fortheheaderorfooterofareceipt. Thedatamustmeetthespecificationsdefinedwithinthisdocument
whichwilloutlinetheattributesnecessaryforloadingtheimagedata.
1. Typesof functionssupported:
(1) Sendingpicture file (*.bmpor*.pcx)data to the ECR ................................... Pc to UP-700
(2) Converting ImageLogodata forusewith theER-02FD.exe utility................ at the PC
2. FunctionsSupported:
(1) Changesthe Image LogoforuseontheUP-700oncustomer receipts and reports.
a) Send Logo1 is downloading the image data used for the Receipt Header
b) Send Logo2 is downloading the image data used by the Receipt Footer
(2) Creates an Image Logo data file.
a) Converting Logo1 is performed on image data for the Receipt Header to be used by the
ER02FD.exeutility.
b) Converting Logo2 is performed on image data for the Receipt Footer to be used by the
ER02FD.exeutility.
3. FormatSpecifications:
(1) File format: *.PCX or *.BMP
(2) Size: 360 dots (w) x 130 dots (h)
(3) Color: Monochromeonly (black&white)

documentationassumesthatyouarefamiliarwithgeneralPCandtheMicrosoft®Windowsoperating
systemasitrelatestothesettingsforthedesktop,communicationsports,etc. Pleasereadthis
introductorysectioncarefullyasitwillprovidehelpfulhintsandrecommendationsthatwillmakeyourtime
moreefficientandproducetimesavingresults.
RECOMMENDED SEQUENCE FOR THE UP-700 SETUP
INTRODUCTION
1. Alwaysinstallthe necessary options (i.e. Optional RAM, etc.)priortoprogramming.
2. Startyourprogramming sessions by executing one of the Master Reset operations.
(for detailed information about the Master Reset operations, please refer to the applicable Service Manual)
3. Recommendedorderfor programming;
PleasecompletetheSRV-modeand PGM-mode sections in the order outlined below:
(1) Alwaysbackupyourprogrampriorwhenloading the Logo Image data into an existing
customer'smachine.
(2) Set the applicable SRV parameters (SRV job #912).
(the Logo image data replaces the ECR's "STAMP" image)
(3) Load the image data to be used as the Logo (header or footer)
(4) Performa Program Reset(SRVReset).
(5) BackuptheNEW Program with the Logo Image
(6) Testsystemperformanceand reporting prior to installation.

TheSIO function is used to download the logo image to the UP-700 from thePC. YjrSIOfunctionis
dedicatedtoCOMM-2withconnectionviaanRJ45modularjack.
ThebelowdiagramrepresentsthecablespecificationsrequiredwhenconnectingtheUP-700 to a PC
whenthe Logo Image Data function is used.
1. Specifications:
(1) Conversion Cable: CAT-5, twisted pair , 24 AWG
(2) Connectors: RJ45Modular,D-Sub 9 pin (male type)connector
(3) ExtensionCable: Shielded, twisted pair , 24 AWG
(4) Connectors: D-Sub9 pin (female type) connector
(5) Baud Rates: 115200, 38400, 19200, 9600, 4800, 2400, 1200
2. PinOuts:
TheSIOfunctionisusedtodownloadthelogoimagetotheUP-700fromthePC. TheSIO
functionisdedicatedtoCOMM-2withconnectionviaanRJ45modularjack.
Therecommendedconnectionbetween the UP-700 and a PC for usage oftheLogoutility is via
twocables which are outlined below;

ToperformaProgramReset,theSRVkey(p/n:LKGiM7113RCZZ)mustbeused. Pleasereferto
(fig.2)whenperformingthebelowkeysequence.
(1) InserttheSRVkeyandrotateitcounterclockwisetothe6o'clockpositiontotheSRV'position.
(Please note that the display goes out)
(2) Countfor5seconds.
(3) RotatetheSRVkeyclockwisetotheSRV(7o'clock)position.
(Please note that the display becomes lit and PRG. RESET *** is printed on the journal printer)

2. WhileinExplorerDouble-Clickeachfileanditscontentswillbeextractedwithinthesamefolder.
3. ToinstalltheLOGOutility,locatetheSETUP.exeanddouble-clicktoinitiatetheinstallationprocess.
