STEINBAUER Additional electronic, please consider the following advices.
Do not use the STEINBAUER Additional electronic before you have read and understood
the “Important information”.
The installation conrms that the buyer has read, understood and accepted the“Important
information”.
Please read all instructions
carefully before installation.
Disconnect the battery before installation.
Do not install the STEINBAUER Additional electroni-
con on running ignition. Wait after stopping the igni-
tion, because the ECU needs a few minutes to stop
completely. For some vehicles you have to pull out the
ignition key and close the driver´s door.
To avoid any damages and therefore caused malfunc-
tions, x the STEINBAUER wiring loom with cable faste-
ners.
Take care that the STEINBAUER wiring loom does not
touch or rub on metal parts.
In case of malfunctions caused by not xed cables or
by inappropriate installation the STEINBAUER manu-
facturer’s guarantee and liability for consequential
damage of STEINBAUER Tuning Technologies Austria
GmbH expires.
We grant a three years’ guarantee starting at dispatch,
but only in case of appropriate installation and usage.
If you have any questions when installing, please do
not hesitate to contact STEINBAUER Tuning Technolo-
gies Austria or your nearest sales partner.
As manufacturer of the STEINBAUER Additional elect-
ronic we are obliged to inform you, that any changes
made to a vehicle licensed for public transport, must
be notied to the appropriate inspection authority and
inserted to the car documents.
The legal restrictions are dierent in each country,
therefore please check with appropriate authority.

Plugging in, simple method
Put the wire of the ECU into the notch of the
cable clip and close it.
HINT! Press together with a pair of pliers!
Then connect the cable clip to the flat
connector.
Soldering, perfect method
As the copper wires may corrode due to humi-
dity, it would be better to solder the wires.

How it works
The STEINBAUER Fuel saver modies the injection system by ne tuning the duration of the injectors. The fuel
injection and engine speed are recorded and recalculated to optimize performance.

Search for the pin, follow the wire and connect it to the wire of the STEINBAUER Fuel saver.

Colour abbreviations
gr = grey li = purple rt = red
sw = black ws = white
Connect the wiring loom of the ECU´s connector to
the wiring loom of the STEINBAUER Fuel saver.
You have to connect the wire to the ECU according
to the vehicle depending pin assignment.
The ECU is situated behind the seat (at passenger´s
side).
Connect white wire (Reference signal wire) on the air
pressure sensor. (see“Connection for reference signal”)
Connect the red wire on positive terminal and black
wire on chassis ground.
Stow the STEINBAUER Fuel saver near the ECU.
Driver´s side and passenger´s
side may vary.

Connection via “Electronic pedal sensor”, alternative method
Solder the reference signal wire on the wire of the electronic
pedal sensor.
The colour of the electronic pedal sensor wire may vary,
therefore the right wire has to be measured.
Start ignition and measure voltage to nd the correct wire.

Connection via “Air pressure sensor”, preferred method
The installation with this method is very simple and fast.
The colour of the air pressure sensor wire may vary, therefore
the right wire has to be measured.
Start ignition and measure voltage to find the correct wire.

Solder wire
Wires are exposed to humidity, therefore it´s better to solder the wires. (not to clip)
NOTE! You have to insulate the soldering well, so copper wires can not corrode.
Measurement
Measure the voltage with a multimeter on the plug-in
connection.
Connection via “Air pressure sensor”:
The signal has a voltage of 0,4-1 volt and increases at some
volt by activating the throttle.
Other singals at the sensor stay the same.
Connection via „Electronic pedal sensor“:
The signal has a voltage of 0,4-1 volt (at null position of the
throttle) and increases at full throttle (3- 4,9 volt).
Connection for reference signal
The connection of a reference signal is absolutely necessary to optimise performance.
