1. USING THE MANUAL
Transla on of the original instruc ons .This manual has been wri en by the Manufacturer and is an integral
part of the device’s documenta on.
It provides the user with useful informa on so that the Air4 Home device can be used safely.
User manual
All device users must read this manual carefully. This informa on is essen al for the proper use and mainte-
nance of the device.
The manual must be carefully stored for the en re life cycle of the device, including the disposal stage. Store
the manual in a dry place; somewhere where it is always at the user’s fi nger ps.
2. GENERAL WARNINGS
The device has been designed in accordance with the principles of the CE European Direc ves.
The materials used for its construc on are not dangerous and render the device compliant with the direc ves.
All of the device’s components are safe in its design features.

4. DEVICE DESCRIPTION
The Air4 Home device is an electronic device that allows a remote-controlled automa on (such as a gate or
garage) to be remotely operated from a smartphone .
To start using Air4 Home, download the “Air4 Home” app for free from the Android Play Store™ or the Apple
Store™, and follow the instruc ons to copy your remote controls.

6. TYPES OF MANAGED REMOTE CONTROLS
THE LIST OF COMPATIBLE REMOTE ONTROLS IS AVAILABLE ON THE “WWW.SILCA.BIZ” WEBSITE.
QUARTZ and 128 bit remote controls ARE NOT run.
Fixed code
A remote control that always transmits the same code.
It does not need to be recorded on the gate/garage receiver.
Rolling code with a secret code
A remote control that varies the transmi ed code and has a secret duplica on code that can be obtained by
simultaneously pressing two keys or a hidden key. The copy must be made near the receiver of the gate or
garage.
Automatically-recording rolling code
A remote control that varies the transmi ed code.
It needs to be recorded on the gate/garage receiver. The “Air4 Home” automa cally records the code on the
receiver.
The copying procedure must be performed near the gate/garage receiver.
Rolling code that needs to be manually recorded
A remote control that varies the transmi ed code.
It needs to be recorded on the gate/garage receiver. The code is manually recorded on the receiver by
following the instruc ons displayed on the “Air4 Home” app.
The copying procedure must be performed near the gate/garage receiver.

7. FEATURES
Air4 Home can control up to 4 diff erent remote-controlled automa ons.
Air4 Home can be used simultaneously by 21 people / smartphones (including 1 administrator) in the basic
version and by 105 people / smartphones (including 5 administrators) in the PRO version.
In the event that, once the maximum number of users / smartphones has been reached, it is necessary to add
others it is necessary to delete one or more already registered users / smartphones fi rst.
Air4 Home can replace all fi xed code remote controls and the main rolling code remotes in the following
frequency bands 433.0 to 868.0 MHz, using the following frequency modula ons AM and FM.
TECHNICAL DATA
Power supply
The device is powered by 2 x 1.5 V C-type alkaline ba eries (R14). To replace the ba eries, the Air4 Home
must be opened by unscrewing the 4 screws on the back of the device(Fig./Abb2).
Air4 Home can be powered externally, as described in chapter 13.
Air4 Home keeps all stored data including authorized users and recorded access even in the absence of power.
App
The “Air4 Home” app can be downloaded for free from the Android Play Store™ or Apple Store™. It is compa-
 ble with the following systems:
- The iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 7 ,8 and X with iOS 10 or higher.
- Android smartphones with an Android OS of 4.4 or higher.
- Bluetooth LE 4.0 or higher.
The Air4 Home app can control mul ple devices at the same  me.
Distance and operation
The maximum distance between the Air4 Home and an automa on to be controlled, varies according to the
type of remote control used. The distance is typically between 20 and 30 metres. The maximum distance
between the Air4 Home and a smartphone varies according to the smartphone model used, but it is typically
around 5-15 metres.
Environmental conditions
The device is weather-resistant and is therefore, not aff ected by rain, snow or sunlight. It is IP66-cer fi ed.

