●Commissioning and setup the device prior to mounting.
●To power on the sensor module, connect it to a surface mount powered by
USB type C, PoE, or AC/DC 24 V.

Select data mode
●With the inside (concave surface) facing you ensure that the mode selection switch points to 1 (LoRaWAN).
For configuration of BACnet, see Commissioning.
Preparing data connection
Set up your LoRaWAN gateway router prior to installation and on-boarding if LoRaWAN is used
●Unpack the contents of your surface mount kit and In-wall mount kit. If you plan to use LoRaWAN for data
connectivity, locate the LoRa gateway antenna provided in the surface mount kit and screw it onto the top of
the surface mount.

Mounting location
●Devices should be mounted 3...6 feet from the floor (90 cm to 1.8 m high) and at least 16 feet (5 m) away
from operable windows, air filters, and fresh air diffusers.
●In areas where this is impossible, center your device between windows and place your monitor closer to air
return than air diffusers.
1.1 Drywall mounting
Preparation

–Power drill with 2 mm drill bit

●Check the package to ensure that it includes all inbox items
1. Locate the metal mounting plate provided in the In-wall mount kit. Hold the mounting plate on the wall where
you intend to mount your device and use it as a stencil. With a pencil, mark the location of the four “E” screw

holes and trace along the inside edge of the 43 mm by 55 mm rectangular cut out.
2. Create an incision along the penciled line using your drywall cutting tool. The mount requires 2 inches of
clearance behind the incision to install it.
3. Use a power drill and 2 mm drill bit to create four holes at the marked screw hole locations.
4. Gently hammer the drywall anchors into the holes with your mallet.
5. Line up the mounting plate with your drywall anchors and mount it to the wall using the provided drywall
screws.
6. Place the mounting plate cover over the mounting plate.

1.2 Conduit box mounting
1. Locate the metal mounting plate provided in the In-wall mount kit. Line up the mounting plate with your
conduit box and mount it in place using the provided conduit box screws.
2. Place the mounting plate cover over the mounting plate.
1.3 Surface mounting
1. Plug the USB-C end of your power cord into the port on the back of the surface mount and fit the cord into
the well that extends from the USB-C port to the bottom edge of the surface mount.
2. For LoRaWAN data connectivity, screw the LoRa Gateway Antenna onto the top of the surface mount as
follows.

3. Fold your two pairs of command strips in half so that the Velcro sides lock together and the sticker sides
face outwards. Peel off the tape on one side of each command strip pair.
4. Attach the sticky side of your command strip pairs to the back of the surface mount as follows.

5. Once you have a mounting location, peel the stickers off from the remaining two command strips attached to
the back of your surface mount.
6. Use a level to straighten your surface mount and press firmly into the wall to secure the command strips in
place.
1.4 Connect multi-sensor to power source
Take the multi-sensor backpack from your In-wall mount kit and attach it to the back of the surface mount as
follows.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)
●Run a cat 5e (or greater) Ethernet cable from your PoE switch, through the drywall incision, and into the
Ethernet port (RJ45 connector) on the multi-sensor backpack.
Low-voltage wiring
●To power your device via low-voltage wiring, run electrical wires (16-gauge or smaller) from your low voltage
transformer, through the drywall incision, and into the corresponding terminals on the multi-sensor
backpack.
Note: Consult an electrician before attempting installation if unsure and never touch live wires.

USB Type C wiring
Without in-wall mount, USB Type C can be used to power the entire module.

1.5 Attach surface mount
1. Align the screw holes on your In-wall mount with the four cylindrical mounting plate pegs that extend out
from the wall. Fit your In-wall mount over top so that the multi-sensor backpack disappears behind the wall
and the back of the In-wall mount is flush with the mounting plate cover.
2. Use the mounting plate screws provided in your In-wall mount kit to secure the In-wall mount to the
mounting plate and mounting plate cover.
1.6 Power and secure multi-sensor
In-wall mounting
1. Attach the multi-sensor to In-wall mount. Press and hold the power button on the right side of the device
until LED display lights up. Data Mode selection appears momentarily, and the status light continues to blink
until the device is connected to servers.
2. To lock the multi-sensor into the In-wall mount, use your 2 mm hex screwdriver to screw the security screws
(found in the surface mount kit) into the holes on the right and left side of the In-wall mount, as follows.

Surface mounting
1. Attach the outlet power adapter to the end of the power cord and plug it into the nearest electrical outlet.
2. Click your multi-sensor into the surface mount and press the power button on the right side of the device to
turn it on. The LED light should blink to indicate that the device has power.
