Locking Quick Release Manual
Guidelines/Restrictions:
- Bicycles must be equipped wit quick release front w eel.
- Do not exceed t e load capacity of your ve icle’s roof rack.
- Bicycle weig t limit is 35lbs wit t is carrier.
- Forks equipped wit carbon fiber dropouts or forks wit out safety tabs are not covered under t is
warranty.
To Load a Bicycle
Remove front w eel from bicycle. Open t e andle of t e quick release so t e black andle is
straig t and t e fixed end points down. Load t e fork onto t e quick release so bot fork ends
are resting straig t on t e quick release. Close t e andle by flipping it 90 degrees to t e
closed position. If it is too loose, open t e andle and turn it like a screwdriver (clockwise to
tig ten, counter clockwise to loosen), and close t e andle again.
Re-adjust until a firm and positive snap is felt w en closed.
T e Quick Release Skewer is not an on/off switc . You must close t e andle wit enoug
tension to old t e bicycle.
Rock t e bicycle side to side to ensure proper mounting. T e fork s ould be properly seated
and not move. If unsure, do not use. Failure to comply could result in t e bicycle detac ing
wit subsequent damage to t e bicycle, ve icle, or ot er motorist.
Maintenance:
Once a year, remove t e rack from t e car, clean and inspect for damage. Replace if worn or
corroded. Put a drop of oil (c ain lube, motor oil etc.) on t e metal pivot points, t reads and
axle of t e Quick Release.
Note: Position your bike mount at least 3” in from t e end of t e bar, t is will prevent t e
andle from being turned in t e lock positions.

Caution:
- Remove Baby Seats, Panniers, U-Locks or items w ic could detac from t e bicycle.
- Do not use bicycle covers, bicycle bras, or bikes equipped wit disc w eels.
- Do not take t e ve icle off road.
- Locks are only deterrents to t ieves, RockyMounts cannot be eld liable for stolen bicycles.
- Remove rack before entering a car was .
- C eck all fastenings (nuts, bolts, straps and skewer) before eac use.
One Year Limited Warranty
Rocky Mounts Inc. Warrants to t e original purc aser t at t e product will be free from
defects in material and/or workmans ip for one (1) year from t e date of original retail
purc ase. Subject to t e limitations stated below, Rocky Mounts will at its own expense during
t e one year warranty period repair or replace t e defective component(s). T e purc aser will
be responsible for freig t c arges to Rocky Mounts. T is warranty is only applicable if t e
instructions are correctly followed and t e components are properly used. T is warranty is not
applicable if t e defect is caused by normal wear and tear or exposure, t e component(s) is
damaged from misuse, abuse, t eft, fire, accident, alteration, mixing t ird party components
wit t e system and/or unlawful operation of t e ve icle. Rocky Mounts Inc. cannot and does
not assume responsibility for any damages to any property arising out of t e improper
attac ment to a ve icle or a bicycle to t e system or use of its products. T is limited warranty
applies to Rocky Mounts products and not to t e products used in conjunction wit Rocky
Mounts products.
T is warranty is in lieu of all ot er warranties, expressed or implied, and does not cover
consequential damages of any kind arising from t e use or misuse of Rocky Mounts products.
ROCKY MOUNTS DOES NOT AUTHORIZE ANY PERSON TO ASSUME, ON ITS BE- HALF, ANY
OTHER OBLIGATION OR LIABILITY.
