Operation Manual
Before Use
△This product is a PM4 filter holder with 2.5 L/min aspiration rate. Do not use it for any applications
not indicated in this manual.
△This is precision manufactured product. Handle it very carefully. In particular, performance may
deteriorate significantly if the aspiration port is scratched or otherwise damaged.
△This product is assembled from a large number of parts. Therefore, handle it with particular care.
△[Modifications and Repairs Are Prohibited] Never disassemble or modify this product, as doing
so will void the warranty with Sibata. Doing so may also result in an unforeseen fault or accident.
■Overview
This product is a PM4 filter holder with 2.5 L/min aspiration rate. By installing a suction pump in this
product, at an aspiration rate of 2.5 L/min, dust can be collected with the property PM4 (for removing
50 % of 4 μm particles).

■Measurement Procedure
(1) Measure and record the mass of the PTFE binder filter using a balance.
(2) Immerse the metal collection plate in a neutral cleaning fluid, remove dirt and contamination from
the surface, wash it with water, rinse it with purified water, then immerse it in alcohol and wipe it
with degreased gauze.
(3) Take the grease with a micro spatula as shown in Fig. 2. At this time, sufficiently stir the grease in
the container before use.

●The grease recommended by Sibata (080150-011 and 080150-012) is a mixture of two types.
They can separate during storage, so mix well before use.
(4) Place the grease guide on top of the metal collection plate as shown in Fig. 3, and place the
grease substantially in the center.
(5) Level the surface of the grease using a spreading spatula as shown in Fig. 4.
(6) Gently remove the grease guide from the metal collection plate, then accurately weigh the metal
collection plate. (When not evaluating that the 4 μm dust has been removed by 50 % or more, it is
not necessary to weigh the metal collection plate.)
(7) Set the weighed PTFE binder filter and the metal collection plate in the holder in the order shown
in Fig. 1.
(8) With the holder placed in the suction pump, adjust the aspiration rate to 2.5 L/min and collect dust.
(9) When dust collection is completed, carefully bring back the holder, and weigh the PTFE binder
filter. (When evaluating that the 4 μm dust has been removed by 50 % or more, also weigh the
metal collection plate.)
Grease (sold separately)
In order to prevent re-entrainment of particles from the surface of the metal collection plate on
which particles PM4 (removing 50 % of 4 μm particles) or more were collected, apply grease. The
air that passes the particle size separator has extremely high velocity, and the grease must not be
allowed to flow and disperse as a result of this high flow velocity. Therefore use a high viscosity
grease. Sibata has prepared the recommended grease together with equipment such as a
spreading spatula for application, etc.
