2General safety instructions
2.1 Intended use
The machine is an insulation stripping machinedesignedexclusively forstripping
insulation from flexibleconductors.For this reason, because of its construction, the
machine has only this intendeduse.
For the intendeduse,the following mustbe observed:
–All notes from the operating instructions
–The documentation of the supplied products,as well as
–The notes for servicing/maintenance
Any other use is deemed improper.
The details in section 3.2 "Technical data"as well as in the original documentation
for any accompanying supplied products must be observed and adhered to.An im-
proper useof the productis notknown to the manufacturer.The manufacturer is
not liable for any damage resultingfrominappropriateor unintendeduse.
2.2 The following is not permitted
–Removing notification or warning signs.
–Opening the machineduring operation.
–Using the machine with obvious defects or damage.
–The insertion of objectsthatare notconductors.
2.3 Machine dangers
A risk evaluation with final safety inspection wasperformed on theinsulationstrip-
pingmachine.
2.4 Operational hazards
The operator may rectifyonly thosefaults for which the housing doesnot need to
be removed.
◼The machine mustbe disconnected fromthe power gridbeforechanging tools or
spare parts.
2.5 Hazardsources
◼Before performing servicing, maintenance and cleaning workon the machine,
switch off the machine,disconnect itfromthe power supply (e.g.cutoff the elec-
tricity supply, switch off the fuse).
Caution!
Risk of injury due to missing safety equipment!
◼Never removesafety equipment or decommissionitby making
changes to the machine.

2.6 Safety equipment
Safety equipment isinstalled to protectpersonnel.The operating company is
obliged to inspectthe safety devicesannually.
–Housing: Afterremoval of the housing, ensurethatthe earthingwireisinserted
before the machineis closed again.The housingmaybe removed onlyby special-
ists or qualified personnel.
–Switched-mode powersupply: The SMPS protects against dangerous voltages,
because not morethan 60 VACor 110VDC may be present.
Under no circumstances may safety devicesbe changed, removed orcircumvented
by changes to the machine.
2.7 Warning signs at and on themachine or components
–PE conductorconnection: This marking isplaced on theearth screw.
Symbol
Meaning
The protective earth is a measure that in the event of a fault protects
against dangerous touch voltage and electrical shock. The "protective
earth" measure is provided by the protective conductor.
The connectionis made via an IEC connector with leading protective conductor
contact.The "PE" protectiveconductor(green/yellowinsulating sheathonly in
Germany) is used for these protective measures.
2.8 Residualrisks
Even when allsafety and warning notes areobserved,residualrisks remain forthe
machine operation.
The machine is state-of-the-art and builtaccording to recognisedsafety regula-
tions. Nevertheless, hazards forusers or third-parties can result when operating
the machine.
–The machine may be usedonly forthe intended purpose.
–The machine mustbe in propersafety condition during commissioning.

2.9 Safety measures at the installationsite
The machine mustbe placedstableon atable.
–There is a large hazard risk should amachinefall.
Note:
Inner-companyinstructions and checks should ensurethatthe work-
place and its vicinity remainclean and uncluttered.
2.10 Notes for the operating company
–The operating companyis obligedto write operatinginstructions.
–The operating companyis obligedto inspectthe safety devices annually.
–Deploy only original fuses with the specifiedamperage.
–Knowledgeof the local,operational safety and accident-preventionregulations.
–All notes on machinesmustbe keptlegible,and renewedwhennecessary.
◼Notify the manufacturer withoutdelay shoulddefects becomeapparent,provid-
ed they were not causedintentionally.

2.11 Noise
The A-evaluated equivalent continuous sound pressurelevelof the insulationstrip-
ping machine is ≤70 dB(A).
Consequently, earmuffs are not requiredfor operating the machine.

4.1 Setting up the machine
◼Read the operatinginstructions carefully beforecommissioningthe machine.
◼Deploy the machine onlyin a dry environment.
Attention!
The electrical datashown on the rating plate mustmatch thatof the powergrid.
Otherwise,damagecan occur to the machine.
◼Connectthe mains cableto the machineand to the powersupply.

◼Switch on the mains switch atthe mains filter module.
4.3 Setting the length unit (mm or inch)

4.4 Setting the cross-section

cross-section.

Insert the supplementary funnel in the feed funnel for wire cross-
sections from 0.05 –0.34mm².

4.5 Setting the stripping length
◼Release the brake (fig.3,item1) of the settingbuttonby turning itcounter-
clockwise.

value).

4.6 Setting the draw-off length
◼Release the brake (fig.5,item1) of the setting buttonby turning itcounter-
clockwise.

4.7 Wire entry
Note:

Manual mode
◼Keep the touchdisplay pressedduring switchon.
Menu 2 "Manual" is displayedflashing.
◼In manualmode,the motor can beadjustedslowly with touchcontactduring
jogging.
◼If the touch display is pressedfor atleast 3 seconds, a switch is made back to
menu 1 "Display".
4.8.3 "Counter"menu
◼Select menu 3 "Counter"To do this,press thetouchdisplay foratleast3 sec-
onds.

5Maintenance
Caution!
Risk of injury atthe blades.
◼Never touch theblades.
5.1 Emptying thestripped insulation scrapcontainer
◼Withdrawthe strippedinsulationscrapcontainer,empty itand reinsert itto the
limit stop.
5.2 Interior
Note:
The machine interiorshould be cleaned and oiled in six-monthlyin-
tervalsor after 50,000 –100,000activations.
◼Loosen the screws and removethe front panel.
◼Remove the strippedinsulationscrap and any contamination.
◼Oil very sparinglythe wire-holding pliers (inner sideof the frontplate) and the
pressure-ball screws (fig. 9) with standardmotor oil.
◼Close the front panel. To do this:
–Push the actuator level tothe left.
–Place the frontpanel and,by movingfromrightto left,fasten itto the front
frame of the machine (attach with the alignmentpin on the right-handside).
–Fasten the front panel with the screws.

5.3 Replacing the insulation stripping blade
Warning!
Electrical shock causedby working on live components!
◼Before working on the machine,itmustbe disconnected from
the power grid.
◼Loosen the screws and removethe front panel.
◼Loosen the fastening screws and removethe bladefastener.
◼Either turn the insulationstripping bladeor replaceitwith anewone. Reinsert
the blade fastenerand tightenthe fastening screws.

◼Close the frontpanel.To do this:
–Push the actuator levelto the left.
–Place the frontpanel and,by movingfromrightto left,fasten itto the front
frame of the machine (attach with the alignmentpin on the right-handside).
–Fasten the front panel with the screws.
6Troubleshooting
6.1 Machine does not start
The power supplyis interrupted.
◼Check the mains cableand the fuses.

6.2 No start for insertedwire
Start sensor (S1) is blockedwith stripped insulation scrap.
◼Press the "Manual cycle" touchdisplay briefly.
Wire insertedincorrectly.
◼Insertthe wire as describedin section4.7 "Wireentry".
6.3 Larger number of rejects
The stripped insulation scrap containeris full.
◼Empty the stripped insulationscrap container.
Cross-section settingbutton adjusted.
◼Check the setting
Insulation stripping bladedamaged or installed incorrectly.
◼Repair or replaceblade.
6.4 Error messages
Flashing error messages in the touch display.
◼To acknowledge, press the touch displaybriefly.
