Astral Mobility Bag
User Guide

Thank you for choosing the Astral Mobility Bag.
Read the entire user guide before using the Mobility Bag.
Intended Use
The Mobility Bag has been designed to allow mobile use of the
Astral ventilator.
WARNING
•Read the entire guide before using the Mobility Bag.
•To prevent overheating, remove the Astral power supply
unit from the Mobility Bag when running Astral from an
external power source.
•Ensure all alarm settings (including alarm volume) have
been reviewed and adjusted accordingly for use in a
mobile environment.
Note: ResMed recommends adjusting the alarm volume
to thehighest level before using the Astral device inside
theMobility Bag.

Set up
Connecting the power supply unit and battery
Refer to illustration B
1. Place bag on a flat surface and unzip the accessories
compartment.
2. Unclip the retention straps.
3. Place the Astral power supply unit into the centre pocket.
Position the cables towards the side so that they exit the
pocket as shown.
4. If connecting to an external battery:
• Connect the power supply DC cable to the external
battery.
• Place the external battery in the bottom pocket. Ensuring
the DC cable exits the pocket.
• Connect the external battery cable through the bottom
part of the device compartment.
5. Push the DC cable through the cable port into the bottom of
the device compartment.

6. Clip the retention straps and adjust the length if required.
7. Close the accessories compartment. Ensure all zippered
compartments are closed.
Connecting the device
WARNING
•Ensure the air inlets and vents of the Mobility Bag and the
device are kept clear. Blocking the air inlets and / or vents
could lead to overheating of the device.
•Do not place Mobility Bag upright on the ground as this
will block the air inlet of the Mobility Bag.
•When used with oxygen, keep sources of ignition away
from the Mobility Bag.
The Mobility Bag has been designed to allow transfer of the
device into the bag whilst in operation. When using oxygen, the
oxygen inlet must be disconnected and reconnected.

1. Unzip the device compartment and unfasten the device
retention strap.
2. Place the device into the Mobility Bag and secure into
position using the device retention strap. Ensure that the
device retention strap does not compress the tubing.
3. Connect the DC plug of the power supply unit or battery to
the rear of the Astral device.
4. If not already completed, attach the patient circuit and the
antibacterial filter (if applicable) to the air outlet of the device.
5. Close the device compartment. Ensure all zippered
compartments are closed.
Notes:
• Always close the zippers and the flaps to protect the device
from moisture.
• Ensure the protective cover is closed to avoid damaging the
Astral screen.

Connecting oxygen and other accessories
WARNING
•When using supplemental oxygen inside the Mobility Bag,
the maximum permitted flow rate is 6 L/min.
•Oxygen cannot be used with a double limb circuit.

Oxygen and other accessories can be connected to the Astral
device through the cable ports on the rear access panel of the
Mobility Bag.
• Connect oxygen to the low flow oxygen inlet at the rear of the
device.
For full instructions on using oxygen with the Astral device,
refer to the Astral Clinical Guide.
• When using a pulse oximeter with the device, ResMed
recommends placing the cables around the side of the device
through the circuit flaps on the front panel.

For use with a wheelchair
Refer to illustration E
1. Attach the four wheelchair straps to the attachment points on
the side of the Mobility Bag.
2. Attach each of the four straps around a secure part of the
wheelchair, tighten or loosen as required.
Note: Alternatively, secure bag using the backpack or shoulder
straps.
For use as a backpack
Attach the backpack straps using the VELCRO®strips and secure
to the attachment points at the top and bottom of the Mobility
Bag.
For use over the shoulder
Secure the shoulder strap to the top two attachment points of
the Mobility Bag.
For use with mains power
WARNING
•Ensure that the power cord does not pose a tripping or
choking hazard.
•When the Astral device is used in the Mobility Bag,
the internal battery may stop charging in high ambient
temperature conditions. If the internal battery is not
charging, remove the Astral device and the power supply
unit from the Mobility Bag to continue charging.
1. Connect the DC plug of the Astral external power supply unit
to the rear of the Astral device.
2. Before connecting the power cord to the ResMed power
supply unit, ensure the end of the connector of the power
cord is correctly aligned with the input socket on the power
supply unit.
3. Plug the other end of the power cord into the power socket.
Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe Astral Mobility Bag with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
Allow to air dry.

