The EZX 7 0 is an accesso ry fo r mo bile pho nes or any Bluetooth compliant
device with a “ hands free pro file ” ( HFP) , a “ he adset profile ” ( HSP) o r the
“ advanced audio distrib ution profile ” ( A2 DP) . It is intended fo r wire less
co mmunication via Bluetooth co nnectio n.
It is considered improper use w hen this pro duct is use d fo r any ap plicatio n
no t nam ed in this instructio n m anual.

The EZX 70 Bluetooth headset
The EZX 70 Bluetooth headset is the wireless solution for pho ne calls with
sup e rb s o u nd q ualit y . The EZX 7 0 ’ s lo ng b a tt e ry lif e o f u p t o 8 h o urs m a ke s
it especially suitable for pro fessional applications. The Sennheiser digital
noise and echo cancellation blocks out annoying interference – without
compromising on convenience, such as easy one-hand operation.
Bluetooth
The EZX 70 complies with the Bluetooth 3.0 standard and is co mpatible
with all Bluetooth 1.1, 1.2, 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 devices with a “ hands free pro -
file” ( HFP) , a “ headset pro file” ( HSP) o r the “ advanced audio distribution
pro file” ( A2DP) . The EZX 7 0 provides wireless freedom to give hands-free
convenience with yo ur mobile phone.

Putting the EZX 70 into operation
Charging the headset
A co mplete charg ing cycle take s ab out 1 ho ur and 2 0 m inutes. Befo re
using the headset for the first time, charge the rechargeable battery for
a co mplete charging cycle without interruption.
1Take o ff the headset and switch it o ff ( see page 14 ) .
2Co nnect the sm aller plug o f the charging cab le to the USB so cket o f the
EZX 70.
3Co nnect the USB plug o f the charging cable to the USB socket o f your
co mputer.
If yo u are using the o ptional charging accesso ries*: Co nnect the USB
plug of the charging cable to the po wer supply unit o r to the USB car
charger adapter.
4The rechargeable battery is being charged.

Charging the rechargeable battery using the USB smart charging cable
The shapeab le USB charging cable allo ws yo u to charge the headset so that
it, fo r example, do es no t e ven to uch yo ur desk. Its co mpact size also pre-
vents cab le tang les.
Connecting the headset to a Bluetooth device
The he ad se t co m plie s w ith the Bluetooth 3.0 standard. In o rder that data
can be transmitted wirelessly using Bluetooth techno lo gy, yo u have to
pair yo ur headset with Bluetooth devices that suppo rt the “ hands free
pro file” ( HFP) , the “ he adse t pro file ” ( HSP) o r the “ advanced audio distri-
bution pro file ” ( A2 DP) .
The headset can save the co nnection profiles of up to eight Bluetooth
devices with which it has been paired. After switch-o n, the headset auto -
matically tries to co nnect to the tw o last co nnected Bluetooth devices.
If yo u pair the headset with a ninth Bluetooth device, the saved co nnection
pro file o f the f irst Bluetooth device will be o verwritten. If yo u w ant to re-
establish a co nnection with the first Bluetooth device, you have to pair the
headset again.

The transmitted radio waves o f mo bile phones can impair the o peration of
sensitive and unprotected devices.

Pairing the EZX 70 with a Bluetooth device
The fo llo w ing chapte r d escrib es, b y way o f example of a m o bile pho ne ,
how to pair the EZX 7 0 with a Bluetooth d evice . In case o f d eviation,
pro ceed as de scribed in the instructio n m anual o f yo ur m o bile pho ne .
1Switch the headset o n ( see pag e 1 4 ) . Then ke ep the multi-functio n
butto n pressed until the LED alternately flashes blue and red. The
headset is in pairing mo de.
2Enable the Bluetooth visibility o n yo ur mo b ile pho ne.
3On the mo bile phone, start a search fo r Bluetooth devices. All available
devices in the proximity o f the mo b ile pho ne are displayed.
4From the fo und Bluetooth devices, se lect “ Sennheiser EZX 70 ” to
estab lish a Bluetooth co nnection to the headset. If necessary, enter the
def ault PIN co d e “ 0 0 0 0 ” .
5Once the headset is paired with the mo bile pho ne, the LED turns off.

왘Move the o n/ o ff switch to the po sition ON.
The LED flashes 3 times blue and yo u hear an ascending sequence o f
beeps. When the headset is paired but no t yet connected to the mo bile
pho ne, the LED flashes 3 times blue every 5 seco nds. Once the headset
and the mo bile pho ne are co nnected, the LED turns o ff and the vo ice
prompt “ connected” is announced in the headset.
Switching the headset off
If the headset has not been used fo r mo re than 1 ho ur, it auto matically
switches o ff to co nserve b attery po w er.
왘Move the o n/ o ff switch to the po sition OFF.
The LED flashes 3 times red. You hear a descending sequence of beeps.
If the headset is sw itched o ff and then o n ag ain w ithin 1 0 se co nd s,
there might be no vo ice prom pt because the reset procedure is not
co mplete d.

Retrieving information on the remaining talk time
Yo u can retrieve info rmation o n the rem aining talk time at any time except
when yo u are o n a call or listening to music:

Changing the speaker volume
The adaptive vo lume level feature adjusts the speaker vo lume
auto m atically, e.g . w he n y o u ente r o r leave a no isy e nviro nm ent. Yo u o nly
need to adjust the volume to your preferred setting o nce. To adjust the
vo lume during a call or when listening to music:

Making calls using the headset
Making a call
왘Dial the desired number o n yo ur mobile pho ne.
You hear a beep in the headset.
왘If yo ur mo bile pho ne do es no t auto m atically transfer the call to the
headset, simply press the multi-function butto n o nce to transfer the
call from the mo bile phone to the headset. Alternatively, press a butto n
on your mobile phone (see the instruction manual of your mobile
pho ne) .
Accepting/ rejecting/ ending a call
When your EZX 7 0 is co nnected to a mo bile phone and yo u receive a call,
yo u he ar a ring to ne in the he ad set and the LED flashes blue every
2 seco nds. If the headset battery is low, the LED flashes red instead of b lue.
If you listen to music, the music is sto pped until yo u end the call.
When yo u receive a call and yo ur headset is switched o ff, simply switch
yo ur he ad set o n to acce pt the call.

Managing two calls
