Settingupserviceonyournewphoneis quick and easy.This
section walks you through the necessary steps to unlock
your phone, set up your voicemail, establish passwords,
and contact Sprint for assistance with your Sprint service.

GettingStartedWithSprint Service
DeterminingifYour Phoneis AlreadyActivated
If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is probably
activated, unlocked, and ready to use. If you received your
phone in the mail, it probably has been activated; all you need
to do is unlock it.
If your phone is not activated, please call Sprint Customer
Service at 1-888-211-4PCS (4727).
UnlockingYour Phone
To unlock yourphone, followthese easysteps:
1. Press to turn the phone on.
2. Select Unlock (left softkey).
3. Enter your four-digit lock code. (For security purposes,
the code is not visible as you type.)
Tip: Ifyoucan’t recallyourlock code, try usingthe last four digits
ofeither yourSocial Security number or wirelessphone
number, ortry 0000or NATL (6285).If noneof thesework, call
Sprint CustomerService at 1-888-211-4PCS (4727).
Note: Toselectasoftkey,pressthe keydirectlybelow thesoftkeytext
thatisdisplayedat thebottom left andbottom rightof your
phone’sdisplayscreen.Softkeyactions change accordingto
the screen you’re viewingand willnot bedisplayed ifthereis
nocorrespondingaction available.
Setting Up Service

SettingUpYourVoicemail
All unanswered calls to your phone are automatically
transferred to your voicemail, even if your phone is in use or
turned off.Therefore, you will want to set up your voicemail
and personal greeting as soon as your phone is activated.
To set upyourvoicemail:
1. From standby mode, press and hold .
2. Follow the system prompts to:
nCreate your passcode.
nRecord your name announcement.
nRecord your greeting.
nChoose whether to activate One-Touch Message
Access (a feature that lets you access messages
simply by pressing and holding , bypassing the
need for you to enter your passcode).
For more information about using your voicemail, see “Using
Voicemail” on page 181.
Note: Voicemail Passcode
If you areconcernedabout unauthorizedaccess toyour
voicemail account, Sprint recommendsthat you enable your
voicemail passcode (do not activate One-Touch Message
Access).
