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure
tap(s), turning counterclockwise with a 1/8"
wide at screwdriver.
3) Attach manometer to "IN" and/or "OUT"
pressure tap(s) using a 5/16" (8mm) ID hose.
4) Light the pilot and turn the valve to "ON"
position. Read manometer.
5) The pressure check should be carried out
with the unit burning and the setting should
be within the limits specied on the safety
label.
6) When nished reading manometer, turn
o󰀨 the gas valve, disconnect the hose and
tighten the screw (clockwise) with a 1/8" at
screwdriver. Note: Screw should be snug,
but do not over tighten

FINAL CHECK
Before leaving this unit with the customer, the
installer must ensure that the appliance is ring
correctly. This includes:
1) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correct
ring rate (rate noted on label) at 15 minutes.
2) If required, adjusting the primary air to ensure
that the ame does not carbon. First allow
the unit to burn for 15 min. to stabilize.

sooting or carboning that results in damage
to the exterior facia is not the responsibility

Before operating this appliance, proceed through
the following check list.
1) Read and understand these Instructions
before operating this appliance.
2) Check to see that all wiring is correct and
enclosed to prevent possible shock.
3) Check to ensure there are no gas leaks.
4) Make sure the three pieces of door glass
are properly positioned. Never operate the
appliance with any of the glass removed or
with the door open.
5) Verify that all ueing and the cap is unob-
structed.
6) Verify log placement.
LIGHTING
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
2) Press and release the ON/OFF button once
to start the unit.
3) After approximately 3 seconds the spark
ignition system will spark for 40 seconds to
light the main burner.
4) If the main burner does not light, reset the
unit.
RESETTING
THE UNIT
1) Open the pedestal door on the unit.
2) Press the reset button for approximately 3
seconds and release. The reset button is
located on the unit's control panel.
3) Wait for approximately 3 seconds and the
pilot sparks can be heard and seen. It would
take 2 to 3 seconds for the ame to be lit.
SHUTDOWN
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Press the ON/OFF button once.
2) Turn o󰀨 all electric power to the appliance
if service is to be performed.
FIRST FIRE
The FIRST FIRE in your heater is part of the
paint curing process. To ensure that the paint
is properly cured, it is recommended that you
burn your replace for at least four (4) hours the
rst time you use it with the fan on.
When rst operated, the unit will release an
odour caused by the curing of the paint and the
burning o󰀨 of any oils remaining from manufac-
turing. Smoke detectors in the house may go o󰀨
at this time. Open a few windows to ventilate
the room for a couple of hours. The glass may
require cleaning.
NOTE: The main burner will always start on
"HIGH" and resume it's last setting after
20 seconds of operation.
NOTE: When the glass is cold and the appliance
is lit, it may cause condensation and fog
the glass. This condensation is normal
and will disappear in a few minutes as
the glass heats up.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE
GLASS WHILE IT IS STILL HOT!
DO NOT BURN THE APPLIANCE WITH-
OUT THE GLASS FRONT IN PLACE.
FAN OPERATION
Set the fan speed on the control panel located
in behind the pedestal door to adjust fan to the
desired speed.
ADJUSTING FLAME
HEIGHT
There are six ame settings that can be adjusted
by pressing and releasing the plus (+) and minus
(-) FLAME button.
The FLAME setting button is located on the
control panel in behind the pedestal door.
Pressing and releasing the plus (+) FAN button
will change the fan speed as follows:
OFF -> LOW -> MEDIUM -> HIGH -> OFF, etc.
Pressing and releasing the minus (-) FAN button
will be the reverse of the above.

NORMAL OPERATING
SOUNDS OF
GAS APPLIANCES
It is possible that you will hear some sounds
from your gas appliance. This is perfectly normal
due to the fact that there are various gauges
and types of steel used within your appliance.
Listed below are some examples. All are normal
operating sounds and should not be considered
as defects in your appliance.
Blower:
Regency gas appliances use high tech blowers
to push heated air farther into the room. It is not
unusual for the fan to make a "whirring" sound
when ON. This sound will increase or decrease
in volume depending on the speed setting of
your fan speed control.
Burner Tray:
The burner tray is positioned directly under the
burner tube(s) and logs and is made of a di󰀨er-
ent gauge material from the rest of the rebox
and body. Therefore, the varying thicknesses of
steel will expand and contract at slightly di󰀨erent
rates which can cause "ticking" and "cracking"
sounds. You should also be aware that as there
are temperature changes within the unit these
sounds will likely re-occur. Again, this is normal
for steel reboxes.
Gas Control Valve:
As the gas control valve turns ON and OFF, a
dull clicking sound may be audible, this is normal
operation of a gas regulator or valve.
Unit Body/Firebox:
Di󰀨erent types and thicknesses of steel will
expand and contract at di󰀨erent rates resulting
in some "cracking" and "ticking" sounds will be
heard throughout the cycling process.
SUMMARY OF
CONTROLS
On/O Button:
If the unit is switched o󰀨, pressing and releasing
this button once will switch the unit on. The unit
will resume its last settings.
If the unit is switched on, pressing and releasing
this button once will switch the unit o󰀨.
Flame:
Increase - If the unit is switched on, pressing
and releasing the ame plus (+) button once will
increase the ame height to the next available
high setting.
Decrease - If the unit is switched on, pressing
and releasing the ame minus (-) button once
will decrease the ame height to the next avail-
able low setting.
Fan:
Increase - If the unit is switched on, pressing
and releasing the fan plus (+) button once will
increase the fan speed to the next available
high setting.
Decrease - If the unit is switched on, pressing
and releasing the fan minus (-) button once will
decrease the fan speed to the next available
low setting.
PILOT ADJUSTMENT
Periodically check the pilot ames. The correct
ame pattern has 3 strong blue ames.
One owing around the thermocouple, the
second owing across the rear of the burner (it
does not have to be touching the burner) and the
third ame owing tangent to the spark ignitor.
NOTE: If you have an incorrect ame pat-
tern, contact your Regency dealer for further
instructions.
