Procedure
CAUTION
Incorrect loop current
Device damage or 󹪝re hazard of the 250 Ω input resistances in the SITRANS MX300 due to
incorrect loop current.
• Maintain the maximum loop current per channel of 35 mA.
1. Install the SITRANS MX300 on a standard mounting rail in accordance with EN 60715 with
35 mm.

1.2 Connecting HART devices to SITRANS MX300
Introduction
SITRANS MX300 always acts as a secondary master in accordance with the HART standard.
Connection und parameter assignment of the SITRANS MX300 channels depends on whether
the HART device is already connected to a HART Master.
Note
Internal or external resistor
You can use an external resistor or the internal resistor of the SITRANS MX300. If you use an
external resistor at a channel, disable the respective DIP switch at the SITRANS MX300
(Page 38).

1. If no HART Master exists for a channel, connect the SITRANS MX300 for this channel in series
to the HART device.

A HART Master is available for Channel 1.

• Connect the SITRANS MX300 in parallel to the HART device.

1.3 Calling the SITRANS CC240 web server
Procedure
1. Make the network settings for your PC.
PC setup (Page 51)
2. Enter the following address in the Google Chrome browser: https:\\192.168.200.1
3. Wait for a few minutes until the system has started up.
The "Connection refused" message means that the system still needs some time to start up.
4. Log on as administrator.
User name: CC240_ADMIN
Password: Siemens1234$
5. Change the password.
6. De󹪝ne a user with password for the OPC UA client.
7. Set the date and time.
8. Con󹪝rm the certi󹪝cates.
9. Click the "Apply Changes" button.
10.Select "Con󹪝guration > Network settings" in the main menu.
11.Select "Port X1P1" "DHCP" for the LAN interface.
The LAN interface X2P1LAN (Page 49) is not used.
12.Click the "Save Changes" button.

13.Click the "Reboot" button.
14.Select "Dashboard" in the main menu after logging in again.
⇒ The connected SITRANS MX300 and HART devices are displayed with diagnostics.

1.4 Establishing a connection to MindSphere
Introduction
You can connect SITRANS CC240 to MindSphere. The MindConnect Library is used for this.
Before establishing a connection to MindSphere
You have a tenant, for example, a MindAccess IoT Value Plan.
You have administrator rights in the MindSphere Asset Manager ("assetmanager (mdsp:core)
admin").
You have downloaded the following import templates and the parameter list for
SITRANS CC240. (Login required)

Generating an onboarding key in MindSphere
1. Call up the SITRANS CC240 web server.

2. Open MindSphere.
3. Call up the Asset Manager.
4. Create an Aspect of the "Dynamic" category.
5. To upload the "CC240_GenericHART_aspect.csv" import template, use the "Import tags"
function under "Add tag".
6. Create a Type.
7. Add the previously created aspect to the type in the "Aspects list".
8. Create an asset with the previously created type.
⇒ You can 󹪝nd the aspects assigned to the type in the asset in the Aspects list.
9. Create an additional asset that represents SITRANS CC240. In MindSphere, this
SITRANS CC240 asset corresponds to an Agent.
– Type: MindConnectLib core.mclib
– Security pro󹪝le: SHARED_SECRET
Do not generate an onboarding key in this step yet. Generate the onboarding key only after
you have linked the tags.
10.Click "Back to con󹪝guration".
11.Under the header "Connectivity", navigate to the MindConnect Lib plugin.
12.Activate editing mode and use the "Import con󹪝guration" function for each connected HART
device. (CC240_GenericHART_datamapping.csv)
13.Click "Unique_ID" for the respective HART device and change the name to the actual
"Unique_ID" of the HART device.
You can 󹪝nd the "Unique_ID" on the SITRANS CC240 web server "Dashboard > Data Logging
| Cloud Connectivity".
14.Link each data point to the tag from the asset by selecting the option "Link tag" in the "Data
point connection" tab.
15.Generate an onboarding key. (Page 57)
Note: After each change in MindSphere, generate the onboarding key again and update the
onboarding key in the SITRANS CC240 web server.
16.Copy the onboarding key.

Pasting the onboarding key into the SITRANS CC240 web server
1. Select the "Data Logging | Cloud Connectivity" main menu on the SITRANS CC240 web server.
2. Click the "Door key" ① symbol in the table.
3. Select "MindConnect Lib" in the list ②.
4. Paste the onboarding key copied from MindSphere into the "MindSphere onboarding
con󹪝guration" ③ 󹪝eld.

5. Click the "Save" ④ button.

6. Activate the connection via the slider ⑤ to the right.
7. Click the "Save Changes" ⑥ button.

Result
In MindSphere, you can now also use the "Agent Diagnostic" to check whether the connection
is set up. (Page 56)

1.5 Establishing a connection to the OPC UA client
Before establishing a connection to the OPC UA client
• You have installed an OPC UA client, for example: UAExpert installed
The OPC UA connection must have the following properties:
–Certi󹪝cate management
– Security policy Basic256Sha256
– Message security settings: Sign & Encrypt
– Authentication: User name and password
• You have created a user for the OPC UA client on the SITRANS CC240 web server.
When calling the web server (Page 52) for the 󹪝rst time, you are prompted to create a user
for the OPC UA client.
• You know the IP address and port of the SITRANS CC240.
SITRANS CC240 web server: "OPC UA Server > OPC UA Overview > Endpoint URL"
The OPC port number is 4840. This means when using the prescribed IP address, the address
of the OPC UA server is: opc.tcp://192.168.200.1:4840
Procedure
1. Open the OPC UA client.
2. Enter the IP address and the port of the SITRANS CC240.
Default IP address: 192.168.200.1
Port: 4840
3. Select the Basic256Sha256 security policy.
4. Select the message security settings: Sign & Encrypt
5. Log on with the user information that you have assigned in the SITRANS CC240 web server.

6. Select a permitted timeout of 60 s.
7. Connect the OPC UA client to the SITRANS CC240 web server.
8. Check and con󹪝rm the certi󹪝cate used in the OPC UA client.
9. Call up the SITRANS CC240 web server.

10.Select "OPC UA Server > Certi󹪝cate Management" from the main menu.
11.Refresh the page.
12.Verify and con󹪝rm the OPC UA client certi󹪝cate on the SITRANS CC240 web server.

2.1 Purpose of this documentation
These instructions contain all information required to commission and use the device. Read the
instructions carefully prior to installation and commissioning. In order to use the device
correctly, 󹪝rst review its principle of operation.
The instructions are aimed at persons mechanically installing the device, connecting it
electronically, con󹪝guring the parameters and commissioning it, as well as service and
maintenance engineers.
