INDICATIONS FOR USE
The SurgiGraphic™ 6000 Image Guided Surgical Table
is primarily designed for minimally invasive
endovascular, vascular, cardiovascular, pain man-
agement, and other procedures requiring intra-opera-
tive fluoroscopic C-arm imaging.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual contains important information on proper
use and maintenance of this surgical table. All opera-
tors and department heads are urged to carefully
review and become familiar with the warnings, cau-
tions, and instructions contained herein. This table is
specifically designed for minimally invasive proce-
dures requiring intra-operative fluoroscopic C-arm
imaging as specified in this manual.

rized equipment which affects its operation will

SERVICE INFORMATION
A thorough preventive maintenance program is es-
sential to safe and proper table operation. You are
encouraged to contact STERIS concerning our annual
maintenance agreements. Under terms of this agree-
ment, preventive maintenance, adjustments, and re-
placement of worn parts are done on a scheduled
basis to assure optimal table performance and help
avoid untimely or costly production schedule inter-
ruptions. STERIS maintains a nationwide staff of
well-equipped, factory-trained technicians to provide
these services, as well as expert repair services. Con-

Section 1: Safety Precautions and Labels
The following Safety Precautions must be observed when operating or servicing the SurgiGraphic™ 6000 Image
Guided Surgical Table. WARNING indicates the potential for personal injury, and CAUTION indicates the
potential for damage to equipment. These Safety Precautions are repeated, where applicable, throughout the
manual. It is important to review these precautions before operating the table.
Strictly following these Safety Precautions enhances your ability to safely and effectively utilize the unit and
allows the customer to avoid improper maintenance methods which could damage the unit or render it unsafe.
It is important to understand that these precautions are not exhaustive; customers are encouraged to develop their
own safety policies and procedures to enhance and compliment these Safety Precautions.
WARNING – PINCHING HAZARD:
Pinch points are created during tabletop articulation. Carefully review photographs in Figures 2-1 through 2-8.
To avoid serious injury, keep limbs, fingers, and other body areas clear of all pinch points when positioning the
table.
Keep hands and feet clear of the unloading platform and the table base when unloading the table. Serious personal
injury could result.
WARNING – TIPPING HAZARD:
Do not place patient on the SurgiGraphic Original or 6000CE table unless floor locks are engaged.
Do not release floor locks while patient is on the SurgiGraphic Original or 6000CE table.
Do not use this table for patients, plus accessories, exceeding the 500-lb (227-kg) limit.
Do not use the Carbon Fiber Extension Accessory with patients exceeding the 400-lb (181-kg) limit.
WARNING – EXPLOSION HAZARD:
Table must not be used in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
WARNING – TRIPPING HAZARD:
For SurgiGraphic Original and 6000CE tables, route the power cord to the receptacle in a position so that it will not
be tripped over by personnel in the area.
WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD:
The tabletop must be fully retracted to the rear of the table base before performing CPR on a patient.
Failure to keep the patient properly secured with the patient safety straps at all times could result in death or serious
injury to the patient and the operating room staff.
The floor locks must be engaged at all times when a patient is on the SurgiGraphic Original or 6000CE table. Failure
to lock the floor locks before placing a patient on the table or disengaging the floor locks while a patient is on the
table could result in the table rolling unexpectedly during the procedure.
TheSurgiGraphic Original or 6000CEtable is not intended for patienttransport.Transporting a patient onthetable
could result in injury to both the patient and the operating room staff.

WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD (Cont'd):
The LEVEL function should be used with caution. Determine in advance whether the automatic return of the tabletop
to a level position might be detrimental to patient safety. Do not use the LEVEL function if any possible dangers appear
to exist.
Section 4.1, Steps 1-7 in Operating the Table, must be executed before patient transfer to the table. Execution of
Steps 1-7 with the patient on the table could result in death or serious injury to both the patient and the operating
room staff.
Like the Foot Control, the Palm Handle Control is activated IMMEDIATELY upon power activation. (The table is
plugged in and power switch is turned on.) The control REMAINS ACTIVATED until the power switch is turned
off.
Unlike the Hand Control, the Foot Control does NOT deactivate after 10 seconds of nonuse. The Foot Control is
activated IMMEDIATELY upon power activation. (The table is plugged in and the power switch is turned on.) The
Foot Control REMAINS ACTIVATED until the power switch is turned off.
Healthcare professionals must ensure patients are positioned and monitored so as to prevent compromising
respiration, nerve pathways, or circulation.
When installing any table accessory, check for correct attachment and tighten securely (if appropriate). Do not use
a worn or damaged accessory. Check installation before using any accessory.
Unanticipated table movement could cause patient injury. Patient must be secured to the table in accordance with
recommended positioning practices.
The SurgiGraphic Original or 6000CE table weighs approximately 1000 lb (454 kg). Two people are required to
move this table.
WARNING – INSTABILITY HAZARD:
Possible patient or user injury, as well as table or accessory failure, may result from using STERIS table accessories
for other than their stated purpose - or from using accessories manufactured and sold by other companies on
STERIS tables.
WARNING – PINCHING AND TIPPING HAZARD:
Patient injury may result if the operator of this table is not completely familiar with the controls for patient
positioning and table operation.
WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD:
The table has multiple internal jumpers for setting various AC input voltages. Improper setting of jumpers may
damage table electrical system and/or cause improper operation of the table. Use of any power supply other than
that which the table is set, could result in serious personal injury or table damage.
Use of this table in the presence of flammable anesthetics could result in serious personal injury or table damage.
Placinga patient whose weight, plus tableaccessories,exceedsthe 500-lb (227-kg) weight limit couldresultindeath
or serious injury to the patient and the operating room staff, and serious equipment damage.
Failure to perform periodic inspections of the table could result in serious personal injury or table damage.
Repairs and adjustments to this equipment must be made only by STERIS or STERIS-trained service personnel.
Nonroutine maintenance performed by inexperienced, unqualified personnel or installation of unauthorized parts
could cause personal injury, result in improper equipment performance, invalidate the warranty, or result in costly
damage. Contact STERIS regarding service options.

