WendyLett4Way, Inco
WendyLett4Way with Inco is a sliding drawsheet that is used in combination with a WendyLett slide sheet. The sliding draw-
sheet, which is made from a highly absorbent material that can be laundered, is intended for users that are in need of incon-
tinence protection. The sliding drawsheet also has an anti-friction material on the underside, which facilitates repositioning
laterally as well as upwards and downwards on the bed.
Visual inspection
Check the condition and function of the assistive device
regularly. Always inspect the product after laundering.
Check to ensure that seams and material are free from
damage. Check to ensure that fabric is not worn or faded.
If there are signs of wear, the product must be discarded.
Friction test
Low friction - Ensure that the surface is smooth and slides
effortlessly. Compare with a new product.
Always read the user manuals for all assistive devices used
during a transfer.
Keep the user manual where it is accessible to users of the
product. Always make sure that you have the right version
of the user manual. The most recent editions of user
manuals are available for downloading from our website,
www.handicare.com.
Check Safety Always read the user manual
Placement
The WendyLett slide sheet is placed with the shiny side in the
middle of the bed and with the WendyLett4Way, Inco on top.
WendyLett4Way, Inco is marked with a tag to show which
side should be placed upwards on the bed.
Materials
The WendyLett4Way, Inco (1648) sliding drawsheet has a grey-checked pattern on the sides and an anti-friction, satin
material on the underside. The pattern indicates the direction of glide. The topside of the sliding drawsheet is made of a
soft, highly absorbent polyester material (Inco).
WendyLett4Way, Inco with handles (1649) has a topside that is fully covered with Inco material and an underside of anti-
friction material. There are seven handles along the edges of the both sides. On this product there is no grey-checked pat-
tern to indicate the direction of glide.

Be aware that there is a risk of the user
sliding out of bed. Raise the bed rails
before leaving the user.
Caution! Never attempt to lift a user with
the handles on both sides of the sheet
simultaneously.
6USER MANUAL SystemRoMedicTM
If positioning is strenuous, the WendyLett4Way, Inco with handles (Art. No. 1649) can be
used in combination with a user lift. Only connect the handles on one side of the sheet to
the slingbar loops. See image. Positioning in combination with a lift reduces friction under
half of the body and facilitates repositioning of the user in bed, e.g., lying on the side or
higher up in bed.
Advice: Use AdjustmentLoops (Art. No. 49182006) to increase the distance between the
slingbar and the sliding drawsheet.
Advice
English
Turn the user by grasping the sliding drawsheet at the level of the
hip and shoulder. When using WendyLett4Way, Inco a better grip at
the centres of gravity can be achieved by bunching plenty of fabric
together.
Turning using the sliding drawsheet can be done by 1 or 2 caregiv-
ers. When two caregivers are assisting, one can draw the sliding
drawsheet (as above) and the other can press the sliding drawsheet
down against the bed at the hip and shoulder while at the same
time pushing (image 2), using the so-called “press down method”.
Then, the user is turn on one side (images 3 and 4) and repositioned
comfortably in the right position.
Decide, in each individual case, whether the user can be left without
the bed side rails raised. Remember, there is a risk that the user
may slide out of bed. When using the model 1649 the bed side
rails should be raised, as the sheet cannot be tucked in under the
mattress.
Turning
Higher up in bed with
When repositioning the user higher
up in bed the sliding drawsheet is
grasped at the centres of gravity
on either side of the user, either by
grasping the fabric or the handles,
depending on the model. Work in
an upright stance and shift your
weight while drawing the user
higher up in bed.
Sitting up in bed The user can be prevented
from sliding downward in
bed by tucking in the lower
10 cm. By folding the sliding
drawsheet double the friction
side faces downward, against
the underlying surface,
thereby preventing the user
from sliding downward in bed.
Care of the product
Read the product label.
Do not use rinsing agent. To ensure maximum material
life, hang dry or tumble dry on low heat.
