Inspect the received shipping container for any damage. Unpack the container and account for each of the system
components listed on the accompanying packing list. Visually inspect each component for absence of damage.
In the event of damage, notify the shipper and Teledyne LeCroy. Retain all shipping materials for shipper’s inspection.
Introduction
Teledyne LeCroy’s PCIe External Cable 3.0 to x16 PCIe Slot Adapter provides developers with multiple test capabilities to
speed development of new PCIe External Cable 3.0 designs. It supports data rates of 2.5 GT/s, 5.0 GT/s and 8.0 GT/s.
Several test points and headers provide easy access to check status of bus signals.
The PCIe External Cable 3.0 to x16 PCIe Slot Adapter card works with the PCIe External Cable 3.0 class cable (or set of
cables) up to 0.5 meter in length as defined in the PCI Express® External Cabling Specification Revision 3.0. The PCIe
External Cable 3.0 is a new PCIe cable based on the current Mini-SAS HD cable design.

* Notes: For J6 and J3/J4: PCIe Reference Clock is not forwarded through the PCIe External Cable 3.0.
Other sideband signals from slot connector such as PERST#, WAKE#, CLKREQ# are not forwarded through the external cable
interface. Outputs are provided in the adapter for debug purposes.
Access to I2C Bus
The I2C bus is connected from the PCIe Bus card slot to the PCIe External Cable 3.0 to PCIe Slot Adapter
connector J22: Port 0 and J16.
J16 provides access to I2C/SMBus signals from the PCIe slot for other I2C analysis equipment. See Table 2 below,
for the I2C connections on J16.
