It is strongly recommended a periodic check of
the pump pressure operation (annually or bet-
ter every six months, if the burner operation is
continuous).
If the value is lower than 1 bar, compared to
that one of the initial setting, please check the
cleaning of the pump and line filters.
In case the pressure setting was not restora-
ble, please replace the pump, in order to guar-
antee that the pump pressure during the pre-
purge time is at least 3.7 bar.

INSTALLATION
BOILER FIXING
Put on the flange (1) the screw and two nuts, (see fig. 2).
Widen, if necessary, the insulating gasket holes (5), (see fig. 3).
Fix the flange (1) to the boiler door (4) using screws (2) and (if necessary) the nuts (3) interposing the
insulating gasket (5), (see fig. 4).
MAINTENANCE POSITION
Access to the combustion head, diffuser disc / electrodes unit and nozzle, (see fig. 5).
Remove the burner out of the boiler, after loosing the fixing nut to the flange.
Hook the burner to the flange (1), by removing the combustion head (6) after loosing the fixing screws (7).
Remove the diffuser disc-holder assembly (9) from the nozzle-holder (8) after loosing its fixing screw.
Screw the nozzle (10).

Verify that the installed burner is lightly leaned towards the
button.

The burner is designed to allow entry of the flexible oil-lines
on either side of the burner.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
Warning: before starting the burner make sure that the return pipe-line is not clogged: any obstruc-
tion would cause the pump seals to break.
The pump vacuum should not exceed a
maximum of 0.4 bar (30 cm Hg).
Beyond this limit gas is released from
the oil.
Oil lines must be completely airtight.
The return line should terminate in
the oil tank at the same level as the
suction line; in this case a non-return
valve is not required.
When the return line arrives over the
fuel level, a non-return valve must be
used.
This solution however is less safe than
previous one, due to the possibility of
leakage of the valve.
PRIMING THE PUMP
Start the burner and wait for the priming.
Should lock-out occur prior to the arrival
of the fuel, await at least 20 seconds
before repeating the operation.
A filter must be installed on the suction fuel line.

The burner is provided with a socket for the direct electrical connection to the boiler’s
plug (see diagram at page 5). Should the boiler be without plug, it is then necessary:
– remove the socket and respective cable mounted on the burner;
– carry out the electrical connection direct to the wiring terminal block of the burner as shown on

COMBUSTION ADJUSTMENT
In conformity with Efficiency Directive 92/42/EEC the application of the burner on the boiler,
adjustment and testing must be carried out observing the instruction manual of the boiler, includ-
ing verification of the CO and CO2concentration in the flue gases, their temperatures and the
average temperature of the water in the boiler.
To suit the required appliance output, fit the nozzle then adjust the pump pressure, the setting of
the combustion head and the air damper opening in accordance with the following schedule.

The photoresistance is fitted directly into the
control-box (underneath the ignition-transformer)
on a plug-in support.

PUMP PRESSURE
12 bar : The pump leaves the factory set at this
value.
14 bar : Improves flame retention; it is therefore
suitable for ignitions at low temperatures.
COMBUSTION HEAD SETTING
(see fig. 4 and 5)
This is done when fitting the nozzle, with the blast
tube removed. It depends on the output of the
burner and is carried out by rotating the regulating
rod, till the terminal plane of the blast tube is level
with the set-point, as indicated in the schedule.
The combustion head is set for an output of 1.50
GPH at 12 bar, while the shutter is level with set-
point 3, as required in the table.
Combustion head settings indicated in the table are
valid for most cases. The setting of the fan output
according to the installation should normally be
done only through the air damper. Should one sub-
sequently want to retouch also the setting of the
combustion head, with the burner running, operate
on the rod (1) with a 6 mm spanner (2) as follows:
TURN TO THE RIGHT: (sign +)
In order to increase the volume of air entering the
combustion chamber and thus diminishing its pres-
sure. There is a reduction of CO2and the adhesion
of the flame to the air diffuser disc improves.
(Setting advisable for ignitions at low temperatures).
TURN TO THE LEFT: (sign –)
In order to reduce the volume of air entering the
combustion chamber and thus increasing its pres-
sure. The CO2improves and the adhesion of the
flame to the diffuser tends to reduce. (This setting
is not advisable for ignitions at low temperatures).
In any case do not bring the combustion head set-
ting more than one point away from that indicated
in the schedule. One set-point corresponds to 3
turns of the rod; a hole (3) at its end facilitates
counting the number of turns.
AIR DAMPER ADJUSTMENT (see fig. 6)
The mobile air damper (A) operated by the jack (B) assures the complete opening of the air
intake. The regulation of the air-rate is made by adjusting the fixed air damper (C), after loosing
the screws (D). When the optimal regulation is reached, screw tight the screws (D) to assure a
free movement of the mobile air damper (A).
The settings indicated in the schedule refer to the burner with its metal cover fitted and the com-
bustion chamber with “zero” depression.
These regulations are purely indicative. Each installation however, has its own unpredictable
working conditions: actual nozzle output; positive or negative pressure in the combustion-cham-
ber, the need of excess air, etc. All these conditions may require a different air-damper setting.

