New to Sonos?
Set up at least one Sonos player (PLAY:1, PLAY:3, PLAY:5, CONNECT [ZP90], or CONNECT:AMP [ZP120]) before adding the DOCK
to your Sonos system. For help with this step, refer to the instructions packaged with your Sonos components.
• If a software update is available, be sure to update your Sonos system before adding the SONOS DOCK.
Adding to an existing Sonos system?
The SONOS DOCK allows you to play music stored on your docked iPod or iPhone in any or every room of your home, all
perfectly synchronized.
1. Attach the power adapter and plug in the SONOS DOCK.
2. Choose one of the following options:
• Using any handheld Sonos controller: Select Add a Sonos Component from the Settings menu.

Autoplay Mode
Autoplay mode provides a seamless transition between your portable and home audio experience. You can walk in the door,
place your device in the SONOS DOCK, and the music that’s playing on your iPod or iPhone automatically starts playing over
Sonos. You will be prompted to select an Autoplay room during setup. You can change the autoplay room anytime (see
"Changing DOCK Settings" on page 3.)
While your device is seated in the DOCK in autoplay mode, you can select music directly from the device. You can switch to
accessory mode at any time to make music selections and control playback using a Sonos controller.
• To switch to accessory mode, simply start browsing the music on your iPhone or iPod using any Sonos controller —
playback control automatically shifts to your Sonos system.
• To return to autoplay mode, simply undock and redock your device.
Selecting Music
You can select music directly from your device when it is seated in the DOCK (autoplay mode), or you can use any Sonos
controller to make music selections and control playback (accessory mode).
Note: When your iPhone is seated in the DOCK in Autoplay mode, the ringtone for incoming
calls will play through your Sonos system. If you do not want to hear ringtones or other
system sounds associated with your device, simply set the iPhone ringer switch (located on
the left side of your phone) to silent.