8. PROCEDURE
INITIAL INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Open the device, insert the ba eries the correct way round and close the device by  ghtening the screws
on the back. ( Fig. /Abb.1-2)
2. To start using Air4 Home, download the “Air4 Home” app for free from the Android Play Store™ or Apple
Store™, and follow the instruc ons to copy your remote controls.
COPYING PROCEDURE
1. Make sure the remote control ba eries are fully charged.
2. Use Easy Scan Plus to ensure the remote control is compa ble with Air4 Home or consult the list of com-
pa ble remote controls on the website www.silca.biz or by consul ng the list available through the app.
3. Start the downloaded App by selec ng the Air4 Home device and use the remote control COPYING
PROCEDURE.
4. The App will ask you to press the remote control key.
5. It is important to keep the right distance between the remote control and Air4 Home device (advisable
between 2 cm and 5 cm).
6. It is important that the original remote control is in the right posi on (Fig./Abb.10).
7. Start the downloaded App by selec ng the Air4 Home device and use the remote control COPYING
PROCEDURE.
ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
8. MOUNTING TO THE WALL: Fix the bracket to the wall via the screws and wall plugs, and secure the device
in the bracket using the screw and nut. ( Fig./Abb.4-5 )
9. MOUNTING TO A POLE: Secure the device in the bracket using the screw and nut, insert the clamps into
the bracket, and a ach it to the pole. ( Fig./Abb. 4-5-6)
9. INSERTING BATTERIES
Please dispose of used ba eries in accordance with the local regula ons, and separately from household
waste. The device requires 2 x 1.5 V C-type alkaline ba eries (R14); these are pre-inserted in the device at the
 me of purchase. Make sure that only new ba eries are used, every  me that the ba eries are replaced. We
recommend using alkaline ba eries for a longer service life. The Air4 Home device has a rated voltage of 3.3
V and a power output of 0.3 W.
To replace the ba eries, proceed as follows (Fig./Abb.1):
1. Turn the device upside down, unscrew the 4 screws with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the ba ery
cover. (Fig./Abb.2)
2. Insert the new ba eries the right way around, so that the posi ve (+) and nega ve (-) ends are in the right
place, as indicated on the labels affi xed to the ba ery compartment. (Fig./Abb.1)
Only use and replace the old ba eries with ba eries that are a suitable size and type (alkaline, zinc-carbon
or zinc chloride).
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a risk of explosion IF WRONG OR DAMAGED BATTERIES
ARE USED (e.g. if there is oxidation, liquid leaking or deformation).

10. ADMINISTRATOR PIN
When the device is fi rst switched on or reset (see the chapter 11), the device will prompt the user to choose
an 8-digit PIN via the app. The user can enter the PIN of their choice and use this PIN to access the Air4 Home
administrator func ons.
The PIN must therefore be safely stored by the owner of the Air4 Home, as it may be required if for
example, the user changes the smartphone that had previously been used to log in as an administra-
tor. The Air4 Home app provides the user with the option to securely save the PIN on the Silca Server,
by simply providing a recovery email address.
In the event that the PIN is no longer available or recoverable, the user must reset the device; this will erase
all the defi ned se ngs, such as the saved remote controls and authorised users.
11. DEVICE RESET
ATTENTION: The device reset allows the user to reset the Air4 Home to its factory se ngs, which in turn
deletes all the data.
PROCEDURE:
- Access the ba ery compartment by loosening the two screws on the internal shell (Fig./Abb.7)
- Hold down the Reset key (Fig./Abb.3) for approximately 10 seconds.
- Release the key only when the LED starts fl ashing more rapidly.
- Wait a few minutes for the device to complete the Reset opera on.
- The opera on will be terminated only when the LED will start fl ashing regularly (1 fl ash every 2 seconds).
12. UPDATING THE DEVICE
Air4 Home can be upgraded to a more recent fi rmware version using the Easy Scan Plus so ware (Air4 pro-
gramming so ware), which is available from the www.silca.biz website, and an adapter that is sold separately
.
13. EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY
WARNING : THIS OPERATION MAKES SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES TO THE DEVICE AND MUST
ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED TECHNICAL PERSONNEL.
WARNING (TRIANGLE): The external power supply is an alterna ve to ba eries, and there-
fore the ba eries must be removed.
The device can be powered by a power supply capable of supplying 5VDC and a minimum of 500mA.
A normal Smatphone charger has all the necessary features.
Required tools (not supplied with the device):
- Fairlead.
- External 5VDC power supply.
- Drill or other tool suitable for drilling.

