1.5 Symbols in the Document

2 Safety
2.1 Intended Use
The SunnyBoy is a transformerless PV inverter with 2 MPP trackers, which convert the direct current
of the PV array into grid-compliant alternating current and feeds it into the utility grid.
The product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The product must only be operated with PV modules and cables that have been recommended and
sold by the distributor. Do not connect any energy sources other than PV modules to the product.
The product is not equipped with an integrated transformer and therefore has no galvanic isolation.
The product must not be operated with PV modules whose outputs are grounded. This can cause
the product to be destroyed. The product may be operated with PV modules whose frame is
grounded.
PV modules with a high capacity to ground may only be used if their coupling capacity does not
exceed 3.4μF.
All components must remain within their permitted operating ranges and their installation
requirements at all times.
The product is exclusively approved for the Japanese market and must only be used in Japan.
Use SMA products only in accordance with the information provided in the enclosed
documentation and with the locally applicable laws, regulations, standards and directives. Any
other application may cause personal injury or property damage.
Alterations to the SMA products, e.g., changes or modifications, are only permitted with the express
written permission of SMA Solar Technology AG. Unauthorized alterations will void guarantee and
warranty claims and in most cases terminate the operating license. SMA Solar Technology AG
shall not be held liable for any damage caused by such changes.
Any use of the product other than that described in the Intended Use section does not qualify as the
intended use.
The enclosed documentation is an integral part of this product. Keep the documentation in a
convenient, dry place for future reference and observe all instructions contained therein.
This document does not replace and is not intended to replace any local, state, provincial, federal

2.2 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Keep the manual for future reference.
This section contains safety information that must be observed at all times when working.
The product has been designed and tested in accordance with international safety requirements. As
with all electrical or electronical devices, there are residual risks despite careful construction. To
prevent personal injury and property damage and to ensure long-term operation of the product,
read this section carefully and observe all safety information at all times.
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock when live components or DC cables are
touched
When exposed to light, the PV modules generate high DC voltage which is present in the DC
cables. Touching live DC cables results in death or lethal injuries due to electric shock.
• Do not touch non-insulated parts or cables.
• Disconnect the product from voltage sources and make sure it cannot be reconnected
before working on the device.
• Do not disconnect the DC connectors under load.
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment for all work on the product.
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock when live components are touched on
opening the product
High voltages are present in the live parts and cables inside the product during operation.
Touching live parts and cables results in death or lethal injuries due to electric shock.
• Do not open the product.
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock when touching live system components in
case of a ground fault
If a ground fault occurs, parts of the system may still be live. Touching live parts and cables
results in death or lethal injuries due to electric shock.
• Disconnect the product from voltage sources and make sure it cannot be reconnected
before working on the device.
• Touch the cables of the PV array on the insulation only.
• Do not touch any parts of the substructure or frame of the PV array.
• Do not connect PV strings with ground faults to the inverter.
• Ensure that no voltage is present and wait five minutes before touching any parts of the PV
system or the product.

DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock in case of overvoltages and if surge
protection is missing
Overvoltages (e.g. in the event of a flash of lightning) can be further conducted into the building
and to other connected devices in the same network via the network cables or other data cables
if there is no surge protection. Touching live parts and cables results in death or lethal injuries due
to electric shock.
• Ensure that all devices in the same network are integrated in the existing overvoltage
protection.
• When laying the network cable outdoors, ensure that there is suitable surge protection at
the network cable transition from the product outdoors to the network inside the building.
• The Ethernet interface of the product is classified as "TNV-1" and offers protection against
overvoltages of up to 1.5kV.
WARNING
Danger to life due to fire or explosion
In rare cases, an explosive gas mixture can be generated inside the product under fault
conditions. In this state, switching operations can cause a fire inside the product or explosion.
Death or lethal injuries due to hot or flying debris can result.
• In the event of a fault, do not perform any direct actions on the product.
• Ensure that unauthorized persons have no access to the product.
• Disconnect the AC circuit breaker, or keep it disconnected in case it has already tripped,
and secure it against reconnection.
• Only perform work on the product (e.g., troubleshooting, repair work) when wearing
personal protective equipment for handling of hazardous substances (e.g., safety gloves,
eye and face protection, respiratory protection).
WARNING
Risk of injury due to toxic substances, gases and dusts.
In rare cases, damages to electronic components can result in the formation of toxic substances,
gases or dusts inside the product. Touching toxic substances and inhaling toxic gases and dusts
can cause skin irritation, burns or poisoning, trouble breathing and nausea.
• Only perform work on the product (e.g., troubleshooting, repair work) when wearing
personal protective equipment for handling of hazardous substances (e.g., safety gloves,
eye and face protection, respiratory protection).
• Ensure that unauthorized persons have no access to the product.

