Care and Cleaning
•Rinse the water bottle with clean water
after each use.
•The water bottle should not be cleaned in
the dishwasher.
•The water temperature shall not be higher
than +40° C (+120° F). Use mild detergent
only.
•Clean the water bottle carefully and
periodically.
•If you do not intend to use the water bottle
any time soon, leave the water bottle open,
letting the inside dry out completely.
To clean the carbonating unit, wipe with a damp
cloth. Do not immerse the carbonating unit in water.
Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaners, since
this could damage the surface.
Make sure to wash Fizz Infuser after each use
under running water. The Fizz Infuser allows you
to carbonate non-water beverages because it can
both slowly release pressure and can be easily
cleaned. This is especially important if foam came
out of the valve during use.

10
Care and Cleaning
WARNING!!!
Damaged water bottles can fail during carbonation.
Hand wash with soap and warm water. Never place
the water bottle in dishwasher. Never use brushes,
abrasives, or chemical cleaners. Replace water
bottle if it is scratched, deformed or beyond the
expiration date.
Tips for best results
Use the coldest water possible.

Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
No Carbonation
•The CO2 cylinder has not been tightly installed. Tighten by
hand. If not, the carbonation button will not activate the CO2
cylinder to release CO2.
•Check if the CO2 cylinder is empty. Use a brand new CO2
cylinder.
•Fill the water bottle to the MAX Fill Level.
•CO2 cylinder is too cold. Wait until CO2 cylinder reaches room
temperature.
•Water is too warm. Use very cold water 0.5°-5.5° C (33°-42°
F).
Slight Carbonation
•CO2 did not mix well with water. Allow for 10 seconds after
CO2 was released into the water to complete mixing.
•CO2 cylinder is close to empty. Use a brand new CO2
cylinder.
•The CO2 cylinder is too cold. Wait until the CO2 cylinder
reaches room temperature.
•The water is too warm. The colder the water temperature the
higher the carbon dioxide concentration. Use very cold water
0.5°-5.5° C (33°-42° F).
•Press on the carbonation button for a longer period of time.
Water overflow from the water bottle
during carbonation
•There is too much water in the bottle. Do not fill water bottle
over the suggested water level line.
During the carbonation process small
ice particles are visible
•This is normal when you carbonize with very cold water. The
ice particles will disappear soon again.
It's difficult to remove the water bottle
from the unit after carbonating
•The excess CO2 has not been released. Lift the pressure-
release tab on the Fizz Infuser and wait until all the excess
CO2 has been released. Always push the blue fast release
button to empty the pressure.
Foam rises too quickly while
carbonating or releasing pressure
•Use shorter carbonation bursts. Every beverage will foam
differently. If the foam is coming out when you are releasing
pressure through the slow release valve, next time you
carbonate that beverage: 1) Pour less beverage to leave more
room for the foam to rise up; 2) Use shorter bursts; 3) Wait
longer between each carbonation press. This is a machine
that allows you to use your own imagination to design your
own sparkling beverages and learn to make beverages to your
liking.

Important Safeguards
This appliance is intended for countertop use only.
1. The SodaMagic 'Smart' is designed for making carbonated water. This device is not intended to be
used for carbonating other liquids such as fruit juice, beer, wine or other formulated beverages.
2. Please check the machine unit and the accessories such as the PET water bottles before each use.
If the machine or water bottle are damaged or deformed, please do not use until the defect has been
taken care of.
3. DO NOT store the water bottle, Fizz Infuser or CO2 cylinder in a freezer.
4. DO NOT store the water bottle, Fizz Infuser or CO2 cylinder near or in a stove / oven or other heat
source, such as a heated car. Also avoid strong direct sunlight.
5. If the CO2 cylinder is colder or warmer than room temperature, it must be gradually brought up to
room temperature before use. DO NOT place it in the freezer or on a heat source to accelerate the
process.
6. Inspect that the CO2 cylinder and water bottle are firmly attached before each use.
7. Check the expiration date on the water bottle. Do not use an out-dated bottle.
8. Never transport a unit with a full water bottle attached.
9. DO NOT make any modifications or repairs to the unit and accessories, maintenance work can only
be done by our authorized service personnel.
10. Only use the SodaMagic approved accessories, such as the water bottles and CO2 cylinders.
11. WARNING! Food Safety Hazard: Always use only food & beverage grade CO2.
12. Be aware of the foaming rate of the beverage you are carbonating. If the beverage starts generating
a lot of foam slow down your carbonation or pressure release rate and wait for the foam to settle.
13. DO NOT move the Fizz Infuser while the bottle contents are still pressurized. Always press the blue
button to finalize the pressure release process before removing the Fizz Infuser.
14. Always place the unit on a level, stable and water-resistant surface.

passed.
21. WARNING: Explosion Hazard. Always store CO2 cylinders in a cool, dry place, away from any type
of heat exposure. Exposing to heat can cause the cylinder pressure to build up and release CO2
gas unexpectedly. Do not touch the cylinder if CO2 is being released; wait until all CO2 is
discharged and the cylinder has come to room temperature.
22. WARNING: Cold-burn Hazard. Discharging CO2 gas can cause skin to freeze.
23. The water bottle storage temperature range is MAX: +40°C (+120°F), MIN: +0.5°C (+34°F). Never
store outside this range.
24. Use the unit to carbonate pulp free drinks only.
