IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING - When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed. Failure to comply with these instructions
may cause a fire, electrical shocks or other injury to persons or
property
1. Remove product from the packaging and ensure it is in good condition.
2. DO NOT let children play with the packaging, for example plastic bags.
3. Check that the voltage and frequency of your appliance match your mains
voltage before plugging in. i.e. 220-240v AC 50Hz
4. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns DO NOT touch the grilles or
heating element during use or attempt to move the heater.
5. Extreme care should be taken whenever the heater is left operating and
unattended.
6. DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner. Return
the heater to an authorised service facility for examination and repair.
7. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical
functions as this may void warranty.
8. Ensure the base is fitted and fully assembled, and the unit is upright on a
flat stable surface before operating.
9. This heater is designed for use on Patios and in Beer gardens &
smoking areas. The unit has been IPX5 Weatherproof approved;
however, to prolong the life of the heater it is strongly recommended that
the heater is stored in a shed or garage during heavy rain. When not in
use always store in a dry area or cover the appliance with the cover
provided.
10. DO NOT run power cord under floor covering, or cover with rugs or
runners. DO NOT hide the power cord in long grass or leave close to an

operating lawnmower. Arrange the cord away from areas where it may
be tripped over.
11. DO NOT insert or allow objects to touch the heating element and never
place anything on the heater safety guard (e.g. towels), as this may
damage the heater and could cause an electrical shock or fire. Never
use your heater to dry washing.
12. If the heating element has stopped glowing it may still be live, please
check that the heat setting indicates the heater is off. Always disconnect
your appliance from the mains before any cleaning or replacing tubes
13. DO NOT use the heater in areas where petrol, paint, or other flammable
substances are stored.
14. Always unplug the heater when not in use. To disconnect from the
power supply, grip the plug and pull from the power socket. Never pull
by the cord.
15. DO NOT direct the heater towards curtains, furniture or other flammable
objects and ensure that they are at least 1.5 metres from the front and 1
metre from the top back and sides (see fig 7).
16. Extreme care should be taken when any heater is used near children
and pets.
17. DO NOT sit the heater on soft surfaces, where openings may become
blocked. DO NOT cover.
18. Never locate the heater where it may fall into a swimming pool or other
water container. Never use in a bathroom or shower room.
19. Do not use this heater in conjunction with a timer device or any other
device, which facilitates unattended switch on.
20. The electrical cord must be fully unwound before use.
21. The front grille is intended to prevent direct access to the heating
elements and must be in place when the heater is on.
BS WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
Wiring Instructions: Should it be necessary to change the plug please
note the wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code: BLUE - NEUTRAL
BROWN - LIVE
GREEN AND YELLOW - EARTH
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The BLUE wire is the NEUTRAL and must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter Nor coloured BLACK.
2. The BROWN wire is the LIVE and must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter Lor coloured RED.
3. The GREEN/YELLOW is the EARTH and must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter Eor or coloured GREEN OR
GREEN/YELLOW.
4. Always ensure that the cord grip is positioned and fastened correctly.
If a 13A (BS 1363) fused plug is used it must be fitted with a 13A (BS 1362)
fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

Please note. The Earth Terminal is marked with the letter Eor Earth Symbol

ASSEMBLY
CAUTION: For safety reasons, carefully assemble the device as set out
below and ensure the heating element, light tubes are properly in place.
All parts should be correctly fitted, then bolted to each other.
Assembly of the Base & Body section
This operation requires NO TOOLS but a pliers & Philips screwdriver
are helpful to tighten fixings securely if you require.

Step1 Connect the 2 part base with nuts/butterflies as per fig1 left side
Step2 Connect the main body with nuts/butterflies as per fig1 right side

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Please Note: When the device is turned on, it will take a 1 minute to
start heating & reach max power.
Your heater should not be used in areas where surface water can rise
above the level of the base as electronic parts are above this point.
1. Assemble the device as described.
2. If outdoors - Plug it into a waterproof outlet. If indoors plug into a
standard UK socket outlet
3. Only switch the unit on when the appliance is on a flat and stable
surface.
4. Power on: - take out all the power cord from back cover of body and
connect power to the power socket. The power indicator light will
then light up. See figure 3 & 4.

IMPORTANT: At the end of their life dispose of the batteries in your
remote control according to Local Authority regulations. Do not
dispose of batteries with your normal household rubbish.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY FEATURES:
- The unit also has a safety tip-over cut-out for additional safety.
Should the device fall over or tilt it will automatically cut the
power.
- The unit has a roller for easy movement, which only works
when the device it tilted to the rear using the handle provided.
MAINTENANCE – TURN IT OFF AND UNPLUG FIRST
• Before cleaning or changing heating tubes turn the heater off, unplug
from the power supply and wait for the unit to cool down.
• To clean the heater use a soft cloth to wipe off any dust.
• If the heater is very dirty use a damp cloth and wipe dry. Do not use any
cleaning detergents, sprays or other chemicals, as they will damage the
unit.
• When the heater is not in use for a long period, clean and place in its
cover and store in a dry place.
• Never use any other type of lamp other than ES Low Energy 40W or
less (DO NOT USE INCANDESCENT LAMPS) simply unscrew the front
opaque glass panel to access the ES 40W CFL and exchange the lamp.
Ensure the moisture seals are put back on when replacing the panel.
WARNING: Do not light cigarettes using this heating element, as it will
damage the heating element rendering your guarantee invalid.
SERVICE & WARRANTY
• Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug, after the unit
malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged.
• For your convenience, record the complete model number and product
name (located on the Product Identification Plate), the date you
purchased the product, and attach your purchase receipt docket as proof
of purchase. To ensure your product is covered by warranty, the
complete faulty product together with your purchase receipt should be
returned to your retailer.
This product has been manufactured to comply with EEC Directives
2006/95/EG and 89/336/EEC.
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with
household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist.
Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.