Verwendungszweck
Mit der Tragetasche können Sie das Astral-Atemtherapiegerät
überall hin mitnehmen.
WARNUNGEN

•Um ein Überhitzen zu vermeiden, nehmen Sie das Netzteil
des Astral-Gerätes bitte aus derTragetasche, wenn es über
eine externe Spannungsversorgung betrieben wird.
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Alarmeinstellungen
(einschließlich Lautstärke) überprüft und für die
Verwendung unterwegs angepasst wurden.
Hinweis: ResMed empfiehlt, vor Gebrauch des Astral-Gerätes
in der Tragetasche die Alarmlautstärke auf die höchste Stufe
einzustellen.

Inbetriebnahme
Anschließen des Netzteils und des Akkus
Siehe Abbildung B.
1. Stellen Sie die Tasche auf eine ebene Oberfläche und öffnen
Sie den Reißverschluss des Zubehörfaches.
2. Öffnen Sie die Rückhaltebänder.
3. Setzen Sie das Astral-Netzteil in das mittlere Fach. Leiten Sie
die Kabel wie in der Abbildung seitlich aus dem Fach.
4. Anschließen eines externen Akkus:
• Verbinden Sie das Gleichstromkabel des Netzteils mit
dem externen Akku.
• Setzen Sie den externen Akku in das untere Fach. Stellen
Sie dabei sicher, dass das Gleichstromkabel aus dem Fach
geleitet wird.
• Stecken Sie das Kabel des externen Akkus durch die
Unterseite des Gerätefaches und schließen Sie es an.

5. Schieben Sie das Gleichstromkabel durch den Kabeleingang
an der Unterseite des Gerätefaches.
6. Befestigen Sie die Rückhaltebänder und verstellen Sie sie
falls erforderlich.
7. Schließen Sie das Zubehörfach. Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle
Reißverschlussfächer geschlossen sind.
Anschließen des Gerätes
WARNUNGEN
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Lufteinlass- und
Luftauslassöffnungen derTragetasche und des Gerätes
nicht blockiert werden. Wenn die Lufteinlass- und/oder
Luftauslassöffnungen während des Betriebes blockiert
werden, kann dies zu einer Überhitzung des Gerätes
führen.
•Stellen Sie dieTragetasche nicht aufrecht auf den Boden.
Dadurch wird ihre Lufteinlassöffnung blockiert.
•Bei der zusätzlichen Sauerstoffgabe muss dieTragetasche
von Zündquellen fern gehalten werden.
Die Tragetasche ermöglicht einen Transfer des Gerätes
in die Tasche während des Betriebs. Bei der zusätzlichen
Sauerstoffgabe muss der Sauerstoffeinlass getrennt und wieder
angeschlossen werden.

1. Öffnen Sie den Reißverschluss des Gerätefaches und lösen
Sie das Rückhalteband des Gerätes.
2. Setzen Sie das Gerät in dieTragetasche und fixieren Sie
es mit dem Rückhalteband. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das
Rückhalteband nicht auf das Schlauchsystem drückt.
3. Schließen Sie den Gleichstromstecker des Netzteils oder des
Akkus hinten am Astral-Atemtherapiegerät an.
4. Schließen Sie Atemschlauch und antibakteriellen Filter (wenn
erforderlich) an der Luftauslassöffnung des Gerätes an, wenn
diese noch nicht angeschlossen sind.
5. Schließen Sie das Gerätefach. Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle
Reißverschlussfächer geschlossen sind.
Hinweise:
• Die Reißverschlüsse und Klappen müssen stets geschlossen
werden, um das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit zu schützen.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Schutzabdeckung geschlossen ist,
damit der Bildschirm des Astral-Atemtherapiegerätes nicht
beschädigt wird.
• Weitere Informationen zum Anschließen des
Schlauchsystems finden Sie in der Gebrauchsanweisung des
Astral-Atemtherapiegerätes.
Anschließen von Sauerstoff und anderem Zubehör
WARNUNG
•Bei der Verwendung in derTragetasche darf die
Flussrate für die zusätzliche Sauerstoffgabe 6l/min nicht
überschreiten.
•Sauerstoff darf nicht mit einem Doppelschlauchsystem
verwendet werden.

Sauerstoff und anderes Zubehör können über die Kabeleingänge
am hinteren Zugangsdeckel derTragetasche am Astral-Gerät
angeschlossen werden.
• Schließen Sie den Sauerstoffschlauch an den Niederdruck-
Sauerstoffanschluss auf der Geräterückseite an.
Vollständige Informationen zur zusätzlichen Sauerstoffgabe mit
dem Astral-Gerät finden Sie in seinem Klinischem Handbuch.
• Bei der Verwendung eines Pulsoximeters mit dem Gerät
sollten die Kabel an der Geräteseite entlang durch die
Schlauchsystemklappen an der Vorderseite gelegt werden.