It is important to take account of the fact that the air
output of the fan differs according to whether the
burner has its metal cover fitted or not.
Therefore we recommended to proceed as follows:
– adjust the air damper as indicated in the schedule;
– mount the cover, simply by means of the upper
screw;
– check smoke number;
– should it become necessary to modify the air output,
remove the cover by loosening the screw, adjust the
air damper, remount the cover and finally recheck the
smoke number.
NOTE: When the burner works at a firing rate higher
than 9 kg/h remove the panel fitted inside the
metal cover. (See figure).

ADJUSTMENTS, TO AVOID FLAME - DETACHMENT, AT BURNER - IGNITION
This inconvenience can occur, when the temperature of the light oil decreases below + 5 °C.
1) CORRECT POSITIONING OF THE ELECTRODES
2) PUMP - SETTING
The pump is factory set, at a pressure of 12 bar.
When the temperature of the light oil decreases below + 5 °C, increase the pressure to 14 bar.
3) COMBUSTION-HEAD SETTING
Regulate the combustion-head one set-point further ahead than indicated in the instructions.
Example: the instructions require to set the combustion-head on set-point 3.
Instead, the setting is made on set-point 4.
4) FAN - AIR DAMPER ADJUSTMENT
Adjust the damper, reducing the excess air until the Bacharach number is not near 1.
(i.e. a combustion with the lowest possible excess-air).

Se recomienda realizar una revisión periódica
de la operación de presión de la bomba (anual-
mente o mejor aún cada seis meses, si el fun-
cionamiento del quemador es continuo).
Si el valor es menor que 1 bar, comparado con
el de la configuración inicial, verificar la limpieza
de la bomba y de los filtros de las líneas.
En caso de que los valores de presión no sean
restablecidos, reemplazar la bomba para garan-
tizar que la presión de la bomba durante el tiem-
po de pre-descarga sea de al menos 3,7 bar.

Compruebe que una vez instalado el quemador quede ligera-
mente inclinado hacia abajo. (Ver fig. 6).
Es posible conectar los tubos de alimentación del gasóleo a
ambos lados del quemador.

FIJACIÓN A LA CALDERA
• Introduzca en la brida (1) el tornillo y las dos tuercas, (ver fig. 2).
• Ensanche, si es necesario, los agujeros de la protección aislante (5), (ver fig. 3).
• Fije a la portezuela de la caldera (4) la brida (1) mediante los tornillos (2) y (si es necesario) las tuercas
(3) interponiendo la protección aislante (5), (ver Fig. 4).
POSICIÓN DE MANTENIMIENTO
Accesibilidad al cabezal de combustión, al grupo disco estabilizador - electrodos y a la boquilla, (ver
Fig. 5).
• Retirar el quemador de la caldera luego de haber quitado la tuerca de fijación a la brida.
• Enganchar el quemador a la brida (1), sacar el cabezal de combustión (6) luego de haber aflojado los tornillos
(7).
• Extraer del portaboquilla (8) el grupo soporte del disco estabilizador (9) luego de haber aflojado el tornillo.
• Enroscar la boquilla (10).

