SMC8748M and SMC8724M are feature-rich
10/100/1000BASE-T Stackable managed switches with
optional 10G. This tri-speed gigabit backbone switch is
designed to handle heavy traffic workgroups or power
users, capable of reaching up to 156Gbps with a
non-blocking switching architecture. High density and
1RU high, this switch is ideal for enterprise workgroups or
backbone installation.

members, resulting bandwidth savings--reduce IP multicast
traffic and increase LAN performance
Can group links between switches to provide higher
bandwidth of up to 16Gbps
Currently supports RADIUS, IEEE802.1x, SSH, SSL,TACACS+,
ACL, with future upgrade to SNMPv3
Provides backup power in case of power failure
