1 Introduction
For a safe and damage free transport of SOLARWATT solar panels please follow the
instructions of this manual. For transport damage caused by neglecting the described
packaging rules the sender will be charged.
The packaging material described in this manual, can be obtained from the SOLARWATT sales
department. A reuse of distributed packaging material is possible, presuming the material
shows no damage.
Regarding the packaging of the panels please follow the instructions given in sections 2.1-2.3.
NOTE: Please clearly label the package with a) pictograms, b) a cardboard pyramid stuck on
top to prevent stacking and c) return papers (essential). Information regarding the pictograms,
and the cardboard pyramid are listed below in section 2.
2 Parts List
Palette
Please use the original SOLARWATT palette
adapted to the panel size. Only the original
palette offers sufficient stability and load capacity
for a damage free transport of the panels (e.g.
micro cracking of solar cells).
Corrugated Cardboard Underlayment
Place a corrugated cardboard underlayment flush
to the palette size to avoid any scratching of the
surface of the panel (framing and glass surface),
due to the roughness of the palette material. The
corrugated cardboard should consist of at least 2
layers.
The panel typ can be extracted from
the label on the modul backside.

25x25mm, fixation of pad by adhesive bonding
Edge Protector (exemplarily shown in figure)
8 pieces per pack place on topmost underneath
of the straps.

conditions edge protector may not overlap the
areal dimensions of the palette.
Tension Belts and Straps:
Straps
4 pieces in (2 in each horizontal direction)
Material requirements: Strength: app. 400kg,
Strain 15%, Elastic Recovery 95%, for strap
material with inferior properties an increase of
applied straps (6 instead of 4) may be carried out
to reach the required overall strength
Approved material: Brühninghaus polyester strap
12,5x0,7; Kempack PET strap 12,5x0,7;15,5x07
and stronger, Kempack KEMAtex, width16mm

number of wrappings can be reduced by
increasing the foil thickness

3 Packaging Instruction
3.1 Step by Step Instructions for Packing Piece Assembly
Check palette regarding obvious damage
before usage
Place the palette on a plane and stable
surface, consider necessary space for
handling and final transport
Place the corrugated cardboard underlay
centered on the palette. (flush with the palette)
Place the solar panel with the front side
(sunny side) towards the palette on the
cardboard under-lay, the module has to be
positioned centrically on the palette allowing
an even circumferential overlap of the palette
edge
Put 6 foam pads on the panel frame in accor-
dance to scheme shown in the figure (2 pc. at
the each long side, 1 pc. at each short side)
Position 4 „QuickStaxx“ stacking devises at
each panel edge.
Continue stacking further panels on top of

Starting point for foil: 5 to 7cm below palette
surface
Turn around wrapping - highest point: 10cm
above edge of the topmost panel
Please bond the cover foil to the package
using an adhesive tape (circumferential
application of the tape is recommended,
usage of visually highlighted tape with
