The initial operation should be performed completely outdoors and in the absence of not-
authorized persons in order to avoid any disturbances during the execution of the following steps.
Assure yourself that all advices in this manual have been considered and that you have natural
relighters at your disposal.
For the initial operation a usage of 3-4 kg of pellets is sucient.
Loading and rst ring up:
1. please open the front door of the base element;
2. draw out the brazier;
3. ll in 3-4 kg of pellets;
4. place 2-3 pieces of a natural relighter onto the pellets and light them. (remeber that the use
of impropriate relighters could lead to a dysfunctioning of the heater);
5. cover the brazier with the dedicated ame reducer after being sure that their combustion
started well;
6. insert the brazier in the base element of the heater again, lock the door,end remove the key
storing it in a safe place.
It will be necessary to wait for 10 minutes before that the ame starts to come out from the glass
tube (mod. RUBINO) or inside the area surrounded by the glasses (DIAMANTE).
Do not open the door of the base element during the combustion.
Let the heater to operate until the pellets in the burner have completely burned, bearing in mind
that after the diminishing of the ame the heater emits heat for at least 2 hours respectively
corresponding to the quantity of pellets you have used.
INITIAL OPERATION
The combustion of pellets takes
place through pyrolysis, so that
the combustion material burns
top down. Therefore, pellets
should never be relled before
the prior load has burned
down completely. Discharge
the brazier afterwards and only
then rell new combustion
material.
The exclusive system adopted
by ROSSOFUOCO® allows
the discharging and relling
operations to be carried out
much faster.
FUNCTIONING OF THE HEATER
The temperature within the brazier could neither be controlled nor blocked as a natural process of
combustion is taking place.
Combustion
by means of
pyrolysis is a
natural chemical
process generating
biogas. The
process diminishes
the more the
combustion
material exhausts
itself and gets
transformed into
residuals.(CHAR)
Not the pellets
themselves but the

THE PYROLYSIS

Please, read carefully the entire instruction manual.
Loanding and ring up:
1. open the front door of the base;
2. extract the burner;
3. load the burner with the desired and allowed quantity of pellet. In the following schedule
there is the help for the correct quantity of pellet;
HOW TO LOAD, FIRE UP, UNLOAD AND
RELOAD THE HEATER
KG PELLET FLAME DURATION
3 kg. about 1,5 hours
4 kg. about 2 hours
5 kg. about 2,5 hours
6 kg. about 3,5 hours
7 kg. about 4,5 hours
4. to re up the Heater you have to use 2/3 pieces of an ecological relighter and re them up
(the use of inappropriate relighter can provoke the malfunction of the system);
5. You make sure that the combustion has started so put the ame-reducer on the burner.
During the ignition you should be ensured that everything is equipped properly for the
correct functioning;
6. Reinsert the burner inside the base of the Heater and lock the door. Put the key in a safe place;
It will be necessary to wait for 10 minutes before that the ame starts to come out from the glass
tube (mod. RUBINO) or inside the area surrounded by the glasses (DIAMANTE).
Especially on the occasion of the rst ignition or of those immediately following it is considered normal
the emission of whitish fumes and odors; this can be also repeated, but gradually less intense, for some
times, but it is normal in the rst heating of a new product.
Discharge at end combustion:
7. Open the front door of the base element;
8. Wearing the appropriated reproof mitts remove the cover of the collecting drawer
underlying the brazier;
9. Keep wearing the reproof mitts and open the brazier at its bottom end in order to discharge
the combustion residual in the drawer;
10. Clean the inside of the breazier, using the poker if necessary, removing any residual pellets
even if still burning.;
11. please check that the edges and the lower door are clean so to have a perfect closing; then
close it;
12. close the drawer with its cover;
Empty out the drawer only if you are sure that the combustion material does not glow or burn
anymore. For the disposal of combustion residuals all local legislative regulations have to be
respected.
Now, after the rst ignition and subsequent cleaning, the heater is ready for normal use.
page 09

