With the DFA comfort, the temperature values, functional
states and energy measurements of a solar or heating sy-
stem can be easily and intuitively accessed and read. The
remote display comprises a base station and a mobile unit.
The base station is usually mounted within the living area
and connected to the controller via the RESOL VBus®. This
connection is used for data communication and to recharge
the mobile unit.
The remote display is ergonomically designed for one or
two hand operation. The DFA comfort can also be opera-
ted comfortably at the base station on the wall. The large
graphic display allows the operator to understand the pro-
cesses and change the settings of the solar and/or heating
system.

5. Installation
5.1 Base station
5.2 Mobile unit
6. Electrical connection
The base station is supplied with power by the controller
via the VBus®, a mains connection is not required. The VBus®-
cable has to be connected to the VBus® terminals (either
polarity).
The cable carries low voltage and must not run together
in a cable conduit with cables carrying a higher voltage than
50 V (please pay attention to the valid local regulations!).The
cross section must be at least 0,5 mm2 and the cable can
be extended up to 50 m in the case of a single connection.
The bus cable can be extended with a two-wire cable (bell
wire).
• Connect the cable to the VBus®- terminals of the con-
troller or module.
ATTENTION!
Avoid damage caused by electrostatic
discharge. Before beginning any interven-
tion, divert charges by touching metallic
surfaces, such as radiators and water
taps!
40
6.1 Base station
Mounting in dry interior locations only!
• Unscrew the screw from the upper part of the housing
and remove it along with the housing.
• Mount the lower part of the housing to the wall or mount
it into an in-wall box.
• The printed circuit board with the VBus®-terminals is lo-
cated inside the upper part of the housing. Connect the
VBus®-cable of the controller or the module respectively
to the VBus®-terminals of the base station (1) with either
polarity.
• Attach the upper part of the housing to the lower part of
the housing by means of the screw.
The mobile unit can be used as a hand-held unit or as
a wall-mounted unit. If it is used as a hand-held unit, the
stored values will be displayed, but new values will not be
received. To receive new data, the DFA comfort has to be
attached to the base station on the wall.

7. Changing the rechargeable batteries • Open the cover of the rechargeable battery compart-
ment in order to change the batteries. Replace the
rechargeable batteries with two new ones. Close the
cover.
Note:
Use rechargeable batteries by the same manu-
facturer only.
The mobile unit is supplied with energy via rechargeable
batteries (2 x rechargeable batteries AA Ni-MH, 1800 mAh).
As soon as the mobile unit is attached to the base station,
it will be supplied with energy via the base station and the
batteries will be recharged. Charging time is approx. 40
hours and standby time approx. 15 hours.
The rechargeable batteries are delivered uncharged and have
to be fully charged before the first usage. In order to shorten
the charging time, the rechargeable batteries can be charged
in a standard charger.
6.2 Mobile unit
Note: Fully discharging the rechargeable bat-
teries can shorten their lifespan. To avoid full
discharge, attach the mobile unit to the base
station after every use.
8. Operation and function
8.1 Adjustment buttons The DFA comfort is operated by 5 adjustment buttons
below the display of the mobile unit:
• Button 1: Selection between °C / K or °F / °Ra
In order to confirm the selected unit, do not
press any button for approx. 2 seconds
• Button 2: Scrolling forward or moving the scroll bar
downwards
• Button 3: Selection and/or confirmation
• Button 4: Scrolling backwards or moving the scroll bar

8.2 Display overview The display of the DFA comfort is divided up into different
areas:
• 1 : Information bar
• 2 : Main indication
• 3 : Scroll bar
Information bar:
The information bar consists of the status indication of the
rechargeable batteries ( ), the bus connection indication
( ) and the error indication ( ).
The state of charge of the rechargeable batteries is indica-
ted by means of the status indication . If the batteries
are being loaded, the frame around the status indicating will
be flashing.
If the mobile unit of the DFA comfort is supplied with power
via the RESOL VBus®, the symbol will appear.
If an error has been detected by a device connected to the bus
or by the DFA comfort, the symbol appears. This symbol
will also be displayed in the selection menu in front of the cor-
responding controller or module.
Main indication:
In the main indication the data issued by the controller or
module are displayed.
Scroll bar:
The scroll bar is used for scrolling up and down in the

troller or module which is connected to the DFA comfort. In
the following table the display values are shown. The values
indidcated by the DFA comfort depend on the controller
or module connected to the DFA comfort and will only be
displayed if they are available on the connected device.
10. Troubleshooting If the DFA comfort does not work correctly, please check
the following items:
1. Are the rechargeable batteries flat?
- Recharge if necessary
2. Is the cable tightly connected to the terminals?
- Connect cable tightly
3. Does the controller work correctly?
- Please pay attention to the controller manual
