Introduction
This users guide is applied to the 4 port 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch.
The 4 port 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch is designed or easy installation
and high per ormance in an environment where tra ic on the network and the number o
users increase continuously. Small businesses and corporate branch o ices can now take
ull advantage o 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet per ormance and preserve existing desktop
investment with no changes required to PCs, NICs, cabling, drivers, or PC con igurations.

Network Connection
The ollowing igures illustrate the connections o 4 port 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet
Desktop Switch.
PC to Switch
A PC can be connected to the 4 port 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch via
a 2-pair Category 3/4/5 UTP or 4-pair Category 5 UTP straight cable. The PC (equipped
with a RJ-45 1000/100/10Mbps jack) should be connected to any o our ports.

Note: The LED indicators for PC
connection are dependant on the
LAN card capabilities. If LED
indicators are not illuminated after
making a proper connection check

Switch to Hub
A hub (10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX) can be connected to the N-Way Switch via a 2-pair
Category 3/4/5 or 4-pair Category 5 UTP/STP straight cable. The connection is accomp-
lished rom any normal port o the 4 port 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch
to the uplink port o the connected hub.

Auto-polarity detection or correction o incorrect polarity on the received 4-pair on