WARNING
Danger to life due to electric shock from destruction of the measuring device
due to overvoltage
Overvoltage can damage a measuring device and result in voltage being present in the
enclosure of the measuring device. Touching the live enclosure of the measuring device results in
death or lethal injuries due to electric shock.
• Only use measuring devices with a DC input voltage range of 600 V or higher.
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to weight of product
Injuries may result if the product is lifted incorrectly or dropped while being transported or
mounted.
• Transport and lift the product carefully. Take the weight of the product into account.
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment for all work on the product.
NOTICE
High costs due to inappropriate Internet tariff
Depending on use, the data volume of the product transferred via the Internet may vary in size.
The data volume depends, for example, on the number of devices in the system, the frequency of
device updates, the frequency of data transfer to SunnyPortal or the use of FTP push. High costs
for the Internet connection can be the result.
• SMA Solar Technology AG recommends using an Internet flat rate.
NOTICE
Damage to the product due to cleaning agents
The use of cleaning agents may cause damage to the product and its components.
• Clean the product and all its components only with a cloth moistened with clear water.

2 安全性
2.1 使用目的
SunnyBoyはトランスレス方式の太陽光発電用パワーコンディショナで、2基のMPP追
従機能を備え、太陽電池アレイから送られてくる直流電流を系統に適合する交流電
流に変換し、一般の電力系統に供給します。
当製品は屋内および屋外での使用に適しています。
当製品の運転には、契約販売店が推奨し販売する太陽電池モジュールとケーブル以
外は使用しないでください。太陽電池モジュール以外の電源を製品に接続しないで
ください。
本製品は変圧器を内蔵していないため、ガルバニック絶縁がされていません。本製
品を出力が接地されている太陽光発電モジュールで運転しないでください。製品を
破壊するおそれがあります。本製品はフレームが接地されている太陽光発電モジ
ュールで運転できます。
対地静電容量の大きな太陽電池モジュールは、結合容量が3.4μF以下である場合に限
り使用できます。
すべての部材について、常に仕様一覧にある環境条件の範囲および取り付けの要件
を必ず守ってください。
本製品は日本国内のみで使用が許可されています。国外で使用することはできませ
ん。
本SMA製品は同梱の説明書、および設置場所で適用される法律、法規制、規格、指
令に必ず従った方法で使用してください。記載の指示に従わずに使用すると、怪我
や物的損傷を招くおそれがあります。
SMA製品にどのような変更を加える場合も、必ず、事前にSMA Solar Technology AGの

通電部品またはDCケーブルとの接触による感電死の危険
光に当てられている間、太陽電池モジュールはDCケーブルに流れる非常に高いDC
電圧を作り出します。DCケーブルに触れると、感電により致死事故や重傷を招く
おそれがあります。
• 絶縁処理されていない部品やケーブルには触れないでください。
• 製品の電源を落とし、装置での作業前に誤って再接続されないようにしてく
ださい。
• 負荷がかかっている状態でDCコネクタの接続を取り外さないでください。
• 作業時には、必ず、適切な個人用保護具を着用してください。

