FS-1-WL Connection Guide
(Connect with the GS-1)
This guide shows you how to pair the FS-1-WL
wirelessly to the GS-1 using BLE MIDI.
“Pairing” involves registering the MIDI device that
you want to use (making the devices recognize each
other) with the FS-1-WL.
Pairing the FS-1-WL with another compatible
device lets you control that device via MIDI from the
FS-1-WL.

What is “BLE MIDI”?
“BLE MIDI” is the technology used to transmit
and receive MIDI messages wirelessly via
Bluetooth® LE standard.
This is ocially known as “MIDI over Bluetooth Low
Energy”.

Connecting the FS-1-WL to the
GS-1
1. Turn both the GS-1 and the FS-1-WL on, and place
them near each other.
2. Press the [Bluetooth] button on the GS-1.
The unit enters pairing mode, and the Bluetooth
indicator on the GS-1 rapidly blinks blue.
3. Press the [Bluetooth] (INSTRUMENT) button on
the FS-1-WL.
The Bluetooth indicator on the FS-1-WL blinks
white, and pairing begins.
The Bluetooth indicators on both units stop
blinking and remain lit when pairing is nished,
and now the GS-1 and FS-1-WL are paired.
If connected correctly, it will be in the following
state.
GS-1 Bluetooth indicator Lit blue
FS-1-WL [Bluetooth] (INSTRUMENT)
indicator Lit white
* If the devices do not pair after one minute has
passed, pairing mode is automatically canceled.
* The units automatically connect next time they
are restarted.

The FS-1-WL remembers the information
for the last Bluetooth device to which it was
connected.
When connecting to a dierent device after
connecting to the GS-1, or when turning o the
power while the Bluetooth indicator is blinking
white (not connected), or when doing a factory
reset of the FS-1-WL, the unit does not pair
automatically.
In this case, you must start from step 1 to
congure the settings.

and GS-1 Editor (iOS/Android)
at the same time
Connect the GS-1 and the FS-1-WL, and then
connect the GS-1 and the GS-1 Editor.
1. Turn both the GS-1 and the FS-1-WL on, and place
them near each other.
2. Press the [Bluetooth] button on the GS-1.
The unit enters pairing mode, and the Bluetooth
indicator on the GS-1 rapidly blinks blue.
3. Press the [Bluetooth] (INSTRUMENT) button on
the FS-1-WL.
The Bluetooth indicator on the GS-1 blinks white,
and pairing begins.
The Bluetooth indicators on both units stop
blinking and remain lit when pairing is nished,
and now the GS-1 and FS-1-WL are paired.
4. Press the [Bluetooth] button on the GS-1.
The Bluetooth indicator on the GS-1 rapidly
blinks blue.

5. Select “GS-1+” from the GS-1 Editor app.
The Bluetooth indicator on the GS-1 stops
blinking and remains lit when pairing is nished.
If connected correctly, it will be in the following
state.

NOTE
¹You cannot use the GS-1 Editor and the
FS-1-WL Editor at the same time.
¹Do not tap “FS-1-WL+”in GS-1 Editor app while
connecting.

Operating GS-1 from FS-1-WL
When FS-1-WL and GS-1 set to their default values,
the FS-1-WL controls correspond to the following
parameters on GS-1.
* To operate GS-1 with FS-1-WL, CC# of FS-1-WL and CC# of GS-1
must match.

In default settings, CTL1 (CC#85) and CTL2 (CC#86) of FS-1-WL are
not subject to GS-1 operation.