Verwendung mit einem Rollstuhl
Siehe Abbildung E.
1. Befestigen Sie die vier Rollstuhlriemen an den
Befestigungspunkten an den Tragetaschenseiten.
2. Befestigen Sie jeden Riemen an einem festenTeil des
Rollstuhls und lösen Sie sie oder ziehen Sie sie an.
Hinweis: Alternativ dazu kann die Tasche mit den Rucksack- oder
Schulterriemen fixiert werden.
Verwendung als Rucksack
Bringen Sie die Rucksackriemen mit den Klettverschlüssen an
und befestigen Sie sie an den Befestigungspunkten oben und
unten an der Tragetasche.
Verwendung als Schultertasche
Befestigen Sie den Schulterriemen an den oberen beiden
Befestigungspunkten der Tragetasche.
Verwendung mit Netzspannung
WARNUNG
•Stellen Sie sicher, dass keine Stolper- oder
Erstickungsgefahr von dem Kabel ausgeht.
•Wenn das Astral-Gerät in derTragetasche verwendet wird,
wird der interne Akku bei hohen Umgebungstemperaturen
eventuell nicht aufgeladen. Nehmen Sie das Astral-Gerät
und das Netzteil in diesem Fall aus derTragetasche, damit
der interne Akku weiter geladen wird.
1. Schließen Sie den Gleichstromstecker des externen Netzteils
hinten am Astral-Atemtherapiegerät an.
2. Bevor Sie das Netzkabel mit dem ResMed-Netzteil
verbinden, müssen Sie sicherstellen, dass der Anschluss
des Netzkabels richtig mit der Eingangsbuchse des Netzteils
ausgerichtet ist.
3. Stecken Sie das andere Ende des Netzkabels in die
Steckdose.
Reinigung und Instandhaltung
Wischen Sie die Astral-Tragetasche mit einem feuchten Tuch und
einem milden Reinigungsmittel ab. Lassen Sie sie trocknen.

Usage prévu
La sacoche de transport est conçue pour permettre l’utilisation
mobile du respirateur Astral.
AVERTISSEMENT

la sacoche de transport.
•Lorsque le respirateur Astral est branché sur une
source d’alimentation externe, veuillez sortir son bloc
d’alimentation de la sacoche de transport pour éviter une
surchauffe.
•Veuillez vérifier tous les paramètres d'alarme (y compris
le volume de l'alarme) et les ajuster conformément à une
utilisation mobile.
Remarque: ResMed recommande d'ajuster le volume de
l'alarme au niveau le plus élevé avant d'utiliser l'Astral dans une

Installation
Branchement du bloc d’alimentation et de la batterie
Voir l’illustrationB.
1. Posez la sacoche sur une surface plane et ouvrez le
compartiment des accessoires.
2. Défaites les sangles de fixation.
3. Placez le bloc d’alimentation de l’Astral dans la poche du
milieu. Disposez les câbles comme indiqué sur l’illustration,
de façon à ce qu’ils sortent de la poche par le côté.
4. Branchement d’une batterie externe:
• Branchez le câble d’alimentation CC à la batterie externe.
• Placez la batterie externe dans la poche du bas, en veillant
à faire sortir le câble CC.
• Branchez le câble de la batterie externe à l’appareil en
passant par la partie inférieure du compartiment de
l’appareil.
5. Faites passer le câble CC par le trou prévu à cet effet au fond
du compartiment de l’appareil.
6. Remettez les sangles de fixation et, si besoin, ajustez leur
longueur.
7. Fermez le compartiment des accessoires. Vérifiez que toutes
les fermetures éclairs des compartiments sont fermées.
Branchement de l’appareil
AVERTISSEMENT
•Veillez à ce que les entrées d’air et les orifices de
ventilation de la sacoche de transport et de l’appareil
restent dégagés. Leur blocage risque de provoquer la
surchauffe de l’appareil.
•Ne posez pas la sacoche de transport verticalement sur le
sol pour ne pas bloquer son entrée d’air.
•Si de l’oxygène est utilisé, veuillez maintenir la sacoche
éloignée de toute source d’inflammation.
La sacoche de transport a été conçue pour permettre le transfert
de l’appareil pendant son fonctionnement. Si de l’oxygène
est utilisé, l’entrée d’oxygène doit être déconnectée, puis
reconnectée.

