Multi-Tip
The Multi-Tip®bin-tipper’s tipping action makes it one of
the safest, most efficient, and easiest to use systems in the
world.
A Multi-Tip lifts bins straight up then rolls them forward
around the lip of the skip or hopper being emptied into.
Standard features include:
A small ‘footprint’ yet excellent stability.
150kg (330lbs) weight capacity.
Standard tipping heights of 1200mm (4’) and 1600mm (5’4”)
No need to clamp standard drums and bins –simply place
on the cradle and press the ‘Raise’ button.
Easily modified to suit a wide range of bin sizes & shapes.
Multi-Tip bin-tippers have a powder-coated main frame
and zinc-plated cradle and guards, can be used indoors or
outdoors and are virtually maintenance-free.
They are also available in stainless steel for critical
hygiene areas.
Multi-Tip bin-tippers are highly versatile and can be
used in almost any application from emptying rubbish bins
into skips to pouring food ingredients into hoppers or mixers.
All standard models
Battery, 3-phase, or 1-phase power
Simpro Handling Equipment Ltd certifies that the Multi-Tip
bin-tipping machine complies with European Standards.

Multi-Tip:
Machine Weight (without bins):
MT1200, all models: 149 –153kg (depending on power source)
MT1600, all models: 159 –163kg (depending on power source
If the machine is delivered lying down on a pallet, it should be lifted
upright using a sling or chain through the lifting eye at the top of the
mast. NEVER lift using the control handle!
If the cradle is in the fully lowered position it may be stood upright
with 2 persons. Warning: Parts such as the cradle can slide or drop
when it is stood up, so take care to keep fingers clear.
Once the machine is standing up it may be easily moved on its
wheels. The Multi-Tip cradle should always be just off the ground
when moved around, and care must be taken when moving on sloping
ground, or close to drop-offs such as truck docks.
If the Multi-Tip has to be lain down for transport or maintenance,
ensure the battery is removed or well retained first.

Multi-Tip:
A Hazard and Risk Assessment must be undertaken before
the machine is used for the first time, taking into account all
relevant factors such as the area it will be used, the skill and
training of operators, the proximity of other persons, frequency of
use, etc.
All appropriate steps must be taken to eliminate, isolate, or
minimise hazards to the operator and to all other persons on site.
These steps may include some or all of the following:
Training of operators
Testing and recording that operators are ‘trained’
Implementing Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring
they are followed
Posting additional signage, floor marking, or other warnings
as deemed appropriate
The Multi-Tip has been designed to be as safe as possible
without restricting the ease-of-use and versatility of the machine.
As with all powered industrial equipment, some hazards will be
present despite all the safety measures implemented by the
manufacturer.
It is the responsibility of the owner and the operators to identify
remaining hazards and to put in place and follow procedures to
ensure the safety of all persons in the vicinity of the machine.

Multi-Tip
Only trained and authorized operators should be permitted to use
the machine.
Remove the key from the machine whenever it is not in use.
Operators must read and obey the instructions displayed on the
machine.
All persons other than the operator must keep well clear while the
machine is in use.
The need for the operator to use both hands is part of the safety
system of a Multi-Tip. Any attempt to bypass the ‘safety’ button is
dangerous and may result in harm.
Do not put feet under the side guards.
If emptying bins with potentially dangerous product (e.g. glass,
metal), ensure the operator uses PPE
Do not empty bins if over-filled
If regularly emptying potentially dangerous product, have an
operator guard installed (contact your agent for details).
Ensure power leads are in good condition; replace the lead if the
insulation is damaged.
Do not connect plugs and sockets if they are damp
Ensure the supply socket is fitted with a residual current device.
Never operate on uneven or sloping ground (more than 1:12).
Never use a Multi-Tip on the edge of a truck dock.
Never use a Multi-Tip to pour liquid from closed-top drums.

(Mains-powered machines) Before connecting the Multi-Tip to a
mains supply ensure that the voltage and frequency of the supply
corresponds with the values on the rating plate. If in doubt consult a
qualified electrician.
The electrical safety of this machine can only be guaranteed when
continuity is complete between the machine and an effective earthing
system which complies with local and national regulations. The
manufacturer cannot be held liable for the consequences of an
inadequate earthing system (e.g. electric shock)
(Mains-powered machines) Do not use an extension lead to
connect to the mains electricity supply.
The standard batteries supplied have a life expectancy of 1 - 3 years
depending on the amount of use and the frequency of charging.
Frequent charging gives the best life and overall performance.
The battery is sealed and requires no maintenance.
Multi-Tip bin-tippers are fitted with a 12-volt battery and an automatic
battery charger. As a rule of thumb a full charge is sufficient to empty
up to 5 tonnes of product, but this does depend on the tipping height
and age of the battery.
The battery status LED turns from green to red when there is
approximately 40% charge remaining, then starts flashing when the
charge drops to approximately 20%. Maximum battery life is obtained
with frequent charging and no harm whatever will result from
recharging every night.
To recharge the battery, simply plug the charging lead into the socket
on the side of the main box, and into a standard 110v or 240v outlet. A
full recharge takes around 3 hours.

Multi-Tip bin-tippers are designed to give years of service with
minimal maintenance.
Caution! - if the Multi-Tip is found to be in need of repair or in any
way in unsafe condition, the matter must be reported immediately to
the designated authority and the machine must not be operated until it
has been restored to safe operating condition.
Installation and repairs should only be carried out by suitably
qualified and competent persons to ensure safety. Repairs and other
work by unqualified persons could result in harm to persons or damage
to the machine, for which the manufacturer will not be held liable.
