FS-1-WL Connection Guide
(Connect with WM-1, WM-1D)
This guide shows you how to pair the FS-1-WL
wirelessly to the WM-1 or WM-1D using BLE MIDI.
“Pairing” involves registering the MIDI device that
you want to use (making the devices recognize each
other) with the FS-1-WL.
Pairing the FS-1-WL with another compatible
device lets you control that device via MIDI from the
FS-1-WL.

What is “BLE MIDI”?
“BLE MIDI” is the technology used to transmit
and receive MIDI messages wirelessly via
Bluetooth® LE standard.
This is ocially known as “MIDI over Bluetooth Low
Energy”.

Connecting the FS-1-WL to the
WM-1
* You can’t use the FAST MODE connection of the
WM-1. The only mode you can use to connect
with the FS-1-WL is STANDARD (Host) mode.
1. Connect the WM-1 to the MIDI device and set it to
STANDARD (Host) mode.
2. Power up the FS-1-WL in MIDI mode, and place it
near the WM-1.
3. Press the [Bluetooth] (INSTRUMENT) button on
the FS-1-WL.
The Bluetooth indicator on the FS-1-WL blinks
white, and pairing begins.
The Bluetooth indicators on both units stop
blinking and remain lit when pairing is nished,
and the indicator on the WM-1 starts blinking
slowly.
* The units automatically connect next time they
are restarted.
* If the devices do not pair after one minute has
passed, pairing mode is automatically canceled.

The FS-1-WL remembers the information
for the last Bluetooth device to which it was
connected.
When connecting to a dierent device after
connecting to the WM-1, or when turning o
the power while the Bluetooth indicator is
blinking white (not connected), or when doing
a factory reset of the FS-1-WL, the unit does not
pair automatically.
In this case, you must start from step 1 to
congure the settings.

Connecting the FS-1-WL to the
WM-1D
* You can’t use the FAST MODE connection of the
WM-1D. The only mode you can use to connect
with the FS-1-WL is STANDARD (Host) mode.
1. Connect the WM-1D to your computer, and set it
to STANDARD (Host) mode.
2. Power up the FS-1-WL in MIDI mode, and place it
near the WM-1D.
3. Press the [Bluetooth] (INSTRUMENT) button on
the FS-1-WL.
The Bluetooth indicator on the FS-1-WL blinks
white, and pairing begins.
The Bluetooth indicators on both units stop
blinking and remain lit when pairing is nished,
and the indicator on the WM-1D starts blinking
slowly.