1. Ouvrez le compartiment de l’appareil et défaites la sangle
d’immobilisation de l’appareil.
2. Placez l’appareil dans la sacoche de transport et refermez la
sangle d’immobilisation pour maintenir l’appareil en place.
Vérifiez que la sangle d’immobilisation n’écrase pas le circuit.
3. Branchez la fiche CC du bloc d’alimentation ou de la batterie
à l’arrière de l’Astral.
4. Si ce n’est pas déjà le cas, raccordez le circuit respiratoire
du patient et fixez le filtre antibactérien (le cas échéant) à la
sortie d’air de l’appareil.
5. Fermez le compartiment de l’appareil. Vérifiez que toutes les
fermetures éclairs des compartiments sont fermées.
Remarques:
• Veuillez systématiquement fermer les fermetures éclair et les
rabats afin de protéger l’appareil contre l’humidité.

• Veillez à fermer le couvercle de protection pour éviter
d’endommager l’écran de l’Astral.
• Pour plus d’informations sur le branchement du circuit du

Branchement de l’oxygène et des autres accessoires
AVERTISSEMENT
•Lorsque de l’oxygène supplémentaire est utilisé à
l’intérieur de la sacoche de transport, le débit maximum
autorisé est de 6l/min.
•Ne jamais utiliser de l’oxygène avec un circuit double.

L’oxygène et les autres accessoires peuvent être branchés
à l’Astral en utilisant les ports de câble situés sur le panneau
arrière de la sacoche de transport.
• Branchez l’oxygène sur l’entrée d’oxygène à faible débit à
l’arrière de l’appareil.
Pour les instructions complètes d’utilisation de l’oxygène avec
l’appareil, veuillez vous référer au guide clinique de l’Astral.
• Si un oxymètre de pouls est utilisé avec l’appareil, ResMed
recommande de faire passer les câbles sur le côté de
l’appareil et à travers les rabats du circuit à l’avant de
l’appareil.

Configuration fauteuil roulant
Voir l’illustrationE.
1. Attachez les quatre sangles pour fauteuil roulant aux points
d’attache situés sur le côté de la sacoche de transport.
2. Attachez chaque sangle autour d’une partie fixe du fauteuil
roulant. Ajustez les sangles.
Remarque: vous pouvez aussi utiliser les bretelles ou la
bandoulière pour attacher la sacoche.
Configuration sac à dos
Attachez les bretelles en utilisant les bandes VELCRO®et les

AVERTISSEMENT

1. Branchez la fiche CC du bloc d’alimentation externe de
l’Astral à l’arrière de l’appareil.
2. Avant de brancher le câble d’alimentation au bloc
d’alimentation ResMed, vérifiez que l’extrémité du
connecteur du câble d’alimentation est correctement alignée
à la prise d’entrée du bloc d’alimentation.
3. Branchez l’autre extrémité du câble d’alimentation à une
prise de courant.
Nettoyage et entretien
Essuyez la sacoche de transport Astral avec un chiffon humide et
un détergent doux. Laissez-la sécher.

Installazione
Collegamento dell’alimentatore elettrico e della batteria
Vedere l’illustrazione B
1. Sistemare la borsa su una superficie piana e aprire la cerniera
lampo del comparto accessori.
2. Sganciare le cinghie di fermo.
3. Sistemare l’alimentatore elettrico dell’Astral nella tasca
centrale. Posizionare i cavi lateralmente in modo che
fuoriescano dalla tasca come illustrato.
4. Se si collega una batteria esterna:
• Collegare il cavo di alimentazione DC alla batteria esterna.
• Posizionare la batteria esterna nella tasca inferiore.
Assicurarsi che il cavo DC fuoriesca dalla tasca.
• Collegare il cavo della batteria esterna attraverso la parte
inferiore del comparto dell’apparecchio.
5. Spingere il cavo DC attraverso l’apposita apertura sul fondo
del comparto dell’apparecchio.
6. Agganciare le cinghie di fermo e all’occorrenza regolarne la
lunghezza.
7. Chiudere il comparto accessori. Assicurarsi che tutti i
comparti con cerniera lampo siano chiusi.
Collegamento dell’apparecchio
AVVERTENZE
•Assicurarsi che gli ingressi dell’aria e le aperture di
aerazione della borsa per il trasporto e dell’apparecchio
non siano ostruiti. L’ostruzione degli ingressi dell’aria
e/o delle aperture di aerazione può comportare il
surriscaldamento dell’apparecchio.
•Lasciare la borsa per il trasporto in posizione verticale
sul pavimento comporterebbe l’ostruzione dell’ingresso
dell’aria.
•Se si fa uso di ossigeno, tenere la borsa per il trasporto al
riparo da fonti di scintille.
La borsa per il trasporto è stata realizzata per consentire
il trasferimento dell’apparecchio quando è in funzione. Se
si fa uso di ossigeno, la presa dell’ossigeno va staccata e
successivamente riattaccata.

