1. SAFETY
1.1. GENERAL SAFETY
8 DO NOT use the tester to perform a task for which it is not designed.
8 DO NOT allow untrained persons to use the tester.
8 DO NOT use whilst under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating
medication.
9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.
9 Keep work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials.
9 Ensure the work area has adequate lighting.
9 After use, clean equipment and store in a cool, dry, child proof area.
WARNING!Brake uid is ammable - keep away from sources of
ignition, including hot surfaces e.g. exhaust manifold.
1.2. BRAKE FLUID SAFETY
WARNING!Brake uid will damage paintwork. Any spillage should be
ushed with water immediately.
9 Always read and comply with the warnings on the brake fluid container.
9 Wear eye protection and keep skin contact to a minimum. If brake fluid
enters eyes rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
9If swallowed seek medical advice immediately.
9Dispose of waste fluid in accordance with local authority regulations.
2. INTRODUCTION
Comparative electrolytic type tester. Checks moisture content of uid by resistance to electric current. Easily calibrated using new brake uid.
Audible test cycle with three LED read-out. Just insert probe and press button for immediate result. Works on DOT4 and 5.1 specication uids.
Uses 9V battery (not included).

4. PREPARATION
4.1. Battery installation
4.1.1. Open battery compartment at back of tester, g.2 and insert PP3 or equivalent observing correct polarity.
4.2. Calibration
4.2.1. Unfold the test bar.
4.2.2. Clean the two probes on the test bar head (g.3)
4.2.3. Dip the test bar head into a sample of uid drawn from a container which was previously unopened and sealed (g.3). This is
particularly important as this uid will used as the reference against which subsequent samples are compared.
4.2.4. Press and hold the test button and turn the reset screw anticlockwise fully (g.4). All the LED’s should now be unlit.
4.2.5. Turn the reset screw clockwise until the green LED lights. The calibration procedure is now complete.