INSTALACIÓN HIDRÁULICA
Atención: antes de poner en funcionamiento el quemador hay que asegurarse de que el tubo de
retorno del combustible no esté obstruido. Una contrapresión excesiva causaría la rotura
del órgano de estanquidad de la bomba.
No hay que sobrepasar la depresión
máx. de 0,4 bar (30 cm Hg). Por encima
de este valor se produce la gasificación
del combustible.
Las tuberías deben ser perfectamente
estancas. En las instalaciones por
depresión, la tubería de retorno debe
llegar a la misma altura que la de as-
piración. En este caso nose necesita
válvula de pie.
En cambio, si la tubería de retorno llega
por encima del nivel del combustible, la
válvula de pie es indispensable. Esta se-
gunda solución es menos segura que la
precedente debido a la eventual falta de
estanquidad de esta válvula.
CEBADO DE LA BOMBA
Encienda el quemador y espere el ce-
bado. Si el bloqueo del quemador se
produce antes de la llegada del com-
bustible, esperar como mínimo 20 se-
gundos e iniciar de nuevo esta
operación.
Es necesario instalar un filtro en la línea de alimentación del combustible.

REGULACIÓN DE LA COMBUSTIÓN
Conforme a la Directiva de rendimiento 92/42/CEE, la aplicación del quemador en la caldera, la regu-
lación y el ensayo tienen que ser efectuados como indicado en el manual de instrucciones de la misma
caldera, incluido el control de la concentración de CO y CO2en los humos, su temperatura y la tem-
peratura media del agua de la caldera.
Según el caudal requerido por la caldera, se debe determinar la boquilla, la presión de la bomba, la
regulación del cabezal de combustión y la regulación del registro, ver la tabla que siguen.

dicho valor.
14 bar: Mejora el anclaje de la llama en la hélice.
por consiguiente, es indicada para los
encendidos a bajas temperaturas.
REGULACIÓN CABEZAL (ver fig. 4 y 5)
Se realiza en el momento del montaje de la boquilla,
con la tobera desmontada. Depende del caudal del
quemador y se ejecuta girando la varilla de regu-
lación hasta que el plano terminal de la tobera coin-
cide con la marca indicada en la tabla.
En el dibujo de al lado el cabezal está regulado para
un caudal de 1,50 GPH a 12 bar. La marca 3del par-
cializador coincide con el plano exterior de la tobera,
como indicado en la tabla.
Las regulaciones del cabezal indicadas en la tabla
son adecuadas para la mayoría de los casos.
Generalmente, la adaptación del caudal del venti-
lador a la instalación se debe efectuar sólo con el
registro de aire. Si desea modificar también la regu-
lación del cabezal, con el quemador en funcionami-
ento, regule la varilla (1) con una llave 6 mm (2) de la
siguiente manera:
GIRE HACIA LA DERECHA: (signo +)
Para aumentar la cantidad de aire introducido en la
cámara de combustión y disminuir su presión. El CO2
disminuye y el anclaje de la llama en el disco de tur-
bulencia mejora (Regulación indicada para encendi-

De todas maneras, no desplace la regulación del
cabezal más allá de la marca del valor indicado en
la tabla. Una marca corresponde a tres vueltas de
la varilla. Un orificio (3) en su extremo facilita con-
tar las vueltas.
REGULACIÓN REGISTRO DEL AIRE (ver fig. 6)
El registro móvil (A), accionado por el hidráulico del aire (B), asegura la apertura completa de la
boca de aspiración. El caudal de aire se regula con el registro fijo (C) tras haber aflojado los
tornillos (D). Una vez obtenida la regulación ideal, enrosque completamente los tornillos (D)
para asegurar el movimiento libre del registro móvil (A).
La regulación indicada en la tabla se refiere al quemador con el envolvente montado y la cámara
de combustión sin vacío.
Dicha regulación es sólo indicativa. Cada instalación funciona en condiciones diferentes, no previs-
ibles: caudal efectivo de la boquilla, presión o vacío en la cámara de combustión, exceso de aire
necesario, etc. Todas estas condiciones pueden requerir una regulación diferente del registro.
