3. SPECIFICATION
Model No:..................................................................SD250K
Nett Weight: ................................................................0.98Kg
Temperature Range: ..................................... 120°C to 250°C
4. OPERATION
4.1. Assemble the soldering stand and clamp the work securely.
WARNING. Ensure that the soldering tip rests on a heat-proof surface.
4.2. To use the 30W setting, plug the gun into the mains supply without touching the trigger. The gun will heat up rapidly.
4.3. To use the 100W setting, press the trigger to boost the tip temperature. DO NOT depress the trigger for more than 12 seconds, and
allow to rest for a minimum of 48 seconds before depressing again.
4.4. Wipe off excess solder and allow the gun to cool completely after use before storing in a cool, dry, childproof location.
4.5. USING THE SOLDER SUCKER.
The solder sucker can be used where a joint has to be unsoldered or where excess solder has been deposited and needs to be
reduced.
4.5.1. Prime the sucker by pushing the plunger down until it latches. Bring the soldering iron or gun to the joint and melt the solder. As
soon as the solder is liquid place the tip of the sucker into the solder or as close as possible and press the button on the body of the
sucker.
The plunger will rise by spring action to produce a partial vacuum at the tip. Remove the sucker immediately to avoid being in
contact with the hot tip of the soldering iron/gun.
4.5.2. Empty the excess solder from the body of the sucker by unscrewing the tip and tapping/shaking to dislodge the solder particles.
5. MAINTENANCE
5.1. CHANGING TIPS
After a prolonged period of service the tip may become pitted and need replacing. Wait till the gun is cool and isolate from the mains.
Loosen the cross headed screw from the barrel and remove the old tip (if the tip is stuck, prise out gently with pliers). Replace the tip
and tighten the screw.
5.2. Avoid allowing solder to accumulate where the tip enters the iron as this may make the tip difficult to remove. DO NOT allow solder
deposits to build up on the tip retaining screw as it may prevent a screwdriver fitting into the cross head. Loosen the tip retaining
screw periodically and rotate the tip in the gun to prevent it seizing into the body. Use a proprietary tip cleaner/tinner to keep the tip
clean and tinned correctly
