Brake
A small, metal wire in the lower-right of
the rell that holds the medication strip
in place.
Bluetooth Devices
Special devices that connect to
spencer wirelessly and allow spencer to
collect health data (e.g., weight, blood
pressure).
Dispenser
Located beneath the device’s touch
screen, this is the slot where your
medication packs are delivered.
Dispense Reminders
• Alert tone with adjustable volume;
sound intensifies for escalated
dispense.
• Flashing light that increases in
frequency for escalated dispense.
• Change in screen color from black
(normal) to amber (escalated).
• Change in screen color to red
(missed dose).
Dose
All medications taken at a given
dispense time.
Lid
Door-like panel at the top of the spencer
device that opens and closes for
inserting, securing, and removing the
medication rell.
Lock
Option that allows you to lock the
system using a code. You choose a lock
code and can change it at any time.
Menu
List of options on the spencer device
touch screen. Examples are Readings
and Medications.
Meds on the Go®
Option that lets you dispense
medications for specic dates and times
when you are going to be away from
your spencer device.
My Medications
Option to view the name, strength,
picture, and description for each type of
medication in your spencer rell.
My Schedule
Option to view the dispense schedule,
picture, and description of your
medication(s).
Pack
Plastic package containing your
medications and identifying information
that is produced by a strip packaging
system.
Rells Containing Med Packs
Medication cartridge (rell) spooled
specically for you by your pharmacist.
Secure Data Storage1
Records of your spencer device
transactions and communications with
your pharmacy. These records are
protected, secure, and only visible to
designated individuals.
spencerAssist®
The mobile application for iOS or
Android that tracks adherence and
health readings (e.g., weight, blood
pressure, glucose, blood oxygen, heart
rate) from your spencer device.
spencerCare®
The web application that collects
medication adherence and health
information from your spencer device
and allows your professional care team
to communicate with you.
spencerConnect®
Technology in your spencer device that
allows it to connect to Bluetooth devices
and send data to spencerCare.
Touch Screen
Front display panel that enables you
to interact with spencer by touching it
with your nger. (Touch screens are
also used on cell phones and computer
tablets.)
USB Port
Slot for charging compatible devices.
Video Chat
Option to view upcoming video
appointments and a link to start
the video chat at the time of an
appointment.
Video Tutorials
Short videos explaining how to use
your spencer device. Touch Tools,
then Video Tutorials to display a list of
videos.