page 10
Throughout the combustion do not open the door of the base.
It is recommended to make the heater works for the entire duration of the pellet combustion.
The suggested pellet quantity is roughly calculated because the Heater lled with a few quantity of
pellet produces an higher ame because there is more air inside the burner, but the duration will
be shorter. On the contrary if the Heater is lled with a big quantity of pellet the duration will be
longer but the ame will be lower because of the minor quantity of air inside the burner.
When the ame nishes the Heater keep on heating for at least 2 hours depending on the initial
quantity of pellet which continues to heat also there isn’t open ame.
The Heater can be lled again opening the drawer under the burner, according to the instructions
at the following points from 7 to 12 (unload and cleaning operations) and then following the
instructions at the previous points from 3 to 6 (loading and ring up) for refuelling the burner with
additional pellet.
Once the Heater is on, it will work with a pyrolysis process (g. at page 08) which consists in the
top-down anaerobic combustion of the pellet. This process will transform the combusted pellet in
a completely natural compound, that will be easy to dispose of. Anyway, pay attention to the rules
in force in your country about the separate collection.
Unloading:
7. open the door of the base and extract the burner;
8. Wearing the appropriated reproof mitts, remove the top of the ash drawer;
9. Keep wearing the reproof mitts, you have to operate the opening of the part underneath
the burner so you can drop the combustion residues inside the ash drawer;
10. Clean the inside of the breazier, using the poker if necessary, removing any residual pellets
even if still burning.;
11. please check that the edges and the lower door are clean so to have a perfect closing; then
close it;
12. close the drawer with its cover.
WARNING: THE ASH DRAWER HAS TO BE EMPTIED ONLY WHEN THE COMBUSTION RESIDUES INSIDE WILL BE
COMPLETELY COLD AND OFF. FOR THE DISPOSAL YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE RULES IN FORCE IN YOUR COUNTRY
ABOUT THE SEPARATE COLLECTION
Reload:
When you executed the operations until the previous point 12, the Heater is ready to be used
again. You have only to repeat the load procedure restarted from the point 3 of the “LOADING AND
FIRING UP” instructions.
It is reiterated that:
• When the Heater is hot, its functioning and status has to be constantly controlled;
• The operations on the Heater has to be done always with the standard issue protections and
taking the necessary precautions to avoid burns.
• The temperature and the duration of the ame indicated on the previous schedule of this
manual and on the Heater’s brochure are purely indicative and they are directly evaluated
and regulated according to common sense and specic conditions of the Heater’s user and
what kind of pellet used.
• After every ignitions it is recommended to clean well the Heater, to empty the ash drawer
with the opening under the burner using the attention and care recommended previously.
The cleaning of the burner can be done both leaving inside the base the burner, opening
the top of the ash drawer, and extracting the burner and the ash drawer from the Heater.

To clean it is recommended to use cleaning products for glass and cloth. Removing every time
any pellet residuals inside the burner to avoid that the pyrolysis doesn’t occur correctly in the next
ignition.
Every 2/3 usage of the Heater, it is recommended a lubrication of the burner’ sliding guides, to
avoid the malfunction of the system.
Glass tube cleaning (mod. RUBINO):
1. it makes sure that there isn’t ame and the Heater is cold and o;
2. open the heat diuser door;
3. lift upwards the glass to bring it out from the base and extract it from the grate;
4. spray inside with cleaning products;
5. in the tube inserts a big quantity of kitchen towel or a dry cloth;
6. help yourself with a tube or a stick with a smaller diameter than the tube’s one and push the
kitchen towel or the dry cloth until bring them out on the other side of the tube;
7. in the event that the tube would have droplets of humidity or their residues, having been
outdoor, eliminate them with the use of common glass cleaning product. Spray it on the tube
and dry it carefully; for the inner part of the tube you follow the instructions on the point 4.
8. after tube cleaning, you have to reposition the glass tube inclining and reinserting it before
with an upward movement and then with a downward one until you reinsert it correctly in its
place on the base of the Heater;
9. close again the heat diuser door.
Glasses cleaning (mod. DIAMANTE):
10. it makes sure that there isn’t ame and the Heater is cold and o;
11. spray the glasses with cleaning products;
12. clean using kitchen towel or a dry cloth;
13. in the event that the tube would have droplets of humidity or their residues, having been
outdoor, eliminate them with the use of common glass cleaning product. Spray the glasses
and dry them carefully;
14. nel caso in cui i vetri, essendostati all’esterno presentassero goccioline di umidità o loro
residui procedere alla loro eliminazione spruzzandoli con comuni prodotti per la pulizia dei
vetri, pulendoli ed asciugandoli con un panno agendo con la cura l’attenzione dovute;
15. after the cleaning pulizia eettuata check the correct positioning of the glasses.
To avoid that the dust of the combustion will form a crust and it makes the tube or the glasses
impossible to be clean, you have to perform the cleaning after every combustion or at the latest
two combustions.
Structure cleaning:
16. cleaning also the varnished parts with a soft cloth, water and mild soap;
17. cleaning carefully the ash of the Heater as previously described in these instructions.
FOR ANY OPERATIONS OF CLEANING IT IS RECCOMENDED TO NOT USE ABRASIVE OR CORROSIVE PRODUCTS.
