other contaminants, it cannot create a completely sterilized
environment. SHARP does not guarantee its ability to prevent

• The actual number of ions and the effect of inactivation,

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read instructions carefully before using this unit.
WARNING - To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or injury :
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed,
including the following:
• Do not damage or modify the AC adapter and cord. Also, do not use the AC adapter and
cord if it is damaged. (The damaged section could cause short-circuiting and electric
shock leading to fire.)
• Do not remove the AC adapter and cord when your hands are wet. (Otherwise, it may
cause electric shock or injury.)
• Do not connect other appliances to the same socket using extension cord. (Otherwise, it
may cause fire.)
• Do not use the product if the AC adapter is damaged, or the connection to the wall outlet
is loose. (Otherwise, it may cause electric shock and fire.)
• Use only a 220 volt outlet.
• Use the AC adapter designed exclusively for this product, and insert the AC adapter
securely all the way into power socket until it stops.
• When cleaning the unit, stop the operation and pull out the AC adapter from the outlet.
• Periodically remove dust from the AC adapter.
• During thunder storm, stop the operation and pull out the AC adapter from the outlet in
order to avoid the possibility of excess voltage.
• If a defect is generated (burning smell, heat generation, discoloration, deformation etc.),
stop the operation and pull out the AC adapter. (Otherwise, it may cause fire or electric
shock.) Contact the store you purchased this appliance from or Sharp Service Center.
• Do not modify the product. Also, no one other than an authorized service personnel
should take apart or repair the product. (Otherwise, it may lead to fire, electric shock or
injury.) Contact the store you purchased the appliance from or Sharp Service Center.
• Do not insert fingers or foreign object such as pin and wire in power supply input
terminal, air outlet, and air inlet. (Otherwise, it may cause electric shock, injury or
abnormal operation.)
• Do not use the product within baby’s reach.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person

CAUTIONS CONCERNING OPERATION:
• Do not pull on the cord when unplugging the AC adapter. (Otherwise, it may cause fire
or electric shock.)
• Pull out the AC adapter from an outlet when the product is not used (otherwise, it may
cause electric shock, electric leakage, or fire due to insulation deterioration).
• Do not use the product at the following places.
• Humid or dusty place
• Place exposed to oil smoke or steam
• Places where hair spray or chemicals are used such as barber shops or hair salons, or
cleaners. (Otherwise, it may cause electric shock or damage.)
• Do not climb on the main unit or lean over the main unit. (Otherwise, it may cause injury
or damage.)
• Do not swing around the product by holding the handle. (Otherwise, it may cause injury
or damage.)
• Do not use silicone-containing products* near the unit.
The fluororesin or silicone could get stuck inside the unit, preventing it from producing
Plasmacluster ions.
If this happens, remove the dust from the electrode section of the Plasmacluster Ion
Generating Unit. (See E-10)
* Hair care products (split end coatings, hair mousses, hair treatments, etc.), cosmetics,
antiperspirants, antistatic agents, waterproofing sprays, polishes, glass cleaners,
chemicalimpregnated clothes, wax, etc.

Precautions on installation

INSTALLATION GUIDANCE
Be sure to place the product at the stable place.
• Be sure to place the product on a flat surface.
• Operating temperature : 0
°C to 35 °C
• Do not block the air inlet and the air outlet.
• If this Plasmacluster Ion Generator cause interference to radio or television reception,
try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the distance between the product and radio/TV receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
If you use the product for a long time at the same place, the wall, floor, or carpet
around the main unit may become dirty.
• It is recommended to move the installation location of the main unit sometimes or
clean up the surroundings or the surface on which the main unit is installed periodi-
cally. (Laying a mat under the unit is effective to prevent the floor from becoming
dirty.)
• Under factory setting, the Auto Restart Function is set to “OFF”.

How to place
When you put the product on a high place, please use stand.
Sends ions throughout the room to purify
and deodorize air, as well as moisturize
skin.

Every month or more often if necessary
WARNING: When cleaning the unit, be sure to first unplug the power cord.

The filter must be cleaned regularly in order to maintain the ion density.
Filter soiling depends on the usage environment, so clean the filter about once a
month or whenever the filter is clogged, even if the Filter Clean Light has not turned
on.
Pull out the filter at the bottom of the main
unit and remove the dust on the filter by a
vacuum cleaner.
<For Stubborn Dirt>
• Remove and rinse in water.
(Use a soft sponge if the dirt does not come off easily.)

• Do not press the vacuum cleaner strongly against the filter, otherwise the filter could be damaged.
• If using synthetic kitchen detergent, rinse well to remove all traces of the detergent.
Also, be sure to dry the filter in the shade.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Main Unit
Every month or more often if necessary
Wipe with a dry soft cloth.
For stubborn dirt, use water and a mild detergent. And then, wipe with a wet cloth.
Make sure to dry out the main unit.
Plasmacluster Ion Generating Unit (electrode section)
Every 6 months or more often if necessary
Remove the dust attached to the electrode section of the unit with an included unit
cleaning brush or commercially-available cotton applicator.
(About removing the unit, please see
“ Plasmacluster Ion Generating Unit Replacement” on
E-11.)
• Do not touch the electrode section. (Otherwise, it may lead to injury.)
• Do not transform the electrode section. (Otherwise, it may lead to damage.)
• Do not touch the connection terminals. (Otherwise, it may lead to damage.)
• If the taint is hard, water a commercially-available cotton applicator slightly and wipe
off the unit.

If the total operating time passes approximately 17,500 hours (approx. 2 years if the
product is operated 24 hours a day), Unit Replacing Light flashes to notify you of the
replacement time of the unit.
•The unit replacement period does not vary regardless of operation type; "LOW", "HIGH",
"FULL POWER".

HOW TO REPLACE PLASMACLUSTER ION GENERATING UNIT
Before replacement, be sure to turn off the product, unplug the power cord, and
never handle the plug with wet hands.
Remove the Unit Cover.

Pull out the Unit Holder.
Remove the Plasmacluster Ion
Generating Unit.
Replace with a new Plasmacluster
Ion Generating Unit.
Insert the unit holder in the main
unit and attach the unit cover.
Insert the AC Adapter in an outlet and press the Operation
Button. Check the Unit Replacement Light is OFF.

The discharged air has odor. • The Plasmacluster Ion Generator releases a
small trace of ozone which may produce odor.
This is not detrimental to health.

Unplug and contact the store you purchased or

• It takes approx. 2 seconds for power distribution
after the plug is inserted in the outlet.

Other indication
• If you operate the product at “FULL POWER”,
the AC adapter becomes hot. However, it is not
a failure.
• If it is abnormally hot, stop the operation and
pull out the AC adapter from an outlet and
contact the store you purchased the product or
SHARP service centre.