WARNING – PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD (Cont'd):
Regularly scheduled preventive maintenance is required for safe and reliable operation of this equipment. Contact
STERIS to schedule preventive maintenance.
Do not immerse any part of Foot Control, Hand Control, or Palm Control in liquids; this could cause unanticipated
table movement, leading to patient injury. Always cover Foot Control with a plastic bag before using.
Removal and replacement of the tabletop requires two people.
WARNING – INFECTION HAZARD:
To protect against aerosols being reflected from potentially contaminated surfaces, wear rubber or plastic gloves,
masks, and eye protection, and follow OSHA blood-borne pathogens standards when cleaning.

Failure to keep all personnel and equipment clear of the table before actuating any inertia-driven or power-driven
movement could result in table damage.
When moving the SurgiGraphic Original or 6000CE table to or from point of use, roll it carefully at moderate speed
and only over smooth floors. Maximum floor clearance is 1/4" (6 mm). Avoid door jambs, elevator jambs, and
obstructions greater than 1/4" (6 mm). If necessary, lift uncrated table (all tables) over obstructions, onto trucks,
etc. Lift table evenly and only by the table base. DO NOT transport articles (including accessories) on top of the
table, and DO NOT use a forklift to move the uncrated table.
Hang the Hand Control from side rail of the table when not in use, to avoid possible damage to the control.
When cleaning/disinfecting table, do not use phenolics, which may cause patient skin burns if inadequately rinsed
off, or alcohol, which does not have sufficient cleaning/disinfection properties.
When cleaning/disinfecting table, thoroughly read the cleaning fluid directions for use and follow all directions and
cautions as shown.
Do not spray cleaning fluid into electric receptacles and avoid spraying directly on emergency backup buttons or
into clearance space. Spray or drippage may settle onto electric circuits inside table causing corrosion and loss of
function.
Cleaning procedures requiring articulation of the table should be performed only by persons familiar with table
operation.
After performing cleaning procedures, ensure pads and tops are completely dry before reinstalling.
Do not exceed a value of 300 when adjusting K value of Floor Lock Pressure or damage to table motor may result.
For SurgiGraphic 6000CE/FB Tables, ensure the Estop buttons cable four-pin connector is unplugged before
removing cover completely.

Section 2: General Information
2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Operated by a 16-bit PLC (Programmable Logic Con-
troller), the SurgiGraphic™ 6000 Image Guided Surgical
Table features lateral tilt, trendelenburg/reverse
trendelenburg, and adjustable height functions.
The SurgiGraphic Table features a manually controlled
four-way float tabletop. The "float" range is 16" (406 mm)
longitudinal and 8.0" (203 mm) lateral (when tabletop is
paralleltotheearthplane). However, this table enables the
operator to have 16" (406 mm) longitudinal float while
tabletop is in a tilt position and 8.0" (203 mm) lateral float
when table is in trendelenburg/reverse trendelenburg
positions.
The table accepts positioning commands from four
sources:
1. A customizable Hand Control (which includes ON,
LOCK, UNLOCK, HOME or LEVEL, TREND, RE-
VERSE TREND, HEIGHT UP, HEIGHT DN,
TILT L, TILT R, EARTH PLANE, and four Pro-
grammable Memory buttons). Refer to Figure 4-5 of
this document for control feature locations.
2. A surgeon's Palm Handle Control (which includes
Four-Way Manual Float control with LOCKOUT
switch, TREND, REVERSE TREND, HEIGHT UP,
HEIGHT DOWN, TILT R, TILT L, and HOME or
LEVEL functions). Refer to Figure 4-6 of this docu-
ment for control feature locations.
3. A limited Emergency Backup Buttons (which in-
cludes LEVEL, Battery Backup [6000CE/6000FB] and
Floor Lock functions). Refer to Figure 2-10 or 2-11 of
this section of the document for control feature loca-
tions.
4. Anoptional physician-controlled Foot Control (which
includes Trendelenburg Tilts, Lateral Tilts, and Height
functions).

and other body areas clear of all pinch points
when positioning the table.