PROCEDURE
1. Open the device to access the ba ery compartment and remove the ba eries.
2. Use a drill to carefully drill the back of the device; make sure to use a bit with a suitable diameter for the
chosen cable gland . (Fig./Abb.8)
3. Carefully drill the cable gland with the power cable.
4. Carefully remove any plas c shavings from the device . (Fig./Abb.9)
5. Remove the circuit board’s protec ve cover by unscrewing the two screws. (Fig./Abb.7)
6. Change the posi on of the jumper as shown in the fi gure. (Fig./Abb.12)
7. Connect the power cable to the board’s connector as per the indicated polarity.(Fig./Abb.13)
8. Reposi on and secure the circuit board’s protec ve cover and the device’s bo om shell. WARNING: do
NOT reinsert the ba eries.
14. ADVICE SHOULD THE FOLLOWING OCCUR
The Air4 Home won’t detect the remote control.
Nothing happens when the remote control bu on is pressed and a er 30 seconds, the app displays an error
screen.
Possible causes:
- The remote control uses an unsupported frequency (e.g. it is a quartz remote control).
- The remote control is very powerful and must be kept further away from the Air4 Home.
- The remote control’s ba eries are dying and it must be kept closer to the Air4 Home or the ba eries must
be replaced.
The Air4 Home won’t copy the remote control.
The app immediately displays an error screen when the remote control bu on is pressed.
Possible causes:
- The remote control is very powerful and must be kept further away from the Air4 Home.
The gate or garage will not open.
The copying procedure was completed without errors, but when you get to the fi nal test screen, the gate or
garage won’t open.
Possible causes:
- The remote control is not a compa ble model.
- The remote control has not been copied within 10 metres of the gate/garage receiver .
- If the remote control type is an “automa cally-recording rolling code,” the receiver’s automa c remote
control recording func on is disabled (or not supported). Consult the receiver manual and follow the in-
struc ons regarding copying a new remote control.
- If the remote control type is a “rolling code with a secret code,” and is a “FAAC” or “GENIUS” model, the
remote is a “SLAVE” model, instead of a “MASTER” model. “SLAVE” remote controls cannot be copied and
it’s therefore necessary to obtain the “MASTER”.
- To iden fy the remote control type, press the remote control bu on that opens the gate or garage, and
check what kind of fl ash is emi ed from the remote’s LED: 1. If it fl ashes briefl y before becoming steadily lit,
it is a MASTER. 2. If it immediately becomes steadily lit, it is a SLAVE remote control and cannot be copied.
- If the radio control is of type V2, there is a guided procedure inside the APP to perform the copy with
iden cal serial.
- At the beginning of the copy procedure (1st SCREEN) press the three dots ( ) in the upper right corner
and follow the instruc ons.