1. Aprire la cerniera lampo del comparto dell’apparecchio e
sganciare la cinghia di fermo dell’apparecchio.
2. Sistemare l’apparecchio nella borsa per il trasporto e
assicurarlo tramite l’apposita cinghia di fermo. Assicurarsi che
la cinghia di fermo dell’apparecchio non comprima il circuito.
3. Collegare la spina DC dell’alimentatore elettrico o della
batteria al retro dell’Astral.
4. Se l’operazione non è già stata effettuata, fissare il circuito
respiratorio e il filtro antibatterico (se in uso) all’uscita dell’aria
dell’apparecchio.
5. Chiudere il comparto dell’apparecchio. Assicurarsi che tutti i
comparti con cerniera lampo siano chiusi.

Collegamento dell’ossigeno e degli altri accessori

1. Fissare le quattro cinghie per sedie a rotelle ai punti di

2. Fissare ciascuna delle quattro cinghie a parti ben salde della
sedia a rotelle. Stringere o allentare secondo la necessità.
Nota: In alternativa, assicurare la borsa utilizzando gli spallacci o

Utilizzo della borsa come zaino
Fissare gli spallacci utilizzando le strisce di VELCRO®e
assicurare ai punti di ancoraggio sopra e sotto la borsa per il

Fissare la cinghia a tracolla ai due punti di ancoraggio superiori
della borsa per il trasporto.
Utilizzo con la corrente di rete
AVVERTENZA
•Assicurarsi che il cavo d’alimentazione non sia posizionato
dove ci si possa inciampare o possa comportare un rischio
di soffocamento.

•Quando l’Astral viene utilizzato nella borsa per il trasporto,
la batteria interna potrebbe non risultare in grado di
caricarsi se la temperatura ambiente supera. Se la batteria
interna non si carica, rimuovere l’Astral e l’alimentatore
elettrico dalla borsa per il trasporto per riprendere il
caricamento.

Installeren
De voedingseenheid en accu aansluiten
Zie illustratie B
1. Plaats de tas op een vlakke ondergrond en rits het
accessoirecompartiment open.
2. Maak de vastzetbanden los.
3. Plaats de Astral-voedingseenheid in het middelste vak. Plaats
de snoeren aan de zijkant, zodat ze het vak zoals afgebeeld
verlaten.
4. U kunt de Astral als volgt op een externe accu aansluiten:
• Sluit het DC-snoer van de stroomvoorziening op de
externe accu aan.
• Plaats de externe accu in het onderste vak. Let er hierbij
op dat het DC-snoer het vak verlaat.
• Sluit het snoer van de externe accu via de onderkant van
het apparaatcompartiment aan.
5. Duw het DC-snoer door de kabeldoorvoer in de bodem van
het apparaatcompartiment.
6. Maak de vastzetbanden vast en stel indien nodig de lengte
bij.
7. Sluit het accessoirecompartiment. Controleer of alle
ritsvakken zijn gesloten.
Het apparaat aansluiten
WAARSCHUWINGEN
•Zorg ervoor dat de luchtinlaten en ventilatiegaten van
de reistas en het apparaat worden vrijgehouden. Het
blokkeren van de luchtinlaten en/of ventilatiegaten kan tot
oververhitting van het apparaat leiden.
•Plaats de reistas niet rechtop op de grond, want hierdoor
wordt de luchtinlaat van de reistas geblokkeerd.
•Indien het apparaat in combinatie met zuurstof wordt
gebruikt, dient u ontstekingsbronnen uit de buurt van de
reistas te houden.
De reistas is zo ontworpen dat het apparaat in de tas kan
worden geplaatst terwijl het in werking is. Indien er gebruik van
zuurstof wordt gemaakt, moet de zuurstofinlaat eerst worden
losgekoppeld en vervolgens weer worden vastgekoppeld.

1. Rits het apparaatcompartiment open en maak de vastzetband
van het apparaat los.
2. Plaats het apparaat in de reistas en zet het stevig op zijn
plaats vast met behulp van de vastzetband. Zorg ervoor dat
de slangen niet worden ingedeukt door de vastzetband van
het apparaat.
3. Steek de DC-stekker van de voedingseenheid of accu in de
achterkant van het Astral-apparaat.
