Hold down the
key until the display backlight goes on or off.
4 How do I use the menu?
To open the main menu, press the menu key.
Use the navigation key to select the menu items. Use the enter key to confirm your
selection.
To terminate an action or return to the higher-level menu, press the key.

Menu structure*:
5 I want to make a phone call.
Use the numeric keypad to enter the number you want to call.
The number can be corrected with the
"Delete"
function key.

Then press to start the call.
The display shows the dialed number and the name of the contact.
Note:
When making outgoing external calls you may need to dial 9 to get public line access.
6 The phone is ringing, I want to answer the call.
When a call is signaled, press the
key to accept the call.
The number appears
on the display, and the caller's name is displayed if the number is stored in the
phonebook.
7 I want to end a call.
Press
to end the call.
8 I want to lock/unlock the keypad.
To avoid activating keys accidentally when carrying the phone, you can lock the
keys:
Hold down the
key.
The display shows the
icon. All keys are locked.
You can also set up automatic key locking:

In the menu, select Settings --> Security", followed by the option "Automatic
keylock."

Select the required time and confirm with the "Select" function key.
If you do not press any keys for the set time, the keypad locks automatically. The
display shows the
icon.
Note:
If a call comes in, the key lock is automatically removed. It is activated again immediately
after the call ends.

Unlock keypad
To unlock the keys, hold down the
key.
9 I want to talk hands free.
You are making a call and using the earpiece.
Press the key to activate the speaker. You can now talk hands free.

Press the key again to deactivate the speaker.
Note:
It is also possible to pick up a call with the button.
10 I want to adjust the volume.
You are making a call.
Press on the volume control to increase the volume.
Press
on the volume control to reduce the volume.
11 I want to mute the microphone.
You are making a call.
Press the
key.
The icon appears. Your call partner cannot hear you.

To unmute the microphone, press the key again.
12 I want to make a second call.
You are already making a call to a subscriber.
Press the "Hold" function key
.
The connection is put on hold.
Your conversation partner hears hold music.
Dial the number of another subscriber and press
the key.
The call is initiated.
Switch between the subscribers by pressing the "Swap" function key.
To terminate the current call, press the
key.
To activate the call on hold, press the "Retrieve" function key.
13 I want to connect two subscribers.
During an active call, press the "Transfer" function key.
The connection is put on hold.
Your conversation partner hears hold music.
Dial the number of another subscriber and press the
key. The second
connection is set up.

Notify the call to be transferred and
press the "Transfer" function key.
The call is ended. The subscribers are connected to one another.
14 I want to transfer a call without inquiry.
You have been called.

Press the
key.
Press the "Transfer" function key
.
The connection is put on hold.
Your conversation partner hears hold music.
Dial the number to which you want to forward the call. Press the "Trasnfer"
function key, followed by the "Hook on" function key.
The call is immediately forwarded without inquiry.
15 I want to input text.
You need this function when you want to add, find or edit a name in the
phonebook, for example.
The keys in the numeric keypad are assigned multiple characters. Press a key
repeatedly to reach another character on the key.
Example:
You want to input the letter "B" in input mode. Press the key twice to do this.
• The key contains special characters: ! ? ,- ” @ + ; :
• To activate lower case/upper case/numbers: press the key briefly.
• To insert spaces in the text: press the key briefly.
• To delete a character: press the "
Delete" function key briefly.
16 I want to edit my personal contacts.
You can create and edit a list of frequently used contacts. The contacts are stored
only on your SwyxPhone. All entries are listed in alphabetical order.

Press the
function key.
A list of your personal contacts appears.

Select a contact and press the "More" function key.
You have several options:
Add contact

Select "Add contact" and confirm with the enter key.

Enter the name and phone number(s) of the contact. Use the "Save" function key to
confirm that the information is correct.

You can assign a particular call signal to the contact. Use the "Select" function key
to define the setting.

Press the "Save" function key, followed by "Yes", to save the new contact.
Edit contact

Select "Edit contact" and confirm with the "Select" function key.

Edit the name or the number, and confirm the changes with the "Save" function key.
Then select "Yes" to save the changes.
Delete contact

Select "Edit contact" and confirm with the "Select" function key.

Press the "Yes" function key to delete the contact.
The contact is deleted and no longer appears in the list.

Edit number before call
You can edit a number before making a call; for example, if you want to add a
project code.

Select "Edit before call" and confirm with the enter key.

Add the required numbers/characters and press the "Call" function key.
Add contact to a speed dial key

Select "Speed dial" and confirm with the enter key.
Select the required key for speed dialing and confirm with the "Add" function key.

To carry out speed dialing, hold down the speed dial key of the required contact
until the call starts.
17 Call contacts from the Global Phonebook
SwyxPhone D565 provides access to the Global Phonebook.

Press the function key.
The Global Phonebook opens.

Enter the first few letters of the required subscriber's last name.
A list of subscribers appears.

Use the navigation key to select the required subscriber.

Press the "Call" function key.
The call is initiated.
18 I want to listen to my voicemails.
If there are new voicemails for you, the icon appears on the display.

Hold down the key until the voicemail inquiry call starts.

Follow the Remote Inquiry menu instructions.
Note:
Your call forwarding must be configured for Remote Inquiry in this case. For more detailed
information on this, please see the Online Help or contact your administrator.
19 Tips & tricks
Select number from the caller list
Press the
function key.
A list of the dialed, missed, and answered calls is
displayed. The different call types are distinguished by the following icons:
incoming call
,
outgoing call
,
and missed call
.
Use the navigation key to choose the number or name you want, and press the
"Call" function key.
Activate/deactivate acoustic call signaling
To deactivate acoustic call signals permanently, hold down the
key until the
icon appears on the display.
A call is only signalled by the vibrator. (see also
Switch vibrator on/off
)
To switch the call signal back on, hold down the
key once again.
When you hear the ring tone, press the
"Silent"
function key briefly
to mute the
phone temporarily. The phone will ring again on the next call.
Search contacts during an active call
You are making a call.

Press the menu key.

Select "Contacts" or "Global Phonebook".
20 Settings
Change the ring volume

In the main menu, select "Audio settings --> Ring volume" and press the enter key
to confirm.

Use the navigation key to set the volume you want.

Press the "OK" function key to confirm the setting
.
Ring tone

In the main menu, select "Audio settings --> Ring volume" and press the enter key
to confirm.
Use the navigation key to select the required call signal. You can play back the
ring tone with the "Play" function key.
 Press the "Select" function key
to confirm the setting.
Switch vibrator on/off

In the main menu, select "Audio settings --> Vibrator" and press the enter key to
confirm.
You can switch the vibrator on or off permanently, or set it so that it is triggered at
the same time as or prior to acoustic call signaling.
Note:
If you switch off the vibrator permanently, and acoustic call signaling is off, a call is only
signaled by the display on the screen.

Select the required menu item with the navigation key and press the "Select"
function key to confirm the selection.
Language selection
In the main menu, select
"Settings --> Language", followed by the required
language, and confirm with the enter key.
Press the "Select" function key to confirm the setting

The user language is changed