15. DISPOSAL
INFORMATION FOR USERS OF PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT
From “Actua on of Direc ve 2012/19/EU regarding Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)”
The symbol of a crossed waste bin found on equipment or its packing indicates that at the end of the product’s
useful life it must be collected separately from other waste so that it can be properly treated and recycled .
In par cular, separate collec on of this professional equipment when no longer in use is organised and
managed:
a. directly by the user when the equipment was placed on the market before 31 December 2010 and
the user personally decides to eliminate it without replacing it with new equivalent equipment
designed for the same use ;
b. by the manufacturer, that is to say the subject which was the fi rst to introduce and market new
equipment that replaces previous equipment, when the user decides to eliminate equipment
placed on the market before 31 December 2010 at the end of its useful life and replace it with an
equivalent product designed for the same use. In this la er case the user may ask the manufacturer
to collect the exis ng equipment;
c. by the manufacturer, that is to say the subject which was the fi rst to introduce and market new
equipment that replaces previous equipment, if it was placed on the market a er 31 December
2010 ;
With reference to portable ba eries/accumulators, when such products are no longer in use the user shall
take them to suitable authorised waste treatment facili es.
Suitable separate collec on for the purpose of forwarding discarded equipment and ba eries/accumulators
for recycling, treatment or disposal in an environmentally friendly way helps to avoid possible nega ve eff ects
on the environment and human health and encourages re-use and/or recycling of the materials making up
the equipment.
To remove ba eries/accumulators, consult the manufacturer’s specifi c instruc ons: (see relevant chapter in
the users’ manual).
The sanc ons currently provided for by law shall apply to users who dispose of equipment, ba eries and
accumulators in unauthorised ways .

Codifica fissa
Il radiocomando che trasme e sempre lo stesso codice.
Non richiede di essere registrato sulla ricevente del cancello o del garage.
Rolling code con codice segreto
Radiocomando che varia il codice trasmesso e che dispone di un codice segreto di duplicazione o enibile con
la pressione contemporanea di due tas o di un tasto nascosto. La copia deve essere eff e uata vicino alla
ricevente del cancello o garage.
Rolling code con registrazione automatica
Radiocomando che varia il codice trasmesso.
Richiede di essere registrato sulla ricevente del cancello o garage. La registrazione sulla ricevente viene ges ta
automa camente da “Air4 Home”.

7. CARATTERISTICHE
Air4 Home può controllare fi no a 4 diverse automazioni radiocomandate.
Air4 Home può essere u lizzato contemporaneamente da 21 persone/smartphone (di cui 1 amministratore)
nella versione base e da 105 persone/smartphone (di cui 5 amministratori) nella versione PRO.
Nel caso in cui, raggiunto il numero massimo di uten /smartphone, fosse necessario aggiungerne altri è ne-
cessario cancellare prima uno o più uten /smartphone già registra .
Air4 Home è in grado di sos tuire tu i radiocomandi a codifi ca fi ssa e le principali codifi che rolling-code,
nelle bande di frequenza da 433.0 a 868.0 MHz, u lizzando le modulazioni AM e FM.

Alimentazione
Il disposi vo è alimentato con 2 ba erie alcaline di  po C da 1.5V (mezza torcia).Per sos tuire le ba erie è ne-
cessario aprire Air4 Home svitando le 4 vi poste sul retro del disposi vo (Fig./Abb.2). Air4 Home può essere
eventualmente alimentato esternamente, secondo quanto descri o nel cap. 13.
Air4 Home conserva tu i da memorizza inclusi gli uten autorizza e gli accessi registra anche in assenza
di alimentazione.
APP
L’ App Air4 Home è gratuita ed è scaricabile da Android Play Store™ o dall’ Apple Store™ . E’ compa bile con
i seguen sistemi:
- Smartphone iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6Plus,7,8 e X con iOS 10 o superiore.
- Smartphone Android con sistema 4.4 o superiore
- Bluetooth LE 4.0 o superiore.
L’ App può controllare più disposi vi Air4 Home contemporaneamente.
Distanza e funzionamento
La distanza massima tra Air4 Home ed una automazione da controllare varia in base alla  pologia di radioco-
mando u lizzato. Tipicamente tale distanza è compresa tra 20 e 30 metri. La distanza massima tra Air4 Home
e uno smartphone varia in base al modello di smartphone u lizzato e  picamente è circa 5-15 metri.
Condizioni ambientali
Il disposi vo è resistente ad agen atmosferici, non teme pioggia, neve ed esposizioni ai raggi solari.
E’ cer fi cato IP66.
