●Anydamagecausedbythefuelused,inwhichtheoilratioislowerthan20:1ratio,isnotwarranted.

●Beforestartingtheengine,injectasuitableamount(approx.20〜30cc)ofengineoilintothelubrica-
tionnippleonthecrankcaseusingasyringeorpumpwhileturningthepropellerbyhand.Afterthat,
plugthisnipple.Asexcessisdischargedfromthebreathernipple,attachatubetothebreathernipple.

●Use15:1fuel:oilratioforbreak-in
●NevermakethefuelmixtureleanduringBreak-in.Itcouldcauseseizureevenduringidlingorlow
speedrunning.
●Beforestartingtheengine,openthemainneedleApprox.1.5~2turnsopen(CCW)fromfullyclosed.
●Starttheengine(usingastarterisrecommendedforsafety).
●Soonafterstarting,ContinuetoturnthemainneedleCCWtodropRPMsuntiljustbeforeenginestops
keepingthethrottleopenedfully.
●IfopeningmainneedledoesnʼtdropRPM,thenopentheslowneedletoo.
●Runinthisveryrichconditionfor1literoffuel.

3.Propeller

5.Adjustmentofcarburetorafterinitialbreak-in.
◇Needlereferenceposition(Setafterinitialbreak-in)
●Starttheengineafteradjustingtheneedletothefollowing
referencevalue.
●Mainneedle:Approx.1.5-2turnCCWfromfullyclosed
●Slowneedle:Approx.3.5~4turnsCCWfromfullyclosed(Then
throttlevalveshouldbefullyclosed)
●Actually,thebestpositionoftheneedlesvarydependingonthe
prop,temperature,humidityandsoon.Pleaseadjustasnecessary
afterobservingtheengineperformanceduringflight.
◇Peakadjustment
●Afterstartingtheengine,warmupforapprox.30secondsatlowspeed.
●Achievethepeakatfullthrottle.
→TurnthemainneedleCWgraduallytothepositionwheretheRPMisgreatest(thepeak).ContinuingtoturntheneedleCWpastthe
peakcouldleadtoseizuresoturnitslowlyandcarefully.IftheRPMsuddenlydecreasesafterpassingthepeak,instantlyturnthemain
needleCCWtoagainincreasetheRPM.Otherwiseitcoulddamagetheengineseriously.
●OnceachievingpeakRPM,returnthethrottletolowspeed.Makeanoteofthepositionofmainneedleatthepeakatthattime.
(HowmanyturnsyoudidCWbasedonthereferencevalue.)
◇SlowneedleAdjustment
●Afterstartingtheengine,achievethepeakRPMreferringtotheprocedureabove.DONOTmovethemainneedlefromthepeakposition
atthisstage.
●AfterachievingpeakRPM,nextisslowneedleadjustment.OpenthethrottlefromlowRPMtofullthrottlequickly.
●IftheenginehesitatesforamomentorstallsbeforetheenginereachesmaxRPM,Itʼsbecausethemixtureistoolean.Thenturntheslow
needleCCWslightly.
●IftheengineisslowtoreachpeakRPM(fullthrottleset),itʼsbecausethemixtureistoorich.ThenturntheslowneedleCWslightly.
●AdjusttheslowneedleasaboveuntiltheRPMfollowsthethrottlemovementsmoothly.Theimportantpointistoadjusttheslowneedle
AFTERthemainneedlehasbeenadjustedtoitspeak.
●Nowbreak-inatgroundlevelisdone.Adjusttappetsbythemethoddescribedlater.
◇Pre-flight/Flightadjustment
●Whentheslowneedleadjustmentisdone,checktheresponsebyrevvingupfromlowspeedtofullthrottlequicklyseveraltimes.
●OpenthethrottlefullyandturnthemainneedleCCWapprox.60〜90degreesfromthepeakposition.Thisistomakethefuelmixture
richerintheairwheretheRPMgethigherthanontheground.
●Afteralladjustmentsaremade,flyyouraircraftandfinetunetheengineaccordingtothesituation.Basicallytuningshouldbedonewith
themainneedle.Readjustmentoftheslowneedleisrarelyneededifthefirstadjustmentoftheslowneedlehasbeendonesuccessfully.
6.Tappetadjustment
Thevalveclearanceshouldbecheckedandadjustedafterbreak-inandeverytimeaftertwohourswhiletheengineiscold.Beforeadjusting
tappetgaps,tightenthescrewsaroundcylindersetc.
1.Removethesparkplugand
rockerarmcoversofacylinder.
ThenturnthepropCCWby
handtoplacethepistonatTDC
ofcompressionstroke.
2.Loosenthelocknutandadjust
thegapbyhexagonalwrench
untilyougetthecorrectgap
(belowpic)forbothofintake&
exhaust.
3.Oncethegapisset,tightenthelock
nutandattachtheplugandcovers.
Dothesameadjustmentforthe
anothercylinderinorder.
4.Turnthepropbyhandtocheckif
thecompressionisenough.Ifthe
gapislessthan0,thevalveisalways
openedslightlyandwilllose
compression.Thenadjustagain.

exhaustnuts,andcylinderscrews.
●Whentheexhaustvalvegetsdullbycarbonorsludgeespeciallyincoldatmosphere,removetherockercoverandapplysomeanti-rust
spraytotheexhaustvalvetohelpthevalvetomovesmoothly.Applylubricanttoallowthevalvespringsreturnsmoothly.Youcancheckit
byyourfingers.
●Payattentiontothesurroundingssoasnottodisturbothersbynoiseandexhaust.
●Alwayskeepspectatorsbehindtheenginewhenoperatingtheengine.
●Asexhaustsmokeisharmful,becarefulnottobreatheinorotherwiseexposeyourselftoitsharmfuleffects.
●Payattentionnottotouchtherotatingpropellerwhenstartingengine,andmovetorearsideoftheaircraftoncetheengineisstarted.
