Before the First Use
• Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
• Wipe the baking plate 1with a moist cloth.
• Place the base 4on a heat resistant and level
surface.
• Position the baking plate 1on the base 4so
that it sits well and is stable.
• Connect the plug 2to a mains power socket.
The control lamp 8glows.
Note:
If you set the thermostat 7at "0" the green control
lamp "Ready" 9glows constantly. In this way you
can check that the green control lamp "Ready" 9
is functioning. The appliance is not heated up in this
position.
• Adjust the thermostat 7to MAX and allow the
appliance to heat up for approx. 10 minutes.
The red and green control lamps 8 9 glow.
Note:
On the first usage, the generation of light smoke and
a slight smell can occur, this is due to production re-
sidues. This is completely normal and is not dangerous.
Provide for sufficient ventilation, for example, open a
window.
• Place the thermostat 7back to “0” and remove
the plug 2from the mains power socket. The
control lamps 8 9 extinguish.
• Allow the appliance to cool down and once
again wipe the baking plate 1with a moist
cloth.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Baking crêpes
1. Insert the power plug 2into a wall socket.
The control lamp 8glows.
2. Place the thermostat 7at the desired heating
level. The higher the temperature level, the darker
the crêpes. Wait until the green control lamp
"Ready" 9glows. This indicates that the appli-
ance is heated up.
3. Place a scoop full of pastry onto the baking
plate 1.
Note:
You can determine the browning of the crêpe with
the help of the thermostat 7or with the baking
time.
Note:
To determine the correct volume of pastry, put as
much pastry onto the baking plate 1as is required
to cover it to about 2/3 of its area. Make certain
that the pastry does not run over the edge of the
baking plate 1surface. As required, reduce or in-
crease the volume of pastry for the next crêpe.
4. Briefly dip the pastry spreader 6in water.
5. Using the pastry spreader 6, evenly spread
the pastry over the baking plate 1:
Place the pastry spreader 6without pressure
onto the pastry and then spread it in a circle
from the center of the baking plate 1to the
edge. The pastry should only be spread thinly
over the baking plate 1.
Note:
After every use, dip the pastry spreader 6in water.
This allows the pastry to be better spread.
6. After about 45 seconds (depending on the
desired degree of browning), turn the pastry
with the help of the crêpe turner 5.