地絡が生じた際、システムの部品にはまだ電圧がかかっていることがあります。
通電部品や通電しているケーブルに触れると、感電により致死事故や重傷を招く
おそれがあります。
• 製品の電源を落とし、装置での作業前に誤って再接続されないようにしてく
ださい。
• 太陽電池アレイのケーブルの絶縁部以外には触れないでください。
• 太陽電池アレイの土台やフレームに触れないでください。
• 地絡が発生している太陽電池ストリングをパワーコンディショナに接続しな
いでください。
• 電圧がかかっていないことを確認したうえで、必ず5分以上待ってから太陽光
発電システムまたは製品の部品に触れるようにしてください。
危険
過電圧保護がされていない場合、過電圧発生時に感電死する危険あり
（例えば雷などが原因で起こる）過電圧は、過電圧保護がなされていない場合
は、建物内の同じネットワークに接続されている他の機器に、ネットワークケー
ブルまたはデータケーブル経由で伝導する可能性があります。通電部品や通電し
ているケーブルに触れると、感電により致死事故や重傷を招くおそれがありま
す。
• 同一ネットワーク上の全ての機器は、設置されている過電圧保護に結合され
ている事を確認してください。
• ネットワークケーブルを屋外に敷設する場合は、屋外にある製品から屋内の
ネットワークへのネットワークケーブルの推移点において、適切な過電圧保
護を行うようにしてください。
• 製品のイーサネットインターフェースは「TNV-1」に分類され、最大1.5kVの
過電圧に対する保護を行います。

警告
火災または爆発による致死事故の危険
不具合状態にあると、稀に、製品内に爆発性をもつ混合ガスが生成されることが
あります。この状態でスイッチを運転に切り替えると、製品内で火災を引き起こ
したり、爆発を引き起こしたりするおそれがあります。飛散するまたは高熱の破
片等が原因で死亡または致死事故を招くおそれがあります。
• エラーが発生した場合には、製品に直接何もアクションを行わないようにし
てください。
• 認められた関係者以外による製品の取扱いを禁止します。
• ACブレーカの接続を解除するか、すでにトリップしている場合は接続を解除
したままにして、再接続されないようにしてください。
• 有害物質を取り扱う際は必ず個人用保護具（安全グローブ、安全ゴーグル、
顔面保護具、呼吸用保護具など）を着用して、製品への作業（トラブルシ
ューティング、修理作業など）を行ってください。

有毒物質、ガス、埃などによる怪我のおそれがあります。
稀に、電子部品へのダメージにより製品内に有毒物質やガス、埃などが形成され
ることがあります。有毒物質への接触や有毒ガス・埃などの吸引により、肌の炎
症や火傷、中毒、呼吸困難や吐き気といった症状を引き起こすおそれがありま
す。
• 有害物質を取り扱う際は必ず個人用保護具（安全グローブ、安全ゴーグル、
顔面保護具、呼吸用保護具など）を着用して、製品への作業（トラブルシ
ューティング、修理作業など）を行ってください。
• 認められた関係者以外による製品の取扱いを禁止します。
警告
電圧計が破損していると過電圧により感電死する危険あり
過電圧により電圧計が破損し、その結果、電圧計内部に電圧が残ることがありま
す。電圧計の通電部品に触れると、感電により致死事故や重傷を招くおそれがあ
ります。
• DC入力電圧が600 V以上の電圧計を使用してください。
注意
製品の重量による危険
製品の運送時や取付け時に、誤った方法で持ち上げたり落としたりすると、怪我
をするおそれがあります。
• 運送の際には、製品を慎重に持ち上げてください。製品の重量を考慮してく
ださい。
• 作業時には、必ず、適切な個人用保護具を着用してください。

インターネット料金プランが適切ではない場合に接続料金が高額になる可
能性
製品の使い方によって異なりますが、インターネットを介して送信されるデータ
量はサイズで異なります。送信されるデータの量は、システムの機器の台数、機
器の更新頻度、SunnyPortal へのデータの転送頻度、FTP プッシュ機能の使用など、
さまざまな要因に左右されます。インターネットへの接続により、高額料金が請
求される可能性があります。
• SMA Solar Technology AG では、定額制インターネット契約のご利用をお勧めし
ます。
