•Read and follow the safety instructions before using the Foldaway
Elliptical Strider with Heart Rate Monitor. Failure to read and fol-
low any item in this manual can result in bodily injury.
•Keep this guide in a convenient place and make sure that
everyone who uses the Strider also reads this manual.
1. Before using the Strider, make sure it has been properly
assembled and tightened based on the assembly instructions.
2. If at any time you feel faint, lightheaded or dizzy, stop exer-
cising immediately. You should also stop exercising if you
experience any pain or pressure. Please consult your physi-
cian before beginning your program.
3. Inspect the Strider prior to exercising to ensure that all nuts
and bolts are fully tightened.
4. Use the machine on a flat, level surface.
5. Exercise equipment has moving parts. Please keep children
and pets away from equipment, whether it is in use or not.
6. Follow the recommendations given by your doctor and fitness
professional in developing a training program. Know your
strength and flexibility levels and train within them.

7. Start and finish slowly. Before each workout, warm up for five
minutes. After each workout, cool down for five minutes.
8. Hold onto the main frame when stepping on and off the
Strider.
9. Wear proper clothing and footwear during exercise. Choose
workout gear that allows free movement such as jogging suits,
shorts, etc.
10.Avoid serious injury. Never place any part of your body
between or near any moving parts.
11.Do not operate this or any other exercise equipment if it is
damaged.
12.For optimum operation, periodically lubricate all moving
parts on the Strider.

Parts List

Read and follow the assembly instructions carefully. Remove the
Strider from the carton and place all parts in an area that has
been cleared. Remove all packing materials from the area and
place them back into the carton. Do not dispose of the packing
materials until assembly is complete.
Step 1
Find Stabilizer (3) with Endcaps (14), then attach Stabilizer (3) onto
the Base Frame (2) with Carriage Bolts (9.5 mm x 63.5 mm L) (31),
Acorn Nuts (9.5 mm) (32) and Arc Washers (9.5 mm) (27).

Step 2
Attach the Base Frame (2) onto the Main Frame (1) with Bolt
(9.5 mm x 82.5 mm L) (33), Nylock Nut (9.5 mm) (34) and
Washers (9.5 mm) (28). Lock the Base Frame (2) into position
with Locking Pin (30).
Step 3
Attach the Stabilizer (3), with Wheel Caps (13), onto the Main
Frame (1) with Carriage Bolts (9.5 mm x 63.5 mm L) (31), Acorn
Nuts (9.5 mm) (32) and Arc Washers (9.5 mm) (27).

Step 4
Attach the Front Pedal Arm (9) onto the Left Front Leg (4) with
Bolt (12.7 x 143 mm, 9.5 mm threaded) (40) and Nylock Nut
(9.5 mm) (34). Insert the Pedal Arm (10) into the Front Pedal
Arm (9) and bolt them onto the Left Rear Leg (5) with Bolt (12.7
x 143 mm, 9.5 mm threaded) (40) and Nylock Nut (9.5 mm)
(34). Follow the same instructions to attach the Front Pedal Arm
(9) and Pedal Arm (10) to the Legs (6 and 7).
Step 5
Feed the Hand Pulse Wire (44) on the Left Handlebar (11)
through the hole on the Left Front Leg (4). Attach the Left

Handlebar (11) to the Left Front Leg (4) with Carriage Bolts (8 mm
x 40 mm L) (39), Nylock Nuts (8 mm) (41) and Washers (8 mm)
(37). Follow the same instructions to attach the Right Handlebar
(12) to the Right Front Leg (6).
Step 6
Attach the Abdominal Pad (22) to the Pad Post (8) with Bolts
(8 mm x 35 mm L) (36).
Step 7
Plug the Sensor Wire (19) into the Electronic Meter (15). Slide the
Electronic Meter (15) onto the Bracket of the Main Frame (1).

Connect the two Hand Pulse Wires (44) so you can measure yur
heart rate.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the Sensor Wire (19) and Hand
Pulse Wires (44) when sliding it into the Electronic Meter (15)
Ensure the two Hand Pulse Wires (44) are properly connected
and tightened.
Step 8
To store the Safety Pin (16), insert it into Oval Plug with Hole
(30 x 70 mm) (18) on the top of the Main Frame (1).

1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the monitor and
insert two AAA (or UM-4) batteries into the compartment.
2. Batteries must be inserted in the correct position. Make sure
the battery spring is in contact with the battery.
3. The batteries should last approximately one year during normal
use.
4. If the screen is illegible or only partially legible, remove the
batteries and wait 15 seconds before reinstalling.
5. To reset the values to 0, remove all the batteries.
Battery Replacement for the LCD Screen

Auto on/off & Auto - As long as the machine is in motion, the
LCD screen is on.
Start/Stop - If there is no movement within four minutes, the
screen turns off automatically.
Auto Scan - Press the button until the arrow points to S. The dis-
play will rotate through all five functions - Time, Total Count,
Calories Burned, Steps/Min, and Count every 30 seconds. Each
appears on-screen for six seconds. Note: Auto scan does not
show pulse rate.
Elapsed Time - To count the elapsed time, press the button until
the arrow points to T.

Count - To display the total steps taken since the last time the
unit was reset, press the button until the arrow points to C.
Calorie - To display the number of calories burned, press the
button until the arrow points to CA.
Steps/Minute - To display steps per minute, press the button
until the arrow points to R.
Total Count - Press the button until the arrow points to TC.
The screen shows the total count since the batteries were
installed into the meter. To reset the total-count value to 0,
take out the batteries.
Heart Rate - To display heart rate, press the button until the
arrow points to

. The monitor displays your heart rate in beats
per minute.
Pulse Rate (Hand Pulse System) - Note: To measure pulse rate,
stop exercising. Keep the palms of your hands on the contact
pads, but do not move the handlebars. Monitor shows your cur-
rent heart rate in beats per minute (BPM).
Reset - To reset all functional values to 0, press and hold this
button for more than two seconds.
Functions

The Strider is designed to fold for easy storage. Store it as illus-
trated after your workout.

Remove the Safety Pin (16) from the top of the Main Frame (1).
Swing the Legs (5 and 7) forward to align the holes on the Legs
(5 and 7) with the Main Frame (1). Then, lock the Legs (5 and 7)
and Main Frame (1) together by inserting the Safety Pin (16)
through the holes. (See Fig.1)

Fold both Pedal Arms (10). Pull out the Locking Pin (30) from the
Main Frame (1), then fold the Base Frame (2). (See Fig. 2)

Lock the Base Frame (2) into the folded position by inserting
Locking Pin (30) into the Main Frame (1). (See Fig. 3)
